This is an inexpensive Chinese take out. There is no seating. The menu is extensive with choices of all the favorites. A few mentionable items. The sweet and sour pork is just that. Fried pork in one container and a side of sauce. The sauce was no where near enough when portioning out the pork. This is one of my favorite foods and I would not order again. The chicken Lo Mein was really good so everyone in our party gravitated towards it. We also had sczehuan chicken that was quite good. Rice most meals come with white rice, I don't suggest you pay up for fried rice as it's just plain rice fried? Finally I will blame this on transport after pick up but both pork and vegetable egg rolls were mushy and flavorless. So I guess this place is hit or miss. Oh and if you order, make sure you get your soy or hot mustard, We weren't given or offered so make sure you ask. read more

I love the number of walk-in small Chinese restaurants named Number One. Just all the American restaurants that claim to have the world's best hamburger. The fun finding here is that they are probably one of the best little Chinese places I've come across in a while. The menu is very common to these places but the difference is how fresh and well prepared the food is, at least at time of this review. I had Cashew Chicken along with fried rice and hot and sour soup. My wife had a Shrimp dish and substituted Thai noodles. Everything was really flavorful. The ingredients seemed pretty fresh. The staff was minimal but very friendly and seemed appreciative of our business. Over all a very reasonably priced meal that I recommend. We will be back. read more

This is the best Chinese takeout restaurant within Soddy, Hixson, and red bank. I grew up here and my dad always got us no 1 Chinese since I was a little one. Each year they get better. I always order beef and broccoli add onions and my husband always gets an egg drop soup and lo mein of some sort (beef or shrimp). It is always 100% delicious. The sauce they cook for the beef and broccoli is to die for! I will always choose this place over anything in Soddy (if I can get away with it lol) I do want to address, this place is not for sitting down and eating in. This is a call ahead and come get your food to take home kinda place. So if you're looking for that, I suggest going elsewhere. terrible experience. ordered General Tso chicken from the pictures behind the counter, showing chicken and broccoli. when I opened it in my car (because they removed all tables to eat indoors), I discovered chicken and yellow rice! went back in and she turned the menu over to show lunch. it said served with rice, but didn't mention no broccoli. on top of that you picked your bottle drink out of a refrigerator that didn't keep them cold and they didn't provide a cup of ice. I tried this take away spot a month ago, couldn't have been better; however, this past Sunday 09/29/24- 4:30pm, food was absolutely horrible. General Tso Chicken turned out to be General Tso Deep fried cornstarch chunks, no chicken!! The LoMein was so over cooked, or maybe pre cooked and held too long. Noodles were horrible. read more

The food here is really grateful Chinese food. They have a great $35 special that you can get eggrolls three entrées are usually get two entrées and a large. The rice is wonderful. It's not sticky. It's not gummy. They're very nice. Absolute hole in the wall- wonderful Chinese takeout! I have gluten issues and don't mind making my own sauce- it's quick and easy- restaurant was incredibly accommodating and make me dishes without any sauce. My family on the other hand can have whatever and enjoy all the food they get from Number One. The people inside the establishment are incredibly kind. Customer service truly does go a long way! I tried this place roughly 5 times when I first moved here. The only thing I could find worth eating was the egg drop soup. Stuff was either too salty, too bland or just off in flavor. You do get a lot of food, but if it isn't good who cares. I told myself I should try this again before reviewing since it has been awhile but I am afraid to waste my time so that should tell you something. Ok my daughter wanted Chinese tonight. So I gave this place another try. I wasn't thrilled with the beef and broccoli, so I tried the happy family and still wasn't thrilled with it either. The rice was the best part which wasn't all that good, it was over cooked. The egg drop soup was ok. I guess my Chinese craving is filled for the next few months. I can't recommend it if I didn't care for it. Oh and the price!! I ordered crab Rangoon, beef and broccoli, happy family and two small egg drops for a little over $30. They have never gotten a single order wrong for me in nearly twenty years. Some of the tastiest Chinese food in the southeast region. My wife loves their Black Pepper Chicken and Crab Rangoon. I order Szechuan (chicken, shrimp, pork) and quite often I ask for it to be prepared extra spicy. They are more than accommodating with your special requests! read more

The Mrs. and I get a hankering for Chinese takeout. This place does have a few tables and chairs where you can sit inside and eat your food. However we usually take it home to eat and watch a Netflix. When you come in they usually will greet you with a "phone number? Or name?" Once they figure out who you are and what your order is they grab your order And it comes out fairly hot. The price is usually reasonable and comparable to other Chinese takeout places the order is usually correct and somewhat enjoyable. It's good enough to satisfy your craving for Chinese food. But There is nothing earth shattering about the service or the food or the location. Just your average Chinese food place. We order from here a lot. We've only done take out and we've always been satisfied with our food. The tofu is cooked evenly and they are generous with their portions. I can feed my family of five with a combo and a tofu order. I wish they did take cards but thankfully they do accept checks. read more
