First things first, this place is extremely cute! When you walk in you notice everything is where it should be and the place is clean. I am extremely cautious when choosing someone to do my brows, I want them to look natural and not overly done and/or cartoonish. After consulting with Nico and viewing her work I felt completely at ease and safe in her hands. Nico took me through each step of the process and made sure I was comfortable. She explained how it would look after the initial application, over the next several days, how to maintain my brows, and what the final outcome will look like. Nico is a doll! Please be careful with Babe with a Blade Nico. She takes no accountability for her mistakes. Here you can see a clean eyebrows with minor prior and the damages from Nico's work. She has been leaving some clients with a botched micro blading, uneven, unfinished, damaged eyebrows, and is failing at contacting them back for their refund. I had to have mines laser removed a month after she did mines. Some are too nervous to speak up however some did in fact file online complaints against her. There are several cases. She leaves clients undone so she can request for them to book a second appointment. At times she freestyle her drawing and doesn't use the line technique. Her freestyle leaves clients with uneven eyebrows. Here in pics one eyebrow is round and the other goes up higher. One is also thicker than the other. Instead of trying to resolve the matter, she persist on bashing clients so that they may not want to return to her. She showed no remorse towards what she's done. A complaint with the state of NEW YORK will be filed for these damages. Her damages has to be first removed for another artist to do the micro blading properly. Nico, takes no responsibility for her work. Initially, she at first friendly, but when I as a client complained, she transformed into a mean-spirited individual. She even proceeded to be confrontational towards my complaints in front of her two children. Nico ruined by eyebrows shape, added too much shading, didn't do enough micro blading, my eyebrows look like a disaster. I've attached my before and after her work. Nico, lied and said that the Hot shower was the cause for eyebrows fading 4 weeks after my first appointment with her, smh. The pictures clearly shows it's because she didn't do enough micro blading. Also, The microblading on my eyebrows was unevenly done, and I believe she intentionally did it to encourage me to return for touch-ups. Just seeing other clients whom in the past have had the same exact complaints. I've attached my images into the page. One eyebrow is shaped however micro bladed improperly, but the other is more rounded and not micro bladed properly. Additionally, the shading on my left eye was applied too low than my natural brow. I now have the bottom of one eyebrow left with blank spaces and with several mini dots. This is clearly unprofessional. After she finished the first appointment, I told her one look more rounded than the other, she gave me a no care attitude and claimed that I would need another touch-up to fix this because she has to apply the shading in layers. I decided to only give her a partial deposit for the second appointment because I wanted the problem fixed. Again, I asked for micro blading not more shading. Barely six weeks after my first appointment, my eyebrows look like a disaster. Neither side were micro-bladed properly. I made sure to text her my progress so she can see how bad my eyebrows were. I complained about the unevenness several weeks before my second appointment and even sent her images. However, the day prior of my appointment, she told me that I didn't need to send her images. She never asked me to come in for a consultation. As a business owner myself, I take pride in communication which is the reason why I made sure to reach out to her. I had given her a deposit for the second appointment. When I arrived, she quickly looked at my eyebrows and said they looked faded and accused me of taking hot showers. I knew right away that this was her way of avoiding accountability for her poor job. I told her that I'm very in tune with my skin and don't like taking hot showers. She wanted to shade more my eyebrows which would then lead to me having my highlight areas being covered, which will also lead to me having a thicker look. Nico also told that she will not have a laser eyebrow removal until May. My friend I bumped into can surely attest of this and has in fact been texting me after seeing Nico's neglect. She even said in front of Nico I can see how one was more round than the other. After spending several minutes talking about my concerns and no work being done she proceeded to ask that I still pay her the balance for the day. Simply unbelievable and just greedy. I called several places yesterday to have the damage on my left eye removed, but they are asking me over $400. This is extremely expensive and feels like a scam. Now, I have to find an actual professional to fix this. She was not only disrespectful but she's taken my money and didn't show any remorse for her poor customer service. PLEASE REFUND MY FULL PAYMENTS. This is going to cost too much to repair. First with a laser removal, then to have a professional artist. read more

I was so excited to get my brows done after considering it for years. I went to Babe with a Blade on a recommendation and from what I saw in her site and social media I liked how other people's eye brows looked. My first appointment was good. Nico was personable and friendly. I was not super excited about the shape of my eyebrows when done and I just kicked myself for not coming in with more specifics in mind about how I wanted my brows to look. A couple of times along the process I had issues that I had to call her about. The first time she responded and gave me counsel on what to do and how things would be all good once I have my touch up appointment which is like the perfecting stage. By the end of the 14 day of my first appointment I was not satisfied with the way my brows looked. I was getting ready to go to Hawaii for summer vacation and to celebrate my 10th wedding anniversary and I was not feeling confident about how my pics would look and so forth. I reached out to her but got no response at all. By the time my appointment for my touch up rolled around I was a bit anxious. Nico starts working on my brows and I start to bleed. She tells me that if I bleed too much I may have to reschedule for an additional fee or pay a $75 fee that day. She asks me if I had coffee I said no I drink tea. Nico tells me I was not supposed to have any caffeine before my appointment and how that contributes to bleeding and all this is stated on her website. (If you drink coffee or tea before your appointment don't admit to it) mind you I had a cup of tea with my breakfast and it is now after 3:00pm. At the end of the appointment she insisted that I pay this $75 fee for what seemed like her inconvenience. Lastly the thing that turned me off even more was that after the first appointment each client is given a little draw string bag that has two little pots. One is coconut oil and the other is dial liquid soap. After the second appointment I wasn't given one and asked for it and was told by her assistant that it is $6. I was shocked. These little pots have less than 2.5 ml of liquid, literally a few drops of each item and she had the audacity to charge for it after a procedure that cost $250 in my case add $75 to that. Here is another piece of advice do not pay for your touch up appointment till you do it. When I was there I heard her ask the client that was leaving if she wanted to pay for her second appointment then and she said no. I wish I would have done that. Then maybe I wouldn't have been locked into going back to her. All together I paid over $900 for a blade and shade procedure for my eyebrows and I am not satisfied I have to touch them up every day because the color is faded. Since my touch up I tried reaching out to her by phone and sent an email with pics and got no reply. In my opinion Nico seems more interested in her financial gains and is not as committed to customer satisfaction and how her clients look and feel. I wish I would have gone somewhere else. One more thing this was very painful more so than I expected.After the numbering agent is applied I don't think it had time to take effect. In my first session with this lady she numbed me when I was in the chair when by right it should be 30 minutes before. I had to be asked to be numbed before going in the chair .. My second appointment which was Touch up she cancelled claiming Covid exposure yet she was posting all up in the place during that Time..Not to mention I was charged $20 for a mask for my friend when I told her we came together and we came from far (which she charged because she wanted my friend outside)...the only reason I went back is because my eyebrows looked like shit and I wanted her to fix my brows properly with all the damn money I spent and without rushing ...both sessions were finished within 30-45 minutes and normally these things you take your time and provide quality work..maximum 2-2 1/2 hours .. Normally other micro blading artists dont like to work on other people's work freshly done because everyone does their work different and that's the only reason I decided to let her fix it in the touch up.. I felt like it was so rushed...all this bitch cared about is the money ! And charged me 75 extra because she claimed I was bleeding too much yet she did it...if she felt I would pass out then don't do it..or let me boook for another time..might as well not do it and keep the deposit for booking the fucking appointment. Also she says the 75 is for insurance but she should already have insurance where in case something happen your ok ...if not cancel the appointment!! On November 30th I got my eyebrows microblade by Nicole DaCosta (owner of Babe with a Blade). Before getting the actual work done I reached out to her several times inquiring about it, I even send a pic of one of her client and told her that was exactly how i wanted my brows. After my eyebrows were completed I wasn't impress and I expressed how I felt about me brows, but she reassured me everything will look exactly how I want it after the touch up. Based on my work schedule, school schedule and prior obligations it was impossible to book the follow up touch appointment exactly 2 weeks from initial visit. We sat there and I verbally expressed these concerns, and also that I wont be in the country (I was throwing my little sister a surprise birthday party) and would the weather affect my brows in any way. We verbally agreed on January 23rd, and a email was sent to my phone but I over looked it (assuming everything was okay since we are in the middle of setting up the follow up appointment and finishing up with payment). On January 14th I received a text message reminding me of my follow appointment which was book for the 16th instead of the 23rd as we spoke about. I immediately reached out to her and said "hey, I just realize my confirmation was for the 16th. I am not in the country and won't be back until the 21st, also I thought we initially booked my touch up for the 23rd". She responded and said that a confirmation email was sent and if I would like to reschedule my appointment that is on the 16th to the 23rd this would be an additional $200. As per Mrs. DaCosta all rescheduling must be done 7 days prior to appointment. I was never told this, I even checked her page at the time and never saw this,and if that was the case why not send a reminder text 7 days prior to appointment. After debating with her back and forth she drop the rescheduling fee to $100. I felt uncomfortable allowing her to do my eyebrows after all that, so i told her to cancel my appointment. Approximately March my eyebrows grew back in, and I realized the microblade was placed above my right natural brows, and were uneven. I took Mrs Nicole DaCosta to small claim court (which delayed due to COVID-19 until recently) to get my money back, and I was granted half my money. Keep in mind the initial payment was $350.00 (Christmas sale), I paid $200.00 for the follow up touch, and $30 in tip (not because the job was great but her customer service was okay at the time, plus she reassured me everything will be fine after the touch up). Another issue I had was Mrs. DaCosta (owner of Babe with a Blade) posted my picture on Instagram with caption "another happy customer". She knew I wasn't happy with my eyebrows, she also did a video that she never posted because of my expression after seen my eyebrows. So that caption is false advertisement. Also the picture was posted showing one side of my brow, which wouldn't show that it was over plucked and uneven. I had no idea my photo would be posted there, but apparently the paper work asked for permission, something I have no recollection seeing. She also rushed me through the paper worker, which didn't give me much time but I trusted her. I just think when posting ones picture on social media this is something you emphasize. Overall I am not happy with her work I wasted $580.00, and she tried to scam me out of an extra $200 (which didn't happen). I would never recommend any one to get their eyebrows done here, clearly she needs more training and also needs to learn customer service. read more

I was looking around on yelp for a new nail salon, and I happen to come across Babe with a Blade. My eyebrows have taken a beating in recent months, so I have been researching microblading recently. So I thought to myself, why not take a look. There weren't any reviews present at the time of my view, so I decided to go to the website for Babe with a Blade. I was very impressed with the user-friendly site and the various blading options and accompanying information about each service. I'm not quite ready to take the plunge into microblading, so I decided to book an appointment for eyebrow tinting, which included shaping of the brows. Upon arrival at the shop, I was greeted by Nico (owner) who was super personable and professional. She greeted me by name. It felt as if I had been a client of hers for months already. The shop was so well decorated and very clean. Very chic. Throughout my appointment, Nico explained the processes she would be performing as I listened to some great music. I just knew that this was a place that I can frequent. After she was done with the service, I was rather anxious to see the result. I know my eyebrows were quite sparse so I didn't want to get my hopes too high. But Nico delivered. My eyebrows look natural and have more shape.
