I want to take a moment to recognize Number One Service Center in Allentown. Sal and his top notch staff provide honest , prompt , professional service in the Lehigh valley. I highly recommend this automotive center for all your repair , towing , and fuel needs. To be specific, I was quoted 2 different prices by nationwide chains located in my area , but neither could provide the needed tow service and one couldn't even do the work for another day or two. AAA dispatched Number One , and there truck arrived within minutes and the driver called in the replacement alternator. Upon arrival at the shop , the staff immediately began working on my suv and had me ready to go in a flash. They beat the one chain store in price by $300 , and another by $60 ( but that one I would've had to buy the part at one location and bring it to their repair shop). I felt completely comfortable and confident throughout the process that my car was being worked on by competent mechanics doing quality work at a competitive price. This outfit has earned a 5 star rating and my long term business. I will not hesitate to refer all my associates to them. read more

I would absolutely recommend this service center. I was in Allentown for the day for work, and on my way back home (which was 1.5 hrs away), my car overheated & started spewing steam-smoke. I was far from home and not familiar with the area at all. I called AAA and they sent me a tow. In the meantime I was trying to figure out what to do w/ my car & how I was going to get home - it was 4:30 on a weekday and most garages closed at 5pm. I called two different garages and was told they wouldn't be able to look at my vehicle until the next morning. The tow driver arrived and was extremely courteous. When he asked where I wanted to be towed and I told him I honestly wasn't sure, he said he could always take me to his garage, #1 Service Center. I was pretty much at his mercy at this point, so I agreed. We chatted it up on the way there - he was very nice and funny. We pulled into the Citgo station/#1 Service Center. By this point it was going on 5pm, and I honestly had no expectation of getting any service. But the owner, Sal, asked me to tell him what happened and he took a look at my car right away. He fixed a visible leak and refilled my radiator, all he really could do at that point, and sent me off by only charging me for the coolant. I made it about two blocks before I had to turn around. When I pulled back in, Sal had me sign my car over to him for the next day and offered me a ride to the Enterprise rent-a-car a few blocks down. I walked (it was a nice day!), and managed to get a car at the last minute. I fretted about the phone call all the next day, but when it came the mechanic was able to pinpoint exactly what was wrong - bad thermostat and gasket. They fixed it for $130!!! He even credited me for the coolant I paid for the day before. I was so incredibly grateful for this treatment! What was already a ridiculously stressful experience was made much less so by kind and understanding mechanics at #1. They could have easily taken advantage of me - a female who knows NOTHING about cars and is pretty much at their mercy b/c of being from out of town - but they didn't. We had #1 tow a vehicle for us. Unfortunately there was some damage that occurred in transit but Sal was right there to make it right. The car was rare and parts extremely hard to get but Sal came through, got the parts and had the repairs professionally completed. Great communication throughout this evolution. My family has been going here longer than I've been alive. Everyone there is respectful and they don't try to price gauge you. They offer self or full service at no extra cost. There's gas prices are usually a few cents more than their competitors, but the service is worth it. The mechanics do an excellent job in a timely manner for a fair price. I always recommend them to friends who need work done on their vehicles. read more

Great service, always there to help out. Very knowledgeable on all type of cars. They do great work and won't do anything you don't need. Came out did a battery change for me, I thought it was starter, they tested starter and alternator both ok just dead battery. Also do my yearly inspection always tell me what I need, and show me how bad the bad part is. Came out and towed my wife's car when she had her accident worked well with the insurance company. Highly recommend their 24-hour towing service. A tow truck from #1 Service Center was sent to tow my car when the first person AAA sent was unable to start my car. The guy from #1 Service Center pinpointed why my car wouldn't start as soon as he got there, then showed me what was wrong. Once he got my car started, the guy waited in the parking lot until I drove off safely. read more
