Natural hair, treated hair or almost no hair, this is the place to go! Walter and Daynia have done a great job with this spot (I do however miss the treats they had and it's been on hold since Covid). My stylist, Kiana, knows how to tame my head of natural hair and she does it so perfectly without burning me or pulling at my roots. Ali, is always there to help with the blow dry and parting. This Paul Mitchell salon provides true top notch service!!! From the minute we walked in we were offered water,coffee, and even wine! We sat comfortably in the small seating area and they didn't seem to mind that we walked in with a 5 headed tribe. We were there for support. Everyone in here was super nice and patient. Also noticed everyone had a cool vibe with style(hair and clothing),piercings, and henna tattoos. My friends daughter was being brave. She decided to chop off all her hair due to years of chemically damaged treatments. She decided to go with a natural look to start over. Her stylist went over everything with us even after asking repeatedly the same questions( we were nervous..a girls hair is a serious topic). She wasn't bothered at all and everyone here seems to help eachother out. As she cut another stylist came over and swept up her area real quick.The owner came over and even gave some helpful hair tips. I have to say this salon is super clean to. Nothing was dusty, shelves all organized and even the bathroom was spotless. It was nail biting seeing my friends daughter's hair just slowly coming to. But she was happy, satisfied, and had a look of relief. When she was finally done they told us about some more products to purchase to help with the upkeep. She also gave somepointers to do everyday and weekly. My friend purchased 2 products from here to to help with her daughters hair growth. We did a lot of research on hair and makeup stylists.This by far was one of the toughest choices to make as hair and make up are critical for the brides. As a same sex couple, planning a wedding over 1,400 miles away, we wanted to make sure the stylist and artist we hired were comfortable working with two brides, skilled at doing diverse textured hair, and able to create the look both of us wanted. We have very different hair and very different styles. We also were not able to do trial hairdos because we are from out of state. When we reached out to NR Hair and Make Up, their staff was professional and emailed us a brochure of their services. After reviewing it, I called and spoke with Daynia and told her what we needed. She said "No problem, we can do it." We were a little anxious because were from out of state and had never met them. We had to trust that she could do what she said she could do. We are so glad we trusted her! Daynia and Taylor were superb to work with. Daynia created a master updo for my now wife and for me, curls. I was really concerned if the curls in my hair would stay with the Miami humidity as they typically do not, but Daynia assured me that she could get them to hold. She did her masterful magic and my hair looked magnificent and the curls stayed all day and night even through hours of salsa and merengue dancing . My wife's updo was so CLASSY. She was stunning. Five days later her updo still looked great . Taylor did our makeup and my eyelashes. She too was great to work with. She nailed my wife's makeup. With me, it took a little tweaking here and there but she was sooo patient and determined to create the look I wanted. She too nailed it! Both Daynia and Taylor came to our hotel as planned, actually they both were a little early. Their punctuality really helped put us at ease. We are so happy we found a professional, skilled, focused, well prepared, and very easy to work with team to do our hair and make up for one of the most important days of our lives. After a tragic hair cut I experienced, I was recommended from a classmate who has beautiful natural hair to go to this place and I took her word for it (word of mouth is better than going in clueless).So Being that I was desperate I decided to travel all the way to Miami from Coral Springs! When I arrived I was greeted, everyone was very welcoming they even gave me a tour of the cute little shop she has. I have gone to quite a few places, and been overcharged for a blow dry. This place offered reasonable prices and what really stood out was the friendliness that was emitted. Everyone greeted me with smiles and a "good morning". I felt like I could actually relax. Joann was nothing short of amazing! She took her time washing and giving me a scalp massage, which I have never experienced and then listened to all the complaints of the previous people who have touched and burned my hair. My hair came out like never before! My ends curled up and she used quality products. The actual salon feels very homey. No one is in a rush and they dedicate attention to each of their clients. If I was able to give negative 5 stars I gladly will. I would like to explain my horrifying experience with this salon. I asked to crochet my 7 Dread I have in the back of head, and I was recommend to Danya. I would appreciate if she would have been honest and did not know how to crochet hair like mine. Instead she cut all the free hairs of my dead and informed me crochet method would loosen my dreads. She seemed trust worthy but I questioned her expertise when she took out the scissors and started to cut off the standing hairs of my dreadlocks. Furthermore, tightened my roots so hard that I had massive migraines and pain later on after the appointment. (ps. I am not tender headed) Unnecessary excessive tightening. She later on put wax on my hair after I informed her I was told not to put product in my dreads by my original dreadlocks stylist. I paid 63$ for that entire disaster, I would have delightedly flushed my money down the toilet than give it someone who ripped me off purposely. read more
