Restaurant was clean, fresh and inviting. Decor is re Greeted immediately and seated. Chips and salsa arrived quickly. The house margarita was good, very fresh fruit. Alicia was friendly and attentive. The Villa Special is delicious, chipotle cream sauce with chicken, shrimp, corn, squash and bell pepper. The Chili Colorado was spicy but very enjoyable. My co workers and I went here a bit after 9 on a weeknight (they close at 9:30). We still got good service, but I felt a little uncomfortable with them stacking chairs and wiping down nearby tables as we dined. I ordered Arroz con Pollo, which is grilled chicken over rice with cheese. Good portion, and I liked the flavor. I thought the lighting of the dining area was odd, with multi colored lighting around the top of the walls that changed olften. I had to angle thei menu towards a beer sign in the window to have enough light to read it. Would be interesting to be there when it isn't almost closing time and see if the experience is a little nicer. read more

Nueva Villa is one of my all-time favorite restaurants. It's not fine dining or fancy Mexican cuisine, but it'll never let you down and is consistently popular with locals after anything from a softball game to a graduation. They expanded in the last few years, so you'll usually have no trouble getting a table--but call ahead if you have a big party coming. The cheese dip is an absolute must. As far as entrees go, you can't go wrong. The arroz con pollo, chicken fajitas, and flautas are some of my favorites. My friends also speak highly of the chicken enchilada soup and taco salad. You won't miss much if you skip on dessert, but if there's a birthday in your group, tell your waiter--they'll sing, bring out the birthday sombrero, and sometimes, pie the birthday person with some whipped cream! read more

Food is pretty standard tex-mex and restaurant is nicely decorated and clean but that's about the only good things I can think of. Their prices are ridiculous and last time I got takeout, upon arriving home (I live ten minutes away) my burrito was stone-ass COLD while my wife's soup was still piping hot. I called and talked to the manager who's only solution was "bring me my food back and I'll give you your money back CLICK". My husband and I went to Nueva Villa last night. With this place it's a 50/50 hit or miss. 2 large tables right across from us came in 5 minutes later than we did and were seated, brought drinks, and order taken before we were even asked what we wanted to drink. The same waiter finally came over to take our drink order and bring us chips and salsa. We went ahead and ordered the queso dip and our meal since we didn't know when we'd get to order if not then. By the time our barely warm queso cheese dip came, the large table near us was halfway through with their meals. When my husband asked why we were overlooked, the person in charge literally said "sorry" like a 12 year old would and that was it. Our meal finally came. I ordered a beef enchilada and a half chicken quesadilla and my husband ordered a shrimp quesadilla. It was obvious that my quesadilla got done quickly and before our other items. It was crispy burnt with a cold plate, yet they still expected me to eat it. Whoever was in charge was rude and didn't give a true apology for the whole situation and the waiter asked "well, sir, what do you want me to do about it?" They did not want to acknowledge or explain why we sat there while 2 other large parties were waited on that came in after us. Not to mention the cold food. Yes, They were busy, but for a well established restaurant that is no excuse. A severe lack of communication with hostess staff and waiters along with a manager that couldn't care less about customers is the issue. read more

Favorite Mexican cuisine restaurant in Florence/Dorchester counties. Frequent customer.

First the good: Margaritas good and good mex beer selection. Chips and salsa immediately after being seated, definitely a thumbs up. Most of the entrees are pretty meh for mex imo, but I've lived in the southwest for most of my adult life, and extreme competition there seems to bring out a better product. As for mex in the South I'd rate it ok. The service has always been excellent on the roughly 10 trips or so I've eaten there. The biggest problem I have with Nueva Villa relates to their listing their bean burrito as being vegetarian. Vegetarians beware - the refried beans are made with lard and absolutely should NOT be listed under the vegetarian menu. (I know this because I asked, and they admitted they were made with lard but just shrugged when asked why on veg portion of menu.) It's grown from our favorite Mexican place in Hartsville, to our only. In the past few months, I have noticed more attentiveness from the waiters and waitresses. Though it was never 'bad' before, sometimes (not often) we had to wait longer than comfortable to find our server and ask for more chips or beverage or whatever. Lately, though, I notice they're actively coming to check on us, even when we have everything we need. Now, to the food. The choices are many and varied; seafood, beef, chicken, pork (and also vegetarian if memory is serving). My favorite go-to dishes are Chicken Fajita Quesadillas and Burritos Deluxe. The portion sizes are satisfying - which should go without saying - BUT I've been to other places lately in which the portions are shrinking. Everything I have ever tried there has been tasty. The restaurant is cozy-quaint, even if the foyer is kinda jammed in close to the bathroom hall and the kitchen, but you're seated so quickly that it hardly matters. And the staff is always so friendly. [Except for one weird time in which a waitress didn't seem to like serving us. She rolled her eyes on our asking for more salsa, and caught herself, but I noticed! And it was at that time she brought us a regular bowl out with filled-to-the-brim salsa which she probably should have started with if she didn't like being bothered to, you know, SERVE. It was only three of us, not like a party of 5, even! 90% of that salsa would be going to the garbage because she hit our refill request at the 3rd time we'd request more.] Anyway. This is a great place overall, worthy of 5 stars! [I hope that waitress no longer works there - the more I think of it. At the time, I remember thinking we might want to move tables so we didn't have to keep interrupting her. I'm pretty sure dining-in patrons shouldn't have to feel that way toward their servers when their requests are minimal.] But again I say, SO great, that if they hire a server who doesn't like serving, hopefully (it's not your first time visiting AND hopefully) you can turn it into a cartoon in your memory and recognize, hopefully, that even odd or strange experiences can happen at the best of places. read more

So she walks away and then I get chips and salsa. Now I wait....and wait...and wait. Finally I just walk out bc I'm not impressed. Piss poor service and the inside doesn't look all that clean. Huge letdown. Took my daughter there for her birthday. Told at least 4 people that it was her birthday. They let us sit for 2 hours and still didn't do anything so we just left. So disappointed in the restaurant today we got there at 1:45 was not seated till 2 o'clock finally someone took our order at 2:10 and we got served at 2:30 our waitress never smiled never came back to the table we had to ask for chips and salsa we had to ask for water the wait staff was just running around very stressed. So as we are checking out the bill added an extra dollar to our bill. I questioned it as we were there before 2pm Person said the computer does all that just the wAy it is. Food was good as usual.
