"I'm a new woman!" Is what I literally said when I left Jessy's salon today. I am beyond thrilled with the haircut that Jessy gave me. Jessy listened to everything I expressed about my hair goals. She took her time making sure she gave me exactly what I wanted. I was a little nervous because I hadn't cut my hair in a long time and I really wanted to try out bangs. Jessy made me feel really comfortable. Her salon is super cute and clean. It's really nice getting to be with a hair stylist one on one, I've actually never had that experience before. It makes you feel like a celebrity, having a private salon! Like WOW! Talk about getting pampered. And Jessy is just the sweetest person. She just let me sit down and tell her my life story like we were mejor amigas or something. We were laughing in no time. I will definitely be back. Every good thing you've heard about Jessy is true. As someone who's extremely nervous about letting just anyone touch my hair, I did months of research before deciding on going to Jessy to do a radical change to my virgin hair. Not only was she communicative and friendly, but you feel like family when you step into her salon. She worked through the colors and dimensions with me to make sure I got what I was looking for, and she's so fun to talk to! Those 6 hours we spent on a full hair color change went by like nothing. She's also very conscious about hair health, gives you advice, and only uses the best of the best. As a curly head, bleaching my hair made me nervous, but its been well over a month now and my curls (and my color!) are still popping! I can't recommend Jessy enough! She has fair pricing and I am always happy to support independent stylists! I went to her for balayage and she made my hair look straight out of a magazine. I also got my hair cut with her and I showed her a video of what I wanted and she cut it exactly as shown in the video. She is super friendly and easy to talk to while you're in the chair. Although it's obvious to everyone in my life that I am a natural purplette, my actual hair strands haven't gotten the message so eventually the color faded (the transition was amazing: a new compliment-getting color every wash!). A lot of people encouraged me to just buy the dye from the store, but I was not about to mess up my hair - there's a reason people go to school for coloring! - so without any hesitation I went back back to Jessy. Once again she provided an exceptional service. She quickly responded to my SOS-dye-job request and we set an early Saturday appointment. The touch up took less than half the time as my first appointment and Jessy kept the convo and laughs flowing. Her friend who she splits the shop with was also there with her own client and, just like Jessy, she's funny and friendly. Now I'm back to my Psylocke locks! (The color is identical to my first appointment.) My advice: if you want to color your hair, I genuinely believe you cannot do better than Jessy. read more

It almost upsets me to write this review because I was having a wonderful experience up until recently. I held off on writing this review because I was hoping my hair appointment from Saturday would be different than the previous one but I was unfortunately wrong. Let me start off with the former appointment that started my disappointment. I had an appointment on August 18th. I arrived on time but did not start until 15 minutes later due to a previous client running a bit late. That's fine, it happens. What I was not happy about is that whenever I have gone, I have always gotten both a trim on my ends and a blow dry yet this time I was told that I was not scheduled for both, only the blow dry and when I asked why seeing as I always have gotten both, I was told that that's not true that it has varied and that she doesn't have time for both (mind you, a trim takes less than 15 minutes for me and my appointment started 15 minutes late so I thought that it was not fair that there's no time to do both when she even started working late on me). I ended up skipping the blow dry, doing the trim because it was much needed and again it didn't take even 15 minutes so if I had a blow dry scheduled, I think both could've been done but I did not want to argue. Although upset, I figured perhaps it was a bad day and things happen so that I'd go back again for my hair needs because as stated in my previous review, Jessy knows how to work her magic on hair and has saved my hair. I went back this past Saturday, 12/8. I arrived on time and when I walk in, I see that Jessy is in the process of dying a client's hair. That was already a bad sign for me because I knew that it would take a while to finish that client and it would be a balancing act. Effectively, my 1pm appointment started at 1:30pm and it was a balancing act between myself and her other client, who was clearly a friend. An appointment that I hoped would last no more than 3 hours became 5 and that's because I had to go after the cut rather than staying for the blow dry and styling I originally had anticipated. I told Jessy before the cut that I needed to be somewhere at 7pm so it was explained to me that the lightener process is unpredictable and she would have informed me about this had she known. Perhaps my bad but this was the first time I was doing a balayage with her and my expectation based on multiple prior appointments is that the whole process and price would be explained to me, neither of which were disclosed. I would've been fine with that explanation but again she didn't start with me until 30 minutes before and was balancing myself and another client which did delay the process with me. Not only that, and don't get me wrong everyone is entitled to breaks and lunch, but when you take a 30 minute lunch break with your coworker and your other client, and 3 extensive breaks with your client and coworker while I am just sitting there, then it is borderline disrespectful to me. I understand, because I am not new to a salon, that certain processes take time such as dye and bleach because I've done both but I am certain that had I not been juggled with another client I would not have been there for 5 hours (and again it was cut to 5 hours because I chose to leave but if not it would've been almost 6 hours). Had I known I was booked at the same time as another client, I would've never accepted the appointment because it is time consuming. I never had had that issue when I would go to Jessy but it happened and it was very disappointing. My next disappointment is just that I felt like I was a wall. I am very used to Jessy talking to me, asking how's everything, and so forth, and that has not been the case the last two times I've gone, regardless of there being other people or not. I am not sure why that's happened, I originally assumed it was a bad day but it occurred this last time as well. I don't go to a salon expecting my stylist to be my friend but I was used to Jessy being very talkative, conversational, and friendly and that's not what I received these last two times. Overall, just very disappointed because I was very happy with her work and her customer service every time and these last two times have just been upsetting despite the great work. read more

I heard of Jessy through a friend who's been going to her for years. My friends hair is always on point, so I had to give it a shot. After receiving Jessy's number, I text her, introducing myself and asking to schedule an appt. She responded within a few minutes. I was able to schedule an appt for that same week. Jessy is located in the beauty mall, above Goodwill. If you've never been to the beauty mall, it can be a bit confusing because there are multiple hair/ makeup/ nail salons in one giant room. But just text her, and she'll meet you at the entrance. Walking in, she was very sweet and welcoming. She shares her studio with another stylist, who was also very nice. Before we started, she offered me wine. We hadn't even started, and I think she won me over. Lol. I went in for layers. She suggested I get long layers because of how I usually style my hair. She took her time to do my hair. You can tell she loves her job, which made my experience better. After the blow-dry, my hair came out suuuuper pretty. I've noticed with other stylists, when you wash your hair after the haircut, sometimes you find uneven cuts. Jessy cut my hair perfect. I will definitely continue to visit Jessy for my hair needs!! read more

Appointments are usually on time and she makes the entire experience both fun and enjoyable. Jessy's excellent! She's been doing my hair for over four years, including on my wedding day. She accommodates to my schedule. If I need an earlier appointment, she's always available.
