There were 4 of us who attended the Galentine's Day event.... First time for 3 of us. The hostess I think was overwhelmed as she was kind of short with us. The winery was overly packed and believe the owner wasn't expecting such a huge turnout. The wait was about 3 1/2 hours! I tried calling to make reservations earlier in the week, but they were only accepting reservations for 12+. As we waited, there were lawn games to play, live music to listen to and fabulous drinks to be had. The choc covered strawberry wine slushies were absolutely delicious!! We had a couple appetizers while waiting as well... The spinach and cheese stuffed bread, baked Brie and pimento cheese dip. All excellent, and some of the best pimento cheese dip we have had. When we finally got seated, we ordered a couple wine flights and the bruschetta pasta for dinner along with the pecan crusted chicken wrap. The chicken seemed a little dry but the wrap was still fresh and tasty. I have been there before and love the winery. I will continue to go back as their food is always fresh and delicious, their staff is friendly and the establishment itself is very clean. read more

Beautiful facility. Good food. Place was not prepared to host a Galentine's Day Event. Waited 2 1/2 hours for table promised in 2. Ended up finding bar seats and ordered food. Food came out 1 1/2 hours later. Told they ran out of clean glasses and silverware. Hostess had no clue how to get tables cleared and seated. Spent a lot of money for such an unorganized event. This place was so miserable. Way too hot. Had to ask for them to turn the fans up but couldn't because it shorted the others out. Special of the day was mahi mahi. It was extremely thin and very salty. Not worth the $30 they charged for it. The place was full had a lot of customers but everyone was holding fans. Don't know if I would want to go back. They make a lot of money off people coming there but they could come off the hip and buy some fans. read more

Nutwood Winery is beautiful, nostalgic and amazing. My family found the Storefront, Dining Area and Vineyard delightful and entertaining. Cigar selection was great. The staff were very knowledgeable and courteous. The Charcuterie Board was flooded with a lot of delicious cheeses, rolled meats, olives and crackers. This was a great find by accident! We were headed to Montgomery and I saw a road sign for the winery. I am always up for a new winery experience. So I did a little more research and discovered their brunch on Sunday. Since we were returning from the game on Sunday, I timed our trip to allow us time for brunch! Gosh, now I have to figure out a reason to go back by LaGrange because this was great!!! Loved the wine tasting options..a few choices or lots of choices! Our food was delicious!! Loved the homemade bread!! I had the pork sliders which were amazing! Hubby had the shrimp and grits..shrimp cooked perfectly and grits were amazing! Big plus was there was music while we dined. Who knew you could visit a winery and eat fresh food in LaGrange, GA. This was my first visit to Nutwood, I had no idea there was a winery with a restaurant. I enjoyed the BLT Grilled Cheese without bacon for $17.95 with a side of pasta, 1 wine tasting flight (5 wines), and a salted caramel cake for $9.   Dillian did an Amazing job serving our large party of 10 and made sure all questions were answered and everyone received their meal. He was pleasant and very calm and you could tell he enjoys his job. I also appreciate the gentlemen that came over to open the sliding barnyard door to allow some light and fresh air to come into our section. Its service like this that makes you keep returning to a place.   My grilled cheese was loaded with pesto and cooked to perfection and the pasta sauce was SO Good, I wish I would have ordered a side to go. The salted caramel cake tasted like one your grandma would make, I'm not sure if it's baked in house or comes from a local bakery. Make sure you do yourself a favor and order the cake before you leave.   You have so many different wines to select from, there is sweet and dryer wines so everyone in your group should be able to find something they enjoy. Make sure you select a slushy for one of your 5 even if you don't like sweet drinks, it's a nice refreshing treat, especially on a warm day.   The grounds are breathtaking and very relaxing, you can sit indoors or outdoors, and there are a few romantic spots if you're with a date. You can play cornhole, chess, or checkers, and also enjoy live music.   I'm looking forward to returning. read more

Went to a murder mystery at the winery. The staff and service were wonderful. The food was fantastic and we enjoyed the venue.

This was my second time visiting and honestly, my most favorite of the two. This was a random, unplanned stop and I'm so glad I made the suggestion to visit here. Despite it being well over 90 degree Fahrenheit outdoors, we sat underneath a ceiling fan and caught us a breeze from time-to-time. We loved our dip and the wines were quite tasty. My favorite was the Southern Blackberry 36 wine aged in whiskey. Paula and Jennifer we the highlight of our visit as they were attentive, very welcoming and a pleasure to meet. Ok so here we were in LaGrange GA...... thought well it was a nice trip but nothing extraordinary until we stopped here. On our way out of town- I saw a sign for a winery. This place was an old colonial house with a barn type structure next to it. I am a sucker for wine tastings. We went in and immediately were treated and sat at a table. The tasting menu was brought with a large menu of food. Our server recommended a few wines to taste and we decided to stick with the base plan of 5 wines. This did cost 20$ but the amount you get is waaaaayyyy more than just a taste so my husband and I split a tasting. We ended up buying a lot of wine and of course they are not all for me..... I will give some as presents but then hope the receivers will open the bottle when we are with them!!!!! read more

I'm not sure how long this place has been around. We have visited LaGrange probably twice a year (on average) for events, etc. and had never heard of this place. However, I have seen billboards with a scene of an old truck in front of a farmhouse-looking place promoting LaGrange tourism. It turns out that photo is from Nutwood Winery... Wherever they advertise, it is not geared towards me apparently. We arrived here just after they opened at 11 a.m. on a Saturday. The property is about 3 miles off of the main I-85 exit for LaGrange and is easy to access. They have a gate and a short gravel driveway that leads to a southern colonial mansion at the end. Apparently the owners live there and it is not open for tourism. At the house, you turn left and the road expands into a parking lot (and an adjoining grass field for overflow parking). The winery / cafe is then on your right. We parked and entered. We got a table on the patio. The seating appeared to be split maybe 2/3 inside the large farmhouse/barn structure and the other 1/3 on a patio. The weather was great, so the patio filled up while we were dining. As we had at least one more stop to make, we skipped the wine tree (tasting flight) which appeared quite popular among nearby tables. The clientele appeared to be predominantly middle-aged women meeting for lunch, though there were a few couples as well. There also appeared to be some sort of party inside (women dressed more upscale - maybe a bridal shower?). Service was...leisurely, probably by design. This isn't the sort of venue people come to when they are in a rush. It was fine. The menu is not huge, but it was still easy to find something for both of us. I got a BLT (the twist here being pesto, which was okay). My wife got some pork sliders, which she liked (but had to take one home; they are not small). I sampled a glass of their Chardonnay, which was good. Inside they also had a bar area for wine tastings. You can also stroll the grounds - they have about an acre adjacent to the building with a few vines, a water feature, a couple of swing-benches, etc. You can also approach the mansion for a look. I would consider stopping by here again. read more

This was my first time and here and I will definitely be back. This is a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of Atlanta. The food was very good. They serve salads, sandwiches, and charcuterie boards. I really enjoyed the green apple wine slush. The service was good. Our waiter was Josh. He was very kind and generous. Ambience: It's conveniently located, but it still feels secluded which is wild since there's an apartment complex within sight and you can see the road from the parking lot. They've used the landscaping, plants and vibe to make it feel very nice. The patio has a ton of fans to keep it collectible in the summer, and I can see heaters. So I'm sure it's warm in winter as well. There's a ton of seating and varieties both indoor and outdoor. They had live music all afternoon/evening Saturday which I love. Food: I had the street corn dip and chicken salad sandwhich with the pasta salad. The pasta salad is 10/10. I hadn't eaten this combination of ingredients in a pasta salad yet, but definitely would recommend: sun dried tomatoes, banana peppers, olives and feta. The sandwhich was great. This is a great place to visit with friends, family or even on a date. It is a little over an hour outside of Atlanta but it's so worth the trip. The winery sits on 10 acres of beautiful green land. The building seems small at a glance but it's packed with an inside and outside area. We sat outside and there are fans up top to keep you cool and heaters up top for winter. The chairs outside are comfortable and they rock. That was a very nice surprise. When you are seated, everyone is given an ice cold bottled water and your wine tasting and food menus. The food portions are huge! I took half home for another meal. The wine tasting comes with 5 tastings. We had fun tasting the different blends. There was even live music outside, which was a real treat! Our server Aaliyah was amazing! She was very knowledgeable and super friendly. Nutwood Winery is a nice addition to my hometown. I've been wanting to visit for a while now so I decided to take my mom for her birthday. The weather was really nice on this particular Saturday so we walked around a little and took pictures outside before venturing inside to taste the wines. We were greeted by a woman who said there would be a 45 minute wait for a table and that we could go to the bar until our table was ready. We headed to the bar and was first told that for a tasting flight those are reserved for tables, but luckily we were able to snag a seat on the couch on the screened in patio. It was perfect seating actually since we were near the indoor fire pit and the live performer. We ended up canceling our table and remained on the couch since we could order a charcuterie board there. Wine Tasting: I ordered the tasting tree that allowed you to select 5 wines for $18. That's a pretty sweet deal. I selected the following wines: Felicity Raspberry, Nutwood Peach, Butter Pecan Chardonnay, Southern Blackberry 36 Aged in Whiskey barrels and one of the featured wine slushies I think it was a peach flavor. The Southern blackberry was actually my favorite. I really enjoyed the wines that I tasted! My only only complaint is that when my tasting tree was brought out several of my wine glasses had lipstick on them. I immediately told our server. She immediately apologized and brought me new clean glasses. Overall I enjoyed myself and my mom did too. I definitely plan to return. read more

Shocked to find a winery in Georgia, so I had to try it. Coming from California I was not sure what to expect. The venue was nice, but the wine was a lot different than what I'm used too. The blends infused with the Moonshine was a little bit stronger than what I'm used too. The lighter blend were more tolerable. We enjoyed all the salads, but the chicken salad sandwich was dry. Been here a few times and the wife and I absolutely love this place! They're brunch is PHENOMENAL!! Went for Valentine's Day last night and they hit a home run once again! I hate that I can't remember our waiters name ( curly blonde hair, slim, arm tattoos) coolest guy in the game. My steak was cooked to perfection. Hardly needed a knife. Wife's pasta was amazing. The spinach and cheese bread was so good we ordered 2. Love the addition of the enclosed dining area for the cold months and wife enjoyed the personal table lights( gonna be shopping for a few of those!) This is and will be our go to for many reasons! Very impressed by just everything! The food was all so delicious, from the rolls and fruit/cheese plate all the way through the strawberry cake and blueberry/lemon cake for dessert. We were a party of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) and there was plenty to keep the whole family entertained while enjoying a picture perfect day on the plantation. The kids loved playing with the lawn chess game while the adults sampled some wonderful wines. My personal favorite was the Plantation Honey. Super refreshing, like sunshine in a glass. I planned a bridal shower for my niece this weekend. At 10 the morning of the shower, the owner Trish called me to tell me there was no electricity. I was, of course, panicked. Not five minutes later, Trish called me back and offered to host the event on the property in her personal home. I was floored. Fortunately, the electricity was restored about 45 minutes before the event, and it was able to go on as planned. One of the best surprises of our trip. My girlfriends and I were heading to Pine Mountain so we wanted to find a local brewery or winery to visit. We decided on Nutwood winery in Lagrange, GA. and what a great place! It was absolutely beautifully decorated, Southern charm. They have a beautiful inside area as well as a covered patio with tables. The grounds are gorgeous with plenty of photo ops. We probably took 100 photos here but the star of the show was the wine. Most of the wine has some fruit in it but they did such an amazing job. They had a wine flight 5 for $10 or $12 and $2 for any additional wines to taste. And their wines were fantastic, crisp and fresh white wines and rich and flavorful red wines. I had the Silas green apple riesling, Nutwood peach muscadine, black cherry Pinot Noir, cabernet franc and the southern blackberry 36 aged in whiskey barrels with Muscasine moonshine. Wow, they were all amazing but the blackberry wine was fabulous, I bought a bottle to go. We also had a fruit and cheese plate which hit the spot with the wine.
