It was Superbowl Sunday. My friend was in town and wanted to take me to a specific restaurant, but it was closed. BOOO!!! Fortunately we Yelped around and found Number 38. Parking was pretty easy (this is basically a large warehouse in the middle of nowhere) and the check-in process was cool. We were given RFID wristbands and shown to our barstool seats. From other reviews, it sounds like reservations are typically needed, but because everyone was trying to watch the Superbowl outside (with their dogs!!) we took the unpopular seats at the bar. Super comfy cushions, by the way. Whenever we ordered food or drink, the wristbands were scanned to add onto our tab. Love this touchless payment system. Wide variety of beers and a few cocktail options on tap. All of them were tasty! Love the bartenders here. On the far end of Number 38 (next to the restrooms) is food!! I did take one star off because the food was only okay. Loved the kimchi fries, but I thought the bao buns lacked flavor. I plan on coming back and doing this all over again... This is like the Equivalent of Red Rocks. 18,000 sq ft of outside area and free concert. They will have performing local artists and some famous ones. You never really know Yeah this is massive inside and out. When I went a couple of weeks ago I was so impressed. With the staff, food and the amt of ONLY local beers on tap. And some bourbon, wines.' Food. They have ramen, tacos and my fave Bao Buns. The Bao Buns are definitely the pick I would choose for the night. This is truly a socially distanced spot. When you arrive you guys can can assign an amount to your group or go individually. Individually just means you opened a tap just for you. Big group? Do individual. Unless of course you're paying for everybody. This wristband is your identity. This will let you and the staff taking your order know how much money you have left. Really cool place with a dope atmosphere! Really had a great time here today with my friend until we asked to sit at a picnic table which we saw was reserved starting at 4, but mind you we asked this before 3:30. We asked this short blonde bartender with glasses & tattooed sleeves to which she replied in a very rude manner, "Ok but I work here & I'm telling you not to sit here." Number Thirty Eight was a great experience all around. We enjoyed the touchless system for payment and the ease of using our wristbands... quite easy, so be warned! N38 is a massive place, well designed and laid out. There are so many seating areas / options, including their long bars and cozy interior spaces (for use once we're on the other side of COVID). Even outside, there are dyads, triads, 4 tops, picnic tables - you name it, they've got your party covered. In reading several other Yelp reviews and checking the weather, we layered up for our 4:30 pm outdoor seating reservation. Thermals for the win! As there aren't heaters on the lawn for those enjoying the outdoor seating, dress as if you're headed to the mountains, and you'll be quite cozy. We enjoyed PJ Moon and the Swaggers - a great show. Loved the acoustic vibe, their own songs and a few covers. We had front row seats and thoroughly enjoyed the live music. In reading other reviews, I learned that all live music performances are free and if the artists choose to offer a tip jar, you can tip that way, but this is at their discretion as they are paid via N38. The food? Also great. Not a ton of options (for now) but every dish we ordered hit it out of the park. Asian meets Mexican in all the best of ways. We shared the K-Pop fries. He had the Green Curry ramen and I enjoyed the Spicy Chicken ramen. And to wash it down, we enjoyed a few craft beers, a cider and a few cocktails. Perfect. I thought this spot was super cool and unique. I've personally never seen another brewery like it. The whole concept of it is that you come in, get a wrist band linked to your card, and then when you order, you scan the wrist band instead of having to do a transaction/open tab. Something else I liked is that tip was already included (20%) so when you're done, you can just leave. The girl who first welcomed us was lovely and explained how everything worked. I loved her energy. Can't say the same thing about the girl who cut off our bands on the way out- she kinda seemed like she hated her job. The beer selection is not too big but I didn't mind. They also serve food. The spot is huge too- with outdoor and indoor seating. It was fairly empty considering it was a Friday night. They also had live music going and we were jamming! Cool set up for a large group on a Sunday. I was visiting Denver and we went here after a nearby art fest. I got a cocktail and then a burger at another one of the stalls. The space outside was great - lots of tables, lots of room to roam. The coolest part? The wrist bands that you get when you enter. We came to Number Thirty Eight at 4:30pm on a Wednesday so it was preettty empty but still had a cool vibe. They played great music, had a delicious-looking food menu, interesting drink options, and super comfy barstools to boot. We had to leave just as that night's band was setting up but it felt like a great venue to take in live music that'll be even better in the summer. Drawbacks: While the no-touch bracelet system is kinda cool, it seems a bit wasteful and I don't like the lack of price transparency at the bar. I appreciated the nice design touches and typography throughout and would have appreciated it more if they'd listed the price of each drink somewhere so we didn't have to ask. Went in for a drink a little while ago. Took 45 minutes to get a drink which was poorly made. I used to bartend myself so I usually only write positive reviews and let it go, but they have 20% auto gratuity which i honestly don't think they deserved and when I finally got to speak to the GM Zach he seemed kinda drunk and it looked like he wanted to get back to drinking with the bartenders. Second time I've been here. The space is cool and so is the concept. They link your credit card to a bracelet that you can wear and scan whenever you order food and beer. However their internet was down right when we got there so even though we had the bracelets, we still had to use our credit card at the food and beer stations. I totally understand this wasn't their fault though. Unfortunately, the food was subpar. The Washington burger and fries were ok but the cabbage cobb salad was probably the worst salad I've ever bought. I think they could have put more time and thought into the ingredients and what goes well together but it kind of felt like they used cheap ingredients/produce. This is their biggest mistake. It's all self-service, beer is in plastic cups, food is in Styrofoam I don't know what the 20% is for because it's certainly not for dishwashers. All the food is self service, get your own beer, get water for your dog, get dog treats back at the hostess station. There's absolutely no service at all at this place. Beers are good. Food is not good. I have a horrible indigestion from the potato chips and weird hummus. But beer prices aren't even advertised. You have to always look up your QR code. One of absolute favorite places to come. There is always live music, great food options, and a hell of a lot to drink. The wrist bands make the lines for the "bar" go by super fast, rarely any waiting around. The giant tv outside is perfect for sports fans and my favorite part is the sand volleyball courts! I'd recommend ubering or walking if you can, parking is difficult in this area. You must be 21+ to enter (which I love because no kids are running around). There is corn hole as well, they could throw a few more out as they are always taken but that's how places like this (with great outdoor areas) tend to be! Also they have a NA beer which is AWESOME! The parking situation is awful. You couldn't pay me to go to this part of Denver 10 years ago. It's currently a construction nightmare. The problem with that of course is that there's no tally where you can confirm your orders... and you are just automatically checked out at the end of the night.
