We didn't have a fenced in yard and my pup just needed somewhere to run. City requirements made me so much more comfortable with the other dogs in the park, knowing that they were also vaccinated and registered. The secured entry ensures that not just any dog off the street can wander in. The other dog owners are friendly and responsible. Everyone keeps a close eye on their pet to ensure that play doesn't get too rough and poo is picked up. If someone misses their dog pooing, other folks will either help find the 'land mine' or often pick it up for them. There are multiple water bowls and a faucet with fresh water to fill them up at (which owners take turns doing regularly). There are two separate play spaces, one that's ~four acres and another that's for small dogs under 22lbs. The facility contains several benches and waste receptacles with free dog waste bags. The many "regulars" at this park form an awesome community. Everyone chips in to keep the park in tip top shape, owners know almost all of the others dogs' names, watch out for each other's pets and share both funny stories and useful info that can only come from another dog lover. There's even a playground outside of the park for the kiddos - dog park outings are fun and active for our whole family!

Good size with two areas, one for small dogs and the other for all dogs. Bowls and water is available, even a port o john for people. Only wish there was more trees within the dog area because shade makes for happier dogs and humans. So far all dog people seem kind, professional and aware of surroundings. Admission is free, and there are so many great learning materials for parents who love teaching their kids hands-on. We spent most of our time at the nature center, where the kids got to see a rabbit(you can pet it),turtles, birds, snakes, fish, rats, and more. They even have a bee hive on display, which was a huge hit. This place is ideal for kids! The staff is extremely friendly. They even allow you to touch some of the animals. There's so much to see and learn. After exploring the nature center, we headed to the playground, and they also have trails if you want to get some fresh air and walking in. My three kids had an amazing time, and we didn't have to spend a dime to make it happen. Highly recommend for families, schools, and homeschoolers alike!

So glad we came across it one day by accident. Dogs are allowed here (on leash) and there are plenty of picnic tables and a porta potty if needed. Great place if you are looking for a new park to explore! It's not huge but has a walking trail that goes through all the sculptures and a little pond. We have participated in a couple programs sponsored by West Bloomfield Parks & Recreation including…read morelunches and, last year, a Heroes Appreciation Lunch that included veterans and active duty that was held at the Orchard Mall with a buffet lunch and musical entertainment that was nicely done. This year with concerns over the virus and dealing with a more susceptible population of older veterans, They put together a setup for a carry-out bag lunch for veterans and spouses. We signed up and on November 6th we drove to the West Bloomfield Parks and Recreation at the Civic Center and found it to be well marked as to where we should go. We first pulled up to check in, then drove to a stop at a tent where our lunches were handed to us, then slowly drove out past a crowd of people including police and fire with their flashing lighted vehicles cheering for us. We then proceeded to the exit and went home to have our lunches which were actually very good: Turkey Club Sandwich, Macaroni Salad, Bag of Chips, Slice of Apple Pie, and a Carton of Milk. They also included a goodie bag with various items. West Bloomfield Parks and Recreation does a great job supporting veterans and seniors and this is just one example of what they do.

We managed to outpace a boyscout troop that may well have dampened our enjoyment. Very well kept trails.
