This would be a good agency if a few people had a better attitude. But I do want to say, Nikki is a…read moresuperstar. She does a wonderful job. Sadly, the lady at the front desk, Linda, thinks she bosses the place. She tells other workers not to do their jobs. She hangs up on callers who want to file a complaint on her. She does not know the law regarding public records requests. She tries to talk over clients and other workers' conversations. And she's all the time using her personal cellphone to record while she's at work. This has to be against policy. Jose did do his job, but afterwards he let the visitor know that a public records request was taking him away from his job. That's not the way a state employee should talk to a member of the public. Taking PRRs is part of the job. This could've been the easiest, most pleasant interaction in their day, but because the man was recording (totally within his rights) they had a fit. Linda even put a bag over her head, but she didn't let that stop her from talking over people, interrupting visitors, and making passive aggressive remarks to insult them.

This office is a lot better than when it was in Richmond. I'm glad to see a lot of the same front…read moreend employees there they are super nice! I know this has nothing to do with them but my son is able to start of fruits and veggies squished and I asked if instead of when they do the jar fruits and veggies if we can just do extra fruit for him and she said I'm so sorry it's a package thing that Wic does and once he's 6-9 months they can lessen the jar food and do $8 extra. I'm not upset at the people who work there they are amazing and doing their jobs great I'm more upset at the owners or county because they promote feeding healthy and fresh foods but rather want to make people give their baby's food in a jar instead of giving them extra fruit and veggies balance so they can make it their selves. Also it sucks that there's a worker that try's to force moms to breast feed and makes them feel bad if they don't. In the past I was having a bit of a hard time with one of my kids and the worker kept saying breast milk is better and just do it but sometimes it's not always possible and making me feel more bad about it I was already having some postpartum depression and feeling bad I couldn't provide enough milk for my baby. I hope my milk supply doesn't dip this time around but if it does I hope I don't have to deal with that worker I think all workers should be taught that baby's being fed is best whether it is breastmilk or formula.

The program does a great job providing access to nutritious foods, helpful nutrition education, and consistent support for pregnant individuals, new parents, infants, and young children. Services like breastfeeding counseling and health referrals really show how comprehensive and thoughtful the program is. What stands out most is how accessible and supportive the staff and clinics are. With multiple locations across the city and free services, it makes it much easier for families to get the help they need without added stress. The inclusion of tools like the WIC card and mobile app also helps make grocery shopping more convenient and straightforward. Overall, WIC in San Francisco is a well-organized and impactful program that truly helps families stay healthy and supported. While there can be some limitations in food options, the overall benefits and support offered make it a highly worthwhile and appreciated service.

I've been coming to this WIC store for a long time, and I want to start by giving credit where it's…read moredue--David and his brother are amazing. They consistently provide excellent service and have even taken the time to learn Spanish to better assist Spanish-speaking families. They truly deserve 5 stars. Unfortunately, this review is regarding two other employees--a younger woman and an older woman--whose customer service was extremely disappointing. In every customer service role I've ever had, respect and patience are basic expectations, and these two clearly lack both. I arrived around 7:55 PM, just before closing, and only needed milk. Before I could even hand over my card, the younger employee told me I wouldn't be able to get my full order because they were closing. I explained I only needed one item, but her tone was already dismissive and rude. If staff are unable or unwilling to assist customers during posted business hours, the store should consider closing earlier. When I asked for assistance from the older employee, hoping for a better experience, she responded with attitude, saying, "we want to go home soon." I again explained I only needed milk. She grabbed it abruptly, didn't offer a receipt, and didn't even properly guide me through the transaction. I've supported this business for a long time, but experiences like this make it hard to return. Poor customer service doesn't just impact one visit--it drives loyal customers away. I hope the owners see this and take the opportunity to address the behavior of these employees, because it does not reflect well on the business.
