I love this artisan chocolate so much that I'm going to have to start putting a limit on the amount of times I can order a year, lol! They take the utmost care with packaging and making sure that your chocolates arrive quickly. And every single item I bite into is better than the next! Actually, they're all excellent in their own particular ways, depending on the types of chocolates that you like. I cannot recommend this place enough! I drove from my home 37 min away to Burl, to grab an espresso before work. We were told that they shutdown the espresso machine 20 mins before closing but that we could still shop? No thank you, I drove down for an espresso. If you are open until 5pm then you should be serving what's on your menu until closing time. Especially when you're surrounded by tons of local competitors, like speeder and earls and others. I've been a business owner in Chittenden county for almost 20 years. This is not good customer service. You do not turn somebody away that far ahead of closing time, especially when they've driven that far for your product. I had the best mocha I've had in 30 years here! It's made with their signature blend dark chocolate and homemade whipped cream. Sooooooo good! One of the best shots of espresso in the city. The gourmet chocolates are beautiful and delicious. It's a little often the main path, but worth the few extra steps to visit. I live an hour and a half away so my familiarity with Burlington's best is almost null. Found this spot through Reddit and decided to make a trip there. Staff is great, offered me a sample of the jasmine truffle. Delicious. I picked up a variety of items. The hazelnut crisp bars are fantastic. The fresh garden mint truffle kinda gives peppermint a run for its money, not gonna lie, but there are also peppermint bars so fear not. I just know the hot chocolate is gonna taste amazing. Delicious chocolates and a great store if looking for gift items to take home . I bought the white chocolate balls and the cacao nibs (vegan) as well as the chocolate bars. The cocoa almonds were so good and the free tastings made it difficult to choose what I wanted to bring home. The salesperson offered me a special bag to keep the chocolate from melting as I was traveling by car and was walking around- very cool! They have lots of items to choose from and all reasonably priced .the iced mocha (dairy free) will keep you cool after your ferry trip across lake Champlain. The store is clean and spacious with indoor or outdoor seating . It's worth a stop if you love chocolate! I keep ordering the cacao nibs - can't keep my kids from stealing it from my pantry. They're the best nibs ever !!!! read more

I'm a bit of a chocolate nerd, but I didn't know about this high-quality product from Columbia: go figure. Calm. The new Battery Street store is the essence of quiet serenity. It isn't sterile; rather, it's focused and sensual. Thus, volupte. Their work is at the very-highest level of sensory pleasure. They have pushed away all distraction, so you can be focused on their peerless work. It is sort of amazing that Burlington has not, until now, had a European-style chocolate atelier. Overdue. But they are ready for the challenge. Their opening event last Saturday was a mob scene of ardent foodies. I gladly spent nearly $60 and gave most of that away to friends. I'm speechless. A few years ago, my favorite chocolatier, Bijou, closed down. It was the saddest day for both me and my best friend because we loved their crispy pearl bar. Today, I happened to be walking up Battery Street and stumbled upon Nu Chocolat. The interior is clean and modern but warm and welcoming. Apparently, they've only been open a month but it was clear they were skilled. Upon further inspection of the store, I realized that it was the SAME family who produced my favorite crispy pearl bar!!! So, after some decision making, I settled on crispy pearl bars, the fruit pate, and a chocolate cake. How was the chocolate cake you ask? FUCKING AMAZING. It's a dark chocolate coated chocolate cake with buttercream between the layers. The thing is, I hate buttercream. It's so basic. Not this buttercream. It is smooth and melts into the cake, enhancing the flavor. It's just enough to make you wanting more but leaving you completely satisfied. I don't even need to write about the crispy pearl bars or the fruit pate. Everything is made in house and it's clear that everything is fresh fresh fresh. Throughout the store, you will also find samples of their lovely, mouth-watering chocolates, from the bars to the nibs to the truffles. Their truffle samples have to be the cutest thing I've ever seen; it's like a short stack version of the actual chocolate piece, which makes it clear that these chocolatiers actually care about their product and wouldn't just cut up seconds for the purpose of sampling. They actually care about showing their clientele their skill, which is incredible. The shop also has coffee and tea, as well as hot chocolate, which I didn't sample but I have no doubt it is amazing. Overall: an incredible new addition to Burlington! It's just what we needed! read more

I am not a fan of truffles but this little shop won me over. The truffles were excellent. I also enjoyed the chocolate bar with pieces of toffee. The shop was immaculately clean with excellent customer service. The only shortcoming is the price of the chocolates; however, I am willing to pay more for quality and taste. read more
