Had an awful experience getting botox injections that caused irrevocable damage (until the botox wears off hopefully!) with an inexperienced (only 4 years doing cosmetic injections) ex trauma surgeon here. May have a nice personality - but - beware - he doesn't know what he is doing. Used too much botox in areas that require a minimum (chin) which froze the smile and made it hard to eat without drooling. Injected into cheek lines when he was doing crows feet area (which are, 'forbidden,' areas for botox and kept going when I questioned him) while the owner said, "you're going to love it." The cheek injections created an INCREASE in naso labial lines (that were not there before) AND weird smile lines around the mouth created by the botox being pushed toward the center of the face and down! that were ALSO NOT THERE BEFORE. Sunk the cheek and created a vertical line instead of the normal, 'puff,' in cheek with a big smile. Has no idea what he is doing. BEWARE! Did not use numbing cream. As per research (below) I did after on internet and the advice I sought from more experienced doctors I had gone to before: Q. Can to Many Units of Botox for Crows Feet Make Condition Worse? A. Botox should not be injected in the cheeks, it will affect the smile muscles. As stated earlier, you shouldn't inject Botox in the cheeks because it will affect the movement of the zygomaticus muscle which raises the corners and the upper lip. There is nothing which can be done except let the Botox wear off over the next 3-4 months. Side of Face is Paralyzed After Botox for Crow's Feet Q. I had botox for crow's feet and now the right side of my face is paralzed. Will this get better? 6 days after botox the right side of my face felt numb. When I smile my mouth pulls down severely on the right. My doc said she believes the botox migrated to the nerve in my cheek and will be fine in a few weeks. Have you ever seen this before and is it reversible? A. Very important that you get BOTOX from an experienced injector The only reason BOTOX "migrates" is because it was placed inaccurately. The paralysis of the face you mention can last up to 3 or 4 months. There really is not much that can be done. I sorry you have this issue. It sounds like it was placed too low on the cheek." When I went back to see if he could, 'fix it,' (and I had to wait for a couple of weeks because he is only scheduled when there are enough people there to make it worth their time) the owner was defensive, unnerved and unprofessional --- and even -- volatile. She argued profusely and hurried me out of the office because, 'other clients,' were waiting. Better to google the doctor online before you go and find his closet full of skeletons in his former career. He tried to claim that he injected properly, covering his ass, but then admitted (in writing) that he created new lines in a text with the pic I sent. Very scary. It is nearly 2 months since and I still can't smile as I did before because I am trying to keep the new lines he created from becoming permanent. Hoping (?) the botox will wear off in another month without long lasting damage. It has consumed my time (going for 2nd opinions) my thoughts and has interfered with my work. Tried to look 'fresh' for the camera and for the Holidays -- Instead -- a disaster all around. Never in 12 years have I had a bad experience like this and I was even a model for a class supervised by experienced doctors for medical professionals who were injecting for the first time. read more

BUYER BEWARE. These people are there just to make money and are not trained nor qualified to provide professional cosmetic treatments. After 2 more months -- (from last review) I'm still seeing the bad effects from the botox administered incorrectly by the inexperienced doctor at NuGlo Medi Spa. I was injected on October 15 (so effective Nov 1) Dr. Colontonio LIED to my face about how many years of experience he actually had in doing cosmetic injections. (I have since learned that he has had just 1 year of experience, if that, but told me that he had 4). And, the owner, Rona, is equally responsible and complicit in this charade for misleading me. Every competent plastic surgeon and experienced dermatologist and/or doctor specializing in using cosmetic fillers and botox has said that there is nothing that can be done but to wait till the botox wears off. This will take a couple MORE months it seems. Hopefully my face/smile will be restored to how it was BEFORE I took a risk and went to NuGloMediSpa. BE CAREFUL who you let touch your face! read more

Bottom line: I have acne prone skin and Rona was able to clear it with her chemical peels. She has pictures to prove, just ask to see them. I went to her bc I knew her through Facebook, through a mutual "friend". I was going to many upscale salons for facials and they never tried to help cure my skin. Rona, on the other hand, gave me a client centered approach, helped me make informed decisions, was non threatening in terms of product sales, and always gave me much time and care despite her packed schedule. I've been to her a total of 10 times and always have a great experience, I look forward to seeing her and being treated. My clear skin is evidence that she knows what she is doing. Hows that after years of a pimple face? What is more is that she follows up after each peel through text message to ask how my skin is doing. Oh, and one last thing: she text messages me appointment confirmations and I have never received telemarketing spam in the 8 months I have been going to her. Nu Glo medi-spa is, by far, the best spa I have ever been to! The owner, Rona, takes the time to understand my needs and answer every one of my questions without hesitation. Her experience, knowledge and personalized service is second to none. I have experienced peels, facials, waxing and skin tight. I will not go anywhere else Nu-Glo's skin products are fabulous too. In the past, I have bought the best of the best skin care products. I purchased Nu Glo's toner, cleanser, face lotion, eye cream and apple stem cell serum. NEVER has my skin looked as incredible as it does with Rona's products. The lotions have a swivel top so as not to let in air, the product sizes are generous and the prices are so doable! (The prices of the products were much less than I expected to pay for the results they gave.) I just found nu glo and Rona from a friend of mine who has been raving about her for years! I've been scared to start any injections, as I am and have always been so afraid of needles - and I am not enjoying this aging process. I didn't know there were so many options other than needles and surgery!!!! Rona explained everything available to me in detail, and made herself available to me via text whenever I might need her. She is incredibly gifted and extraordinarily educated about all of the newest technologies and techniques, I was literally blown away! After careful thought and consideration, I decided to go with the Tripollar radio frequency. I have only done 4 of 8 treatments - done once a week - with NO downtime and feels amazing. I found Nu Glo Medi-Spa online at Groupon. I bought a package of ultrasonic cavitation combined with radio frequency (3 sessions for $200). I was skeptical at first because I read so many mixed reviews, but decided to give it a try. Now I'm glad I gave it a try, because it really worked for me. My abdomen is visible tighter. It seems that the heat causes immediate tissue retraction, but formation of new collagen can take up to six months. Rona has a fantastic bedside manner and is patient, thorough and caring. She educates you on the procedure with time and patience . Lovely office in Hewlett without that sort of "Manhattan attitude". I've really enjoyed spending time with her. Very accommodating schedule. I'd recommend Rona to anyone I know and I'm definitely going back to her for more sessions of fat cavitation combined with radio frequency and any other aesthetic treatments she may offer. read more

Rona gave me the best facial I've ever had. I've traveled extensively and had spa treatments all over.. What I liked best about Rona was she stayed in the room the entire time and even when the steamer was on and many estethicians leave Rona was massaging my hands and shoulders.
