However, I went on a day that coincided with a plant sale and it was absolutely wonderful to take a beautiful hike and then shop at the plant sale after. Every time I come, the staff are very nice and Talkative. They're willing to answer any questions and talk about the owls that have been rehabilitated. The trails are a bit wild and can be a little bit difficult to navigate however, it's wonderful and also feels a little bit more of a wild landscape than other places that you can go hiking. Highly recommend and Make sure you check in at the visitor area so that you can view the map and they can check you in upon arrival.

I have ancestors and…read morefamily members who fought in the American Revolutionary War and virtually every war since then, including me - with service in Vietnam. (I also served in the US Peace Corps under Sergeant Schriver, so I've seen contributions of US citizens on many levels and many "fronts"). One of the most controversial aspects is the memorializing or celebrating sacrifices of women and men who fought for their beliefs...regardless of which "side" they served during the conflict. The monuments at Winstead Hill Park are no exception. Granted, this was a significant vantage point for the Confederate Army in the Battle of Franklin. But, how should this area be commemorated? (Apparently some reviewers think it should not be here at all.) There are newer monuments to people who fought on both sides, especially those reflected in the 2021 "Fuller Story" located in downtown Franklin. But I am writing this review simply as my observations on a visit to this place. I am not trying to judge whether it should or should not be celebrated or here in the first place. The park has some easy-to-navigate walking paths...relatively level and smooth with only a few gentle rises to negotiate. IMHO walking paths in this part of the park, are very handicap friendly. A few markers dot the paths in this relatively small "park"... the staging and observations area for the Confederates. However, the actual "memorial" to the Confederate Units ("Sons of the Confederate Memorial") and their leadership is a different story. It is a very steep, difficult climb up a poorly designed and awkwardly - only partially paved - "trail". The monuments to the Confederate Units are rather imposing considering the limited space in which they are displayed. Once you arrive at the top, the view does provide a quite expansive look over what would have been the Union troop placements and defenses near the town. BUT, the access is so steep and difficult, anyone with limited mobility should not attempt...and if you are in a wheel chair...it is categorically impossible. Bottom line: a nice, quiet park area that evokes mixed emotions for many visitors.

They also have nice benches for shade and canopy while you watch your dog play. Lastly, if your dog gets thirsty there are fountains to ensure they stay hydrated.

It's next to the Sports Complex and Miss Peggy's Dog Park. Many people walk their dogs here and some let their small dogs out of the car without leashes. There's plenty of space to park and many paths as well as calm neighborhoods for dog walking. I was a bit surprised with how clean the paved walking area was considering there weren't many (maybe any?) trash cans. Tower Park is a convenient stop with people watching, a dog park, and other amenities, but I enjoyed Concord Park a lot more and it's a short 3 minute drive away.

This is the best softball complex in the Nashville metropolitan area. It was completely remade…read moreafter the flood and it is a beautiful spot. It has four full fields with 300 foot fences. There are some very high level ballplayers in its various men's leagues, but it also has several leagues for coed and churches to enjoy. The grass and dirt are perfectly maintained and the parking is good. I love that they have finally softened their stance on tournament play at these fields. With several ISA tournaments held there this year, the park saw some excellent competition. The tournaments are ran well and the fields are drug and relined for every game. Top notch. There is a lot of space behind the fence for home runs to land. This means that you don't lose your softballs and that is a nice perk. If you put one in the trees, that's probably a 400 foot shot. This extra space also gives many places to warm up without endangering the people in the stands. I love playing ball at Fieldstone Farms. The umps are great and it's always well maintained. If you play tournament ball or play at a very casual level, there is a league (or tournament) that will fit your skill set. The league fees through WCPR are very reasonable.

I have literally been all over the world, and this was more rules than I have ever seen somewhere in my life. Being that it was Easter weekend, we did not really come in contact with the front office, so all of the abundance of rules did not really have any effect on us at this particular visit. All of the sites are extremely close together, so be sure to say hi to your neighbor anytime you go outside. Overall, not many places to stay in the area, but this is OK for a night or two.

The features include WIFI, picnic area, fire pit, pet waste station, dumpster, playground, vending machine, bathhouse and laundry. The space was very private and extremely quiet/clean. We paid about $60 for a night which was definitely on the higher end but we get the features as part of the cost. The location is right off of I-65 highway and isn't too big of a detour. The only minus here is RV campers aren't allowed to use the bathrooms since cabins do not have one and the bathrooms are exclusively allocated to cabin customers. That definitely is a deterrent since the idea of an RV spot is also to pay and use shower/bath services.
