SUCH a delicious chocolate croissant The people who worked there seemed really nice! Bit too crowded for a Sunday morning - it's a bit off the beaten path Successful take on an iced cappuccino

What a gem this place was! Really good maple latte, but the biscuit was worth coming back. I am glad I don't live near here, or it would affect my weight loss goals something fierce.

It's such a cute coffeeshop and bakery. It was about time for lunch, so I ordered a ham and cheese sandwich. The bread was so soft and tasty and the sandwich was very filling. Lots of windows to look out and provides great natural light. It's a nice neighborhood establishment with great offerings for breakfast and lunch.

Super local cafe with the bakery next door, one of our favorite longtime spots for pastry and croissants. Personal favorite is their sweet chocolate croissant or the savory ham and cheese croissant - both are super delicate and buttery, endless flaky layers of goodness! Whether you're getting just a coffee to go or settling into on of the books to sip and snack, it's a reliable spot to relax or do some work. Parking is tight on North Winooski, but turn onto Decatur St or Intervale, walk a half block and you'll do fine. Well worth getting your steps in.

Still one of my favorite coffee shops and bakeries to visit in Burlington. Grateful for my return visit this past Monday for Mondays with Mariko and Yelp. I think it's a combination of the beautiful display of pastries, fresh flowers on the tables and wide array of natural sugars that win me over. Might I also add that the natural light that floods the room is perfect for food/drink photos? Per usual, I can't wait for my next visit to Barrio Bakery.

Bacon Cheddar Rosemary Biscuit. So good, I couldn't wait to take the photo first.

I tried one of their savory biscuits, which is sold at Tight Squeeze Coffee Shop on College Street. It was a bacon, cheddar, and rosemary biscuit. DELICIOUS! I usually find biscuit to be a bit dry, but this was a moist, every so slightly chewy, savory biscuit. It didn't crumble like most biscuits. The edges of the biscuits are even better then the center, if that's possible. They cut the biscuits in a square, so there is plenty of edge, so no need to fight for a corner piece like when to buy a piece of brownie. :-)

I love Panadero! This bakery is run by a husband and wife duo, which makes it all the more charming. Panadero has recently expanded into the adjacent unit and now serves espresso and lunch sandwiches and soup in additional to their breads and pastries. Their croissants are amazing and some of the best I've ever had. The chocolate croissant is very popular and they frequently run out by the early afternoon (I happened to snag the last one!). The orange-hazelnut pastry was just as delicious. If you don't have a craving for sweets, try the savory biscuit, which has ham, cheese, and sage baked right into it. It's one of my favorites and gives Red Lobster's cheesy biscuits a run for their money. Panadero also bakes a different loaf of bread everyday for $5 (chipotle cheddar was on Thursday). A French baguette was $3 and the slightly larger and wider loaf of battard was $4. All of their baked goods were reasonably priced; nothing was more than $5. Panadero is definitely a hidden gem in the Old North End.

A no laptop policy keeps things flowing and encourages folks to talk vs work. Breakfast menu is available all day while lunch starts at 11 and goes until close at 3p. We tried a few things: * croissant - super flaky and perfectly made. * breakfast sandwich - with sausage. Buttery and crispy edges toast with fried egg and melted cheese with sausage. One of my favorite breakfast sandwiches ever. * banner eighteen - a play on cheesesteak with broccoli mushrooms and shaved steak in a sesame hogie. This one had slight spice and a slight taste reminiscent of a combination pizza. It's a big sandwich and quite tasty. * oatmeal raisin cookie - not too sweet which I loved. Chewy. * fresh baquette. Bread . . . . . * maple lemonade - slightly sweet with a good bit of tartness. It was good! I'd definitely comeback here if I'm craving some sandwiches

We tried the eat the east breakfast sandwich ($11) and the vermonter sandwich ($16). I especially liked the vermonter sandwich and the bread it came on. The cafe also sells various bread items and baked goods. One thing to note is that since the cafe is counter-serve, seating is also first come first serve. We were able to snag a seat right as someone left, but for that reason I would recommend coming at a less peak time if able. August First is deservedly a busy spot in Burlington and I would be there often if I were a local.
