Disappointed. The place was pack, so we thought this must be the best place in town. We asked what were the local favorites. I almost got the Frito Chili Pie but the waitress talked me out of it, as it was greasy. So my husband got the double cheeseburger, and I got the tenderloin sandwich. We shared the Suzie Cues fries. They were sour, and tasted like fish. I don't know if they soaked the potatoes in vinegar, or they were just bad. My husband said the burger was ok, but nothing special. The tenderloin tasted good, but was greasy. Water had the taste of chlorine. I know others liked the place but not us. Vinegar fries were not something I would recommend. We planned on stopping here based on the reviews on Yelp but the place looked so run down that we weren't sure. Hubs went inside to take a look and because of what he saw we decided to not eat here. The restaurant was run down, very greasy smelling and not clean. We happened to speak to a local on the street & they said they don't eat there because of the reasons stated above. NucGrill needs to clean the place, spend a little money on updating things and they'd see more business. They have a great opportunity to be a fun diner type place if they would spruce things up. read more

OMG, I looove this dive. It is so cozy and fun! You get to choose wherever you want to sit, which I've been at the booths and at the counter, they are both great. If you sit at the counter though, you get to watch the cooks make your food and enjoy the easy and friendly banter of the locals and employees. They are so friendly and don't mind if you jump right into the conversation. The food is yummy if you love a good ole' hamburger and fries. They have individual pie or cake slices if you want dessert, I always end up splitting one with whoever I'm with at the time. Looks like a diner... And is... However the burgers were good. Had the signature burger with jalapeños. The jalapeños were clearly pickled out of a can, but the burger was fresh and good. Fried mushrooms weren't that great, but the rings, tots and the rest excelled. read more

Food is always good. Value is OK. Their pork fritter sandwiches are always my favorite. Sometimes their fried squash is over cooked but edible. Steaks are just Ok. Chicken is good and a community favorite. read more

Stopped on our way to Arkansas. Reviews sounded good. What a find. They've been in business since 1946 for a reason. Great food, excellent and friendly service. We ordered the two daily specials, chicken fried steak and broasted chicken, their speciality! Both were large portions and delicious. Our bill was $16.01, with two iced tea to drink. This place looks like it has never been cleaned with disgustingly dirty and sticky counters, floors, seating, and cobwebs literally everywhere (and no, it was not Halloween). Makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like. Everything we ordered was extremely greasy and thus not very appetizing. (Good luck finding service staff for extra napkins.) I felt the menu was lacking, but maybe the condition of the restaurant turned my stomach before we even ordered. We have only eaten here once and I refuse to eat here again. read more

Great little hamburger joint. Traditional 50's style griddle fried hamburgers with onions. Been eating here over 40 years. They have the best onion rings in Fort Scott. I would give them five stars but I feel as if the portions are small for the money. Also not much variety on the breakfast menu. read more

In town for work and found it on Yelp. The rings are very good. Old fashioned diner where they put a ball of ground beef on the grill and mash it into a burger while cooking Pepsi, rings and a small burger was $9.81. Burger wasn't small, I'm stuffed. I live in a town with White Grill and Del-Way drive in, but I would rather drive 25 miles west to get my burger fix at Nu Grill. I think they have the best burgers in the area. They are a full restaurant with daily specials and they serve Pepsi, which I prefer. Waitresses are always attentive and friendly. read more

Don't be discouraged by the outside of the building. The food was wonderful and the onion rings are amazing! The pie is also a stand out. So glad we went off the main roads for local food. read more

This is a great place to eat especially if you're wanting diner type food and atmosphere. While working in Ft Scott I always eat there and never had a bad meal or service.
