I have always known that this credit union existed in Lakewood, but never thought to join and open an account with them until a couple of weeks ago. I decided to go there in person to open my account, as opposed to opening an account online. I'm glad I did, as the Relationship Manager I dealt with, Christian Velasco, provided friendly and attentive service, which gave me a very favorable first impression of this credit union. Christian took all of my information to create my new account, along with giving him my opening deposit. Before I left, he gave me some documentation with my new account information such as my member number and account numbers for the savings and checking accounts. While I was there, I placed an order for an initial supply of checks, which was free. :-) I received the debit card and checks less than two weeks later. The one thing about this particular branch that I found a little frustrating was getting through the security doors, both entering and exiting. There is an outside door and then you have to go through another security door to get inside the main lobby. At first, I struggled to get through the second security door and I was afraid I might get trapped in that small space between the outer and inner doors. :-O But, I managed to get through them, both coming and going, thank goodness. Nuvision used to be great. You could call in and pretty quickly talk to someone in southern CA and get your issue resolved. Now, especially since the merger, good f'n luck. You will only speak to overseas call center people and the last few times I called in the wait time was 35 and 45 minutes. My debit card transactions are constantly blocked with both my business and my personal cards. I used to love Nuvision. Now I am considering using my Wells Fargo accounts more often. It's embarrassing when you want to do a business transaction and your card gets declined repeatedly even after you speak with Nuvision! read more

Nuvision has to be the worst bank in the country. The customer experience is worst than calling the IRS in April. And, yes, I have had to call the IRS during tax season. I opened a Savings account and CD's with Nuvision Credit Union because of their CD rates. This was a huge mistake on my part. Their website is very dated with no ability to chat with customer service and the message feature takes over a week for a partial response. The ultimate worst experience was trying to reach them to rollover my CD after maturity. I have spent over 2 hours and 42 minutes on hold for a representative to tell me she would send me a document to sign to do the transaction. This is 2025 and everything should be digital. I have a Savings account with them. I can't utilize Zelle with my account nor can I do a wire transfer. It's so archaic that I question their solvency as a bank. To add injury to insult, the document never came and I am back on hold again for almost 3 hours this time. I decided to close everything and pull all my business. Even the CD's that haven't matured. Lara in customer service was a god send!! I ordered on Amazon and then the cc I used was compromised so when I needed to return that item it created a nightmare because Amazon would only refund to the original card number even tho it was the same account. Lara worked and helped troubleshoot this issue between Amazon and Nuvision by setting a plan of action w other departments and then calling me and following up each day until we finally got it resolved. I received an offer for a banking special by mail. I called and it was confirmed that I was eligible to apply. The postcard listed the Seal Beach address. I drove over there only to realize it's inside Leisure World and not open to the public. So then I went to the Lakewood branch. After waiting 20 minutes, Vanessa Ruiz informed me that I was not eligible for the special. I confirmed three times and three times she denied my eligibility. I asked for the manager, but was told she would be busy for 40 minutes. I asked if there was anyone else to talk to and was told no. As I was leaving, another bank patron told me she also had a negative experience with Ms. Ruiz. As I was about to leave, Alejandra Lopez the branch manager called me over to say that I could in fact do the bank special. She made a comment that I do not recall about my tone, which I thought was rude. When my transaction was completed, I informed her that I do not have a bad attitude, and to ask her to look at this whole situation through my eyes. Her response was that this is a "teachable moment" for her staff. I feel it's important to say that I have been to this branch before and the previous Banker was great. read more

Olivia Constantino is so snarky. Please do not deal with her. My husband debit card was stuck in the machine. They said they would return with proper ID. I called my husband who works in LA to come and retrieve it. Only to know OLIVIA " SHREDDED "the card. Now we have to drive to OC or wait 10 businesses days to receive a new one. Don't bother coming here. They are not people to be Trusted. Manager Clara did try and do her best to make the situation better. We've been here a few years and like it. We switched over from another local credit union we had issues with. Their rates, while not the highest, are pretty high compared to most banks and other local credit unions on Money Market and CD accounts. Customer service inside the branches and online are great. I'm not a member yet of Nuvision but will be soon. (my daughters are) I am an online banker and so disappointed on how Ally Banking handled a dispute that transpired using the NuVision ATM machine. I was fortunate to talk to Olivia and she helped me more than Ally. The situation is still pending but the fact she stepped in to assist me says a lot. I like the credit union but not some if their policies when it comes to working with PayPal and other apps where you can pay others electronically. Too restrictive. I do want to commend them for the quality of their staff both at the Leisure World branch and in particular this branch on Carson in Long Beach CA. Last week I had to cash a check and I was very impressed with Aryana who helped me out. She was very friendly and efficient and welcoming. About three weeks ago, Jennifer helped me with a different check I was depositing to erase an account deficit and get me some cash from the deposit. She thinks out if the box which is rare for someone working at the teller cage in a bank. She also was friendly and always smiled , just like Aryana does throughout the transaction. As a customer in these troubled times, it is so appreciated. Excellent customer service still exists!!! Kudos to these employees!! read more

For the TL;dr crowd, Nuvision isn't cryptocurrency-friendly. I've been slowing learning about cryptocurrency since a friend introduced me to the concept a few months ago. Lot of (mis)information and scams out there so I'm taking my time. Most tradtional banks either make trading or investing in crypto impossible (saying it goes against bank regulations) or extremely difficult. Then there's the verification processes with the various crypto exchanges, which is another topic entirely and won't get into that here. Oh, Nuvision? Right. I came in here to see if their institution (I've heard from members on a forum that credit unions are generally much more business friendly and less restrictive what you can/can't do with your money. Navigated through the man trap (you have to wait for the outer door to close before someone inside activates the inner door so you can enter). Spoke with a lady at the information/new accounts counter and asked if their institution would allow to transfer fiat currency into crypto. She had to ask someone else and after a few minutes told me that they do not. No plexiglass here, which is a nice change of pace from my local Wells Fargo branch. Also really makes the place look open. Well, if I need an auto loan (probably not since I'm in the 800 FICO club) I know where to go. read more

My parents have been members since 1964. For the last five years, I have been driving them to another Nuvision branch, not knowing that there was a branch in Lakewood that was much closer. Since December 2022, we have handled our banking needs at the Lakewood branch. On our first visit to this branch, LARA, who is amazing, assisted us. She is professional, efficient, caring, and always remembers our names. After losing my Father, I have been handling all of my Mom's banking and taking her to the Lakewood branch with me. There are five people sitting at desks doing nothing. Well one is on the phone with his dude, and another on his cell. Came here looking for help to transfer money money. Buying a truck from my father. They advised me to call the other bank to get the routing and other info required. Then go stand in the teller line. These guys are waiting my time. Poor customer service! Children from the local university for sure. I will be moving my bank account and investments. A dog had crapped by the front door. Nasty. I notified the employees, they said sorry, and after 45 mins still hadn't picked it up. I provided verbal feedback about my experience, and was told those that are sitting are not qualified to process wire transfers. The teller im working with isn't very familiar with the wire transfer. I've been here over an hour. Sad face. Since write transfers are due by 11am i showed up here before 10am. Im not sure im going to make the deadline. read more

Incompetent people work here, in particular the loan department. Stay away from their loan services, it has been a nightmare for my husband and I. We had our house loan, which they sold with no notice to us (there's so many unpleasant details that I will leave off) and also our car loan which we paid off and have not received our title for more than 5 months already. Trying to talk to someone on the phone that knows what they are doing is a joke. Look for a better banking provider, this place is a joke! If I could give negative stars I would give -5. read more
