NuLu Bock Fest is the GOAT ;) Honestly though, this is my favorite festival in Louisville. We've attended every year since moving here. Parking is hectic, expect to walk (usually half a mile+ for us). It's so worth it though for all of the food trucks and beer tents, live music, local businesses selling a variety of art, baked goods, etc, and the goats! This is a great festival for groups of friends or families to attend.

2025 was great! The weather, the beer, the food, and the crowd. It felt like half of Louisville was there. My friend and I arrived around 2 and four hours later realized we still hadn't seen everything. The Bock Fest has grown and become popular. The goat races are fun, but roaming the shops, vendors, beer and food trucks has become just as much the drawl. This year's crowd was insane and personally, I wouldn't have enjoyed it with younger kids, but some parents were super troopers and made it happen. A beer does give you an ounce more patience! Kudos to the DJ at the goat races. He was phenomenal. Wear comfy shoes friends - lots of walking and standing. Lots of standing in line too for the food and drinks. Plus, street parking is packed so there's walking to and from the car.

Headed out after a couple of years of covid to our first festival. We were really looking forward to it and it was festive for sure. But for us still way too many people to be around even outside. Folks were lined up 5 deep to watch the goat races so really hard to see. It was so crowded it was even difficult to get to the vendors. It was also a pretty cold day. But with all of that being said it was great to be out, see crowds which we did from a distance for a short period of time and see people enjoying themselves in a fun family oriented atmosphere. Hoping next year will being more of the same with less worry of covid. I will try again next year. Thanks to NULU for hosting thus great event.

    Baby any goats!!!

Y'all. Year two and they seem to have found their footing! Better attended, better advertised.... And with the weather this year....spectacular! Beer and goats. Goats and beer. Street festivals are almost always fun. But throw in cute baby animals and basically a barnyard petting zoo, and they get even better! The first year (2016) was a little lackluster and I think people just weren't sure what to expect. But people got it this year! Walk around in the sun, with a beer in hand, and watch some goats run around! What more do you need?

    Best fest ever!!!

Had an absolute blast at NuLu Fest. This was my first ever. I had spent the whole summer saying I would make it to an event downtown and I finally did. It did not disappoint! Everything including the vendors, music, booze, food, and local art were great! Parking was a breeze also. This will be on my to-do list for next year!

Not exactly what I expected. I think I was expecting more booths (but not to the extent of the state fair). Even with everything that went wrong for me that day, I still had fun. I enjoyed walking around Nulu and browsing the shops. There are several stores that I will make an effort to go back to. The goat racing was a highlight for me. I didn't have any of the beers or food as I had eaten prior to walking to the festival. There is ample parking around the area, which was nice. Now that I know better what to expect, I can say that I look forward to next year and actually trying some of the food and beer! I will say I'm glad I was there early as the warmer weather definitely brought the crowds later in the day.

So much fun at this well organized event in NULU! Wurst sausage contest (I had the pleasure of judging ). Goat races, beer, food, shopping, and bars. Loved everything and what a fabulous neighborhood! Make sure you stop by this annual event!

There will be beer... There will be goats... There will be food, live music, and shops open! This was the first time I attended this shindig so I had no preconceptions about what it was like from a previous year. I had read a lot of reviews that were saying there wasn't much todo but maybe we just went to two different events? I had a blast and I'm not even a huge drinker anymore. Usually at a festival with the word 'Bock' in it, it's a clear indication that it is going to be mostly about beer. They had multiplied areas where the vendors were selling beer so that was nice to see. There was entertainment for all ages. The live music really got the crowd going in between the goat races, they had Magbooth if you wanted your picture taken, face painting for the kids, a whole area for free thins to do for the kids, and all the stores and shops remained opened during the event. It was a gorgeous day outside as well. There was really no excuse not to come out to this and have a few hours of fun. Not to mention they had Wild Eggs there along with Steel City Pops. The strawberry popsicle really hit the spot that day. There was even a Yelp tent setup!! I can't wait for something like this again, it really was wholesome fun that you could bring anyone too. And who doesn't love goats??!

The newborn baby goats!! 2nd Annual NuLu Bock and Beer Fest!!

We had an absolute blast at the 2nd Annual NuLu Bock Fest! We saw some goats - big goats and baby goats!! We didn't see any of them race - kept meaning too but it just didn't happen! The beer choices were plentiful even for someone like me who is not a Bock consumer! The weather was perfect! This festival I'm sure will continue to grow and get even better! I think there may be an opportunity to do a bock/local beer tasting garden type of area with smaller pours along with the large pours. Kudos to NuLu for another great festival!

Huge success! My NuLu neighborhood was packed with visitors having a fabulous time. Mayor Fischer was there. Lots of press. A fun time for all!

Great atmosphere. Good place to hang out with friends and try beer from all the different brewery. Got to see all kinds of cute dogs from people walking their dogs. Also kid friendly. There was obsticle courses for the kids. Face painting.

Super fun!!! Great way to connect with local businesses. All uniquely Louisville with a wide range of wares. There is also a children's play section so it is truly fun for all ages.

The fall walk takes place mid-September, usually the weekend after Labor Day. Since Monnik has taken over the walk, things have changed a little bit. But it is still great! Hickory Street, on either side of Burnett, is closed off. There are two outdoor stages set up and bands play all evening and in to the night. In the event of inclement weather, sometimes the performances can be moved indoors at Monnik and maybe Checks. Beer tents, food trucks, cake walks, pull tabs, good music, good people, good times! The other neighborhood bars get in on the fun too, with bands and food or drink specials at spots like the MerryWeather, Nach Bar, Old Hickory Inn, and others. One of the houses near the center point of the walk area has outdoor backyard karaoke. I love this event, I love my neighborhood, and I love my neighbors!

The streets are closed to traffic , folks bring lawn chairs, there are picnic tables set up, which all makes for a fun, festive atmosphere. Food is available at Checks Cafe and a few other surrounding venues. Parking is on the street but usually available within a block of the venue. They typically have 3 or 4 Blues bands on Friday and that many more on Saturday. The event has been going on for years and the crowd is steady but not overbearing. So get a chair next time, sit in the street, listen to great music, catch up with old friends, have a beer and a brat and enjoy the BLUES. All for free, well music and sitting are free, beer not so much.

My husband and I went early enough to not be uncomfortably surrounded by people while visiting the vendor booths. Booths were a mixture of local businesses and groups or small business vendors selling earrings, candles, soaps, cookies, clothing and more. The food vendors were similar to being at the state fair, offering lemonade, corn dogs and funnel cakes. My favorite snack was the popcorn. For the kids they offered a variety of activities - bouncy houses and carnival rides. The Gaslight Festival is actually a few days of events. Most popular activities are the 5k, parade and car show. Street parking can be tough to find but some organizations offer their lot for a small parking fee, which raises money for their group. Keep this in mind if you're wanting to visit a restaurant in the area. (You're likely not going to be able to park at their private lot)

I was impressed with the amount of booths at this festival -- probably two or three blocks' worth. And these booths included a mix of local businesses and nonprofits, artists and cheaper gifts. For example, if you bring a child and want to buy him/her something inexpensive, you can probably find it here. There is also a car show, which is fun to browse, as well as rides, live music and a variety of fair food. The kettle corn stand made the main thoroughfare smell amazing and rightfully so had a decently long line, which included me. A favorite part was that walking the streets of the festival allowed me to slow down enough to really take in the buildings and businesses lining downtown Jtown. I didn't know that Jtown had its on archeological society, for example. It also provided me an opportunity to check out the new Feast BBQ that just opened in downtown Jtown. Parking was decently easy to come by -- an added plus. It seems like Jtown is becoming a more and more popular place to live and do business. It was fun to see all of this on display at the Gaslight Festival.
