The bulk of the gallery are laser cut wooden maps representing a variety areas, not just New Orleans. I loved the giant butterfly seat and recognized it because there's one in the botanical garden at City Park. There are also a variety of other artists, jewelry and even a super cool clock available in the shop. Well laid out and the staff was helpful without being pushy.

The owner was so sweet and kind, and as I checked out while buying a T-shirt, I mentioned I was walking around solo on SOS thanks to the Verizon outage. She told me she had service and that if I needed anything while the store was still open, to go back and see her. I thought that was extremely nice of her! She said she's been there since '08, so she was likely working during my last visit a decade ago. I'll definitely stop back on any future trips!

This is a newish space for the Fine Art department of the University of New Orleans. It is only…read moreopen on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5pm. And maybe not even then if there isn't a current exhibit. I went today to see an MFA student's show which is I guess what they normally display. Unfortunately the show I saw was for a student who passed before she could earn her degree. The space is open with 3 discrete rooms as well as a reception desk. All the walls are whitewashed to better highlight the art. There is a lovely patio area out front for when the gallery hosts receptions. Parking is on the street.

Our favorite masters were presented there: Dali, Picasso, Chagall, and Kipniss. We talked to the Director, Travis Wilson, about the history of Windsor Fine Art (they recently moved to 540 Royal Street, New Orleans, LA 70130), but mostly about Kipniss, who is so unusual! If Travis realizes that you are really interested, he may suggest you visit the second floor of the exhibition (usually closed), where you will find more masterpieces. If you are in New Orleans and interested in fine art, visit the place.
