Back when my son was at his 5 y/o annual well check-up, I mentioned to his Kaiser pediatrician that I had concerns my son's speech was not where it should be. The doctor referred us to their Speech and Language Dept. where, after a formal assessment, it was determined that my son could benefit from Speech Therapy. Kaiser then gave us a long (and I mean long) list of vendors to reach out to. After calling multiple vendors in the area, only to have them tell me that they had waitlists upwards of 40, I was both desperate and hopeful that Yvonne would be available. I did not want to have to wait weeks, if not months, to get my son started. He was just starting kindergarten, and I did not want him to struggle socially or emotionally due to his speech. I left Yvonne a voicemail and she called me back soon after to inform me that she was able to take us on. Since both of our schedules were very busy and it was still somewhat during the pandemic (2021), we ended up booking Zoom sessions. I was skeptical at first about how practical and effective Zoom would be, but our first session quickly proved that it was going to work. Yvonne is super fun, patient, and efficient. She uses engaging and colorful games that my son immediately took to. He always looked forward to his weekly speech sessions because Yvonne always had something new and exciting to work on. I enjoyed watching her interact with my son as she was often genuinely enthused by his recap of his school day or weekend plans. She leads with positive reinforcement and gives a very helpful summary to the parents at the end of each session. We were given realistic tasks each week of what we (as a family) could be helping our son with daily. Nothing ever seemed too far reaching. Yvonne was very communicative and accessible via phone and email. There were times we had to reschedule, and she was always so kind in helping to find another time that worked in our busy schedules. Yvonne also worked collaboratively with my son's school Speech-Language Pathologist. In the weekly Zoom sessions, Yvonne worked on both her own goals as well as those summarized from his school. It was very comforting to know that our son was getting the best of the best. I cannot say enough great things about Yvonne without making her sound too good to be true. My son was so sad to learn that he was graduating from speech therapy after one year with Yvonne. He felt so empowered after each 30-minute session. My husband and I noticed that our son eventually self-corrected his speech, and would proudly announce to us that he was doing so. Yvonne is incredibly hardworking and cares deeply about her profession. It is amazing how quickly our son's speech improved within just one year. From the very first time I stepped into her office in late 2014 to this very day I felt comfortable; as comfortable as any one person could be, discussing the circumstances I had needed to talk about with a neutral 3rd party for some time. I also felt that I could trust her which I still do. I feel it's important to note that Lori does a range of therapeutic methods within her Roseville office one of which is EMDR (Eye movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing). This is not an easy type of training to locate and for anyone who may be suffering and living with PTSD and has locked so much away within their conscious and subconscious mind and cellular tissues, EMDR has the ability to tap into it. It takes time just like any other form of therapy but I felt that since I had a hard time locating a provider of it I wanted to put this out there to pay it forward. I've thought about writing a review on my greater than 1 year experiences with seeing Lori for some time but to the sensitive nature of the "why" anyone would seek out the help of a "mental health" professional I decided that if this review helps another seeking a female therapist who has been trustworthy, provided a safe place for me to work out and thru some issues and who has always been kind and compassionate yet firm in her actions and speech then its worth putting myself out there. She has helped me immensely. There are several mental health providers and therapists which practice within this same East Roseville office. Psychiatry as well as therapists which makes seeing multiple doctors and the like more convenient. There is a restroom which is public use and located in the outdoor corridor and requires a key to access which only adds to the sense of security and safety of the area. Her appointments have always booked up quickly so don't be surprised if you have to wait a month or two to get your new patient appointment but you're emailed your intake packet in advance and fill it out electronically if you like sending it back to her prior to your appt. Return visits can be booked in advance at the end of your visits which ensures you can receive your therapy as often as need be. Lori books her own appointments and does her own insurance billing which for me has worked out well as I don't have to deal with another stranger for these things. There is a cancellation fee if you don't cancel an appt. within 24 hours but that's all disclosed within your registration packet.

Most of the Nurses, CNAs, and therapists went above and beyond. They explained what was going to happen each day, as to therapy, linens, tests, medication ajustments, etc. My wife required assistance with the commode, and they were great in helping her. Linen changed when needed. Therapists there are top notch. Negatives: As with everything in life, there is room for improvement. Pine Hill is understaffed, and Nurses are responsible for 10 to 16 patients at a time. The Commode was not cleaned after each use. (Intermittently) The rooms in the facility were way too warm. Multiple complaints by many patients. (This was a 3 week stay in May.) My Wife has Lipidema and needed wound care, which she didn't get at all the first 3 days that she was there, and then it was minimal. She did see a wound Dr. once a week after that, and the wound care improved. Most rooms are double occupancy, and the facility needs to take more of an active role in controlling the TV volume at night when a patient is blasting their TV after 10pm. Makes it hard for the roommate to sleep. My wife is picky when it comes to food, and said that she wanted no milk, cereal, or Apple sauce. She got all 3 anyway. Eggs and toast were cold when delivered.

I'll start by saying my Mom is definitely a complicated patient, but if they don't have the means to properly take care of someone then say so. The Medicare 5/5 is a joke. My Mom was here twice and sent back to the hospital in terrible condition from neglect. Second time she went straight to the ICU and almost died. Place smells nice, once you get past the front door however- disgusting. My Mom got a UTI and then colonized because of staff unhygienic practices. Always dependent loops in my Mom's catheter every single time I came to visit. No wonder she kept getting UTIs. The food is terrible- I don't see how anyone can recover being forced to eat the slop they feed you. They never communicate like they say they will. They say they draw labs, but how are your lab values so different from the hospital? When questioned the DON makes it like it my Moms fault, not theirs. When I originally came to get her stuff there wasn't a nurse around to get me her personal medication. I made a special trip to come back and get them only to be told that they "discarded" them. PT staff rough with my Mom. Told her, "You want to go home and see your family? Get up" - DO BETTER
