From a golfer's perspective, whilst this course is a moderate par 72, I reckon it's pretty tough as it's hilly. Unfortunately the hills don't seem to work alternately in your favour and against you as on some courses, rather always against you, as the fairways slope sideways and even if your drive is straight it tends to run off to the side. Still, it's worth a round, and open to the public provided you avoid member's competition days (call the clubhouse to check). Views from the cafe/restaurant are also excellent, so stop in for lunch or a beer after your game, and make use of the pro-shop, which is pretty well stocked.

I have walked this course and it's not easy. The fairways and greens are generally well maintained and last minute bookings are possible at times. I will probably end up here at some point again. It's conveniently located and easy to get to. At the moment they have mid week green specials so it's quite reasonable to golf here. Some of the holes are really tricky and have amazing views across the harbour. Staff are friendly and helpful and it's an ok place to get a game in the city.

St Micks is a great course, theres a few blind tees which can be problematic and it of course suffers by comparison with NSW but it is well worth a try. Last time I played there we got held up by a group of Japanese playing in front of us who stopped to take photos of whales breaching just off the coast. In case the irony was lost on them I suggested they not eat them. Pretty easy to get on even though its a private club. Money fixes everything!

The bar has a unique ambiance that is great to have a quiet while watching TV or having a chat about the game.

A predominantly flat course, it offers a decent round without being too challenging. The greens are generally in excellent condition, and with it being relatively open, loss of balls should be kept to a minimum (although there is the creek which feeds into the harbour which has stolen a couple of mine over the years). They have a number of members' competitions, so ring ahead to make sure that you can tee off if you're just planning to go for a casual round ($24 for 9 holes). Club hire is available, as are coaching sessions, starting from $50 for half an hour. You should be able to get round in around an hour and a half, so its a decent course for those who are time-budgeting. Just be careful of pedestrians on the course - it's a public throughway - as sometimes they forget that they're crossing a golf course and can become cannon fodder!

The venue seemed to be very popular with almost every practice station taken up by a member or guest. The golf course itself is absolutely stunning and is renowned as a Championships course. The golf club has plenty of facilities including a refreshments bar, carts and buggies and a pro shop. You can also hire golf equipment if you do not own any or require any additional items to win your round of golf! Golf tuition is available for those of us who wish to brush up on our skills and hopefully improve a bit! Overall, the course is beautiful maintained while the premises are well kept. The green is in good condition and the club has plenty of facilities including a restaurant and function rooms. Membership is available for individuals, family, corporate or on junior levels. The food at Macquarie Links is also pretty decent!
