Less than 3 hours before taking photos for my May wedding in downtown Northampton, I took my bouquet out of the fridge to discover that it had straight up frozen overnight. The fridge was at the coldest temperature, and not only were the rosebuds frozen, but the foam-thingy that holds water was frozen. The bridesmaid's bouquets were ok as most of them were in a different fridge, but my cascading, bridal bouquet was toast. We called Nuttleman's, and not only did they make a new one on the spot, but they gave us some spare baby's breath to help clean up some of the bridesmaids bouquets. I was prepared to pay an arm and a leg for these services, since we literally had no other choice, but they were kind and did not gouge us. The new bouquet matched the rest of the flowers, and my pictures came out beautifully. The flowers were hastily put into a clear vase with no ribbon to even hide the bunch of tangled stems. Zero care was taken and paid $100 plus delivery. Do not purchase from this florist. Mary, who took my order over the phone, reassured me they would call her if need be, and true to her word, that is what they did. Although the woman who took my order over the telephone was very personable she failed to deliver exactly what I ordered & paid for. I ordered potted purple & also white tulips be delivered to a friend & all she received was purple. If a business can't follow through on an order then the customer should be notified. Because of this failure I will not order from them in the future nor will I ever recommend this business to anyone. read more

I cannot say enough great things about Nuttelman's Florist. I needed to send my daughter an arrangement for her birthday to her dorm at Smith College. They made up a beautiful succulent garden so that she can enjoy it all year. I also asked for recommendations for a cupcake delivery service in the area, since I had no luck finding anything- they offered to go buy cupcakes for me to be included in the delivery! I have been coming to Nuttleman's for years now and felt it high time to give them a review. I tend to frequent their shop twice a year when heading home for a family visit. I always hand pick a selection of their fresh cut flowers and have them arrange in a bouquet for me to bring to my mom. Not only do they consistently have a wide variety of fresh, seasonal flowers, but their staff lets me go about my selecting without micro-managing what I am picking. When I was there recently (this past Friday) the gentleman was working behind the counter solo and he happily let me rummage through all the flowers to select my stems. Then, when I needed his opinion on some color choices, he gave it to me pleasantly before helping to arrange them. Their staff is always courteous and go the extra mile - maybe some extra greens for free or a slight discount if I am paying cash. In a world where service tends to be more strained, Nuttleman's continues to offer it with a smile and a helpful hand. I always use them for my fresh flower needs when in the area and I don't see that changing anytime soon. read more

I ordered flowers recently from Legacy for a wake and they got Nuttelman's to fill the order. I paid over $60 for the flowers alone and with taxes and so on it ended up being about $100. When I got to the funeral home I was very upset, all that was there was a handful of white carnations in a white basket. I would have done better getting them from big y. I sent Nuttelmans a message. Their response was that they were told by Legacy what to put in the arrangement. Their response was that it was supposed to be white carnations, white gladiolas or snap dragons, white also to media and greenery. I told them that nothing not even any greenery was there except a handful of carnations. Their response was that they did what they were told. I will NEVER get ANYTHING from them. read more

My female partner and I met with Mr. Nuttleman himself for our wedding flowers. He appeared completely indifferent, uncomfortable, and barely said anything in the 10 minutes we described what we wanted. We tried to bring our enthusiasm to the table; he was unmoved. Later, I heard that despite Nuttleman Florist's location in the lovely gay town of Northampton, Nuttleman's Florist is old-school in creation (which we didn't want), AND in attitude. Perhaps Mr. Nuttleman's cold indifference was really homophobia. Regardless, his customer service skills are completely lacking, and, I would not recommend Nuttleman's to anyone wanting a vibrant, fun wedding flower experience. read more

This was a very disappointing experience. I gave plenty of notice for a wedding bouquet and boutonniere to be made for my daughter and her husband to be, and we arrived on the day of the wedding to pick up the bouquet and nothing. Nada. Zip. They had forgotten to do it. This was just unconscionable. I had given specific instructions that we would be there at 8 AM today, because we had to arrive in Boston by 10:30 am, and instead of owning up to the mistake he tried to make out that I had given the wrong time and misunderstood. They may be good at floral arrangements, but they're terrible at making leis (floral necklaces). For $50, I expected something more substantial (with more flowers) and that the lei would not break immediately upon wearing. I've never had a lei where you could see the fishing line so obviously. Such a poor outcome, I couldn't recommend this florist to friends. read more

I ordered flowers from Nuttelman's Florists and had them delivered as a welcome gift. They produced and delivered it very quickly, which was great. Unfortunately, the bouquet was not like what was advertised online. It had about half as many flowers and didn't even include some advertised flowers. And I had ordered the "deluxe" version! I wrote to them twice to resolve the situation - at least to refund the "deluxe" upgrade? - and they've just ignored it. Many people have many nice things to say about this florist, so they must be good in person, but unfortunately, ordering online was a disappointment. read more

Used Nuttlemans for our wedding 2 two years ago. Chip was so kind putting mini combos together so I could decide from scratch rather than from a book. I also didnt worry about a THING the day of I knew they would be there on time and that everything would be hand delivered. My maid of honor and I visited Nuttleman's two days before my wedding to choose a variety of fresh cut flowers. My mother-in-law was making my bouquet and the various corsages. My maid of honor and I were making all of the table arrangements. We had a budget and a vague sense of what we were looking for. We'd stopped by several other area florists but none had the variety and super-fresh flowers that Nuttleman's did. The staff were incredibly helpful and patient. Five stars all the way. It doesn't get much better than a husband and wife running their own flower shop. We chose Nuttleman's as a florist for our May 2012 wedding. We met and hashed out all of the details and really could have anything we wanted- luckily what I had in mind happened to be in season, so I was VERY pleased with the cost of everything. We also had Nuttleman's create and set up flowers for our ceremony site at Look Park (the Sanctuary). When I was walking down the aisle I was floored on how gorgeous it all looked. Simple, yet classy. It was SO perfect. They set up and cleaned up what we did not/could not take (we rented two trees- they even put white bows around them!). My bouquet was absolutely STUNNING. I found a picture of one on theknot.com and they replicated it nicely. My bridesmaid's bouquets were five dark pink gerbera daisies together with a ribbon. Very simple but so nice. The guy's boutonnieres didn't last too long in the heat- fresh sage and lavender were used, but hey, what can you expect in the heat! I live in another state and wanted to have a bouquet delivered to my girlfriend. I went online to see what florists were available near Northampton. I called the first one that came up on google and explained my situation and that I wanted to send lilies. It was a 35$ minimum charge with 7$ delivery. The lady on the other end patiently listened as I explained my situation and said "we'll take care of you." I was asked if I wanted to include a quote so I did some research, called back and included a little poetry couplet. The bouquet was a HUGE hit. First, just seeing "Nuttleman's" on the card earned me points right off the bat. Locals know that this is the place to go for high quality floral arrangements and the brand name carries some weight. They were put in a nice simple glass vase, smelled great and lasted a long time. The best part about them was the hidden buds that blossomed just when the boquet was starting to fade. My girlfriend loved them for weeks later as the flowers continued to bloom in different ways. They looked like a fresh bunch of flowers! I highly recommend Nuttlemans! read more

Every time I've gone in to Nuttelman's I've had to be the one to greet the employee so I could buy something.

I had been buying my flowers from Nuttelmans for years so it was a no brainer that I would of course go to them for wedding flowers. The staff was great to work with. While I knew the color scheme (purple and oranges) I wanted, I didn't know what kind of flowers would work to pull it off. After talking to Chip and his staff they came up with an idea of roses and cala lilies and purple fill flowers. When it came my wedding day and I got to open the box of bouquets, wrist corsages and boutonnieres, My face lit up, they were more gorgeous than I visioned. I received so many compliments on them. Also another wonderful thing is I didn't have to pay the whole bill at once, I was able to make payments and for a bride on a budget and who didn't want to charge anything to her credit cards it is very helpful! (and the flower costs were very reasonable by the way). I highly recommend them. read more
