I've been a member for about a year. This is a nice small bank, not packed and a very personal bank, they make you feel like you have known them for years. When I first walked in, the 2 people in the desk Nikki and Ashley greeted me. Their customer service is amazing. Ashley is so helpful and made everything seem so easy. She explained everything for my requests. She gets the job done so fast. She helped me get a loan and made the process that would otherwise be stressful easy. Alec assisted me with the application and very accommodating. Letty was the one who helped me over the phone, very knowledgeable, friendly and gave me plenty of information to help me with my loan and not making me wait long. I've been with this credit union for almost 10 years and yes I sometimes will overdraft like $20 or more and all I had to do was call and I was given a reversal credit of $30 which I was grateful for. I had a bill come in late and I was overdraft by $1.73!!!!!! And charged a $30 overdraft fee, I called to have it removed and I was told NO because it wasn't their fault. $1.73 omg they should have at least called me so I could have taken care of the $1.73 overdraft...yes it was my fault, but for $1.73 ..,...I'm now looking into banking somewhere else and just asking all federal employees that bank there, Watch out!!!! What's sad is that they did help me out a few times with loans and financing for my car, but now I'm so upset with them over $1.73, all other banks will let you overdraft by $5.00 before they add the fee...just watch out family and friends that bank over at VA desert Pacific credit Union read more

This is the worst fucking credit union in the USA they lie to veterans to get them to sign up to their shity ass service. Do not open an account with them trust me. They are never open, they don't have a customer service number, and if you loose your card or someone does fraud they don't even have a fraud department. I had a loan with them and they upped my payment from 100 to 215 and they still over drew my account for 100 dollars so I paid 315 dollars. When I tried to get the money back they said it never happened which is a lie they took the 100 on the 24th of September and on the first of October they took another 215 and said "we called you to make the change ." And I told them "no you can't just change it without my knowledge" and they said "that's what we do!" Fuck them I took my money out and went with my original bank Wells Fargo even with all their problems they are still better then these fucks and they have a military side so you don't talk to a regular person you talk to the military side of the bank. I've been a customer at this bank for 4 years now. I'm not happy anymore. Their customer service has went down tremendously. This happened before covid. Service keeps telling wrong information, as if I don't know what I'm talking about. First they told me I never had gap in insurance on my car loan. I found my contract, then they said oh well you didn't add it when you refinance. Which I did, I got everything thing else on my new contract but the gap. So my car got totaled last year. Now I'm without a car. Second I called to to a transfer from my outside dominant bank, like I did before in the past for my credit card payment to this bank. The service continue to tell me, that I only did it through bank deposits. As if I was mistaking, not knowing how I made deposits to this credit Union. They are really nice when you get a loan. However when other things come up, it's unpleasant customer service. read more

Really poor, poor, customer service. Unlike other banking institutions you can reset your security question via email, phone, or online. With the VA Desert Pacific Credit Union only one person has the ability to do that which is ridiculous. Additionally, when you contact this person they never return your call. I left three messages and got no response. I will be advising my family and friends to steer clear of this bank. I also will be closing my account with them. read more

The VA Desert Pacific Federal Credit Union can be used by VA employees, their family members, and volunteers. One of my family members, who is employed by the VA in Long Beach, recommended their low auto loan rates to me. In my five years experience using them, the VADPFCU makes too many mistakes and seems very poorly managed. I first started dealing with them in 2004 when I used them for their low auto financing. These are the numerous ways they've inconvenienced me: 1. They set my monthly car payments at a different amount from what I specifically requested and signed for in person. Luckily it was higher, and I didn't mind paying it off a few months earlier. I also didn't have to pay a penalty for paying it off too early, but it was definitely not cool that they make such a mistake and I had to take time to check on it. 2. Every year they would ask for proof of insurance, and they would scare the poo out of me each and every time. The same time every year, I would get a "final notification form," which stated that I hadn't yet sent in proof of insurance and would be penalized if I didn't send it in within 10 days from THEIR mailing date. By the time I'd received the notice, I would have about four days left to gather together a copy of my license, a copy of the insurance statement, and their letter and fax them in. EEK! Way to stress out an already overworked schoolteacher in the middle of the school week! The first two years, I thought that maybe it was possible that the first two notices just got lost in the mail, not uncommon for apartment dwellers. But, the last two years, I politely told them that their letter seemed to falsely state that it was a final notice, and I hadn't ever received a first or second notice. To this, they replied that it was a different company in a different state sending out those notices, and they really didn't have any control over that, and they were sorry about it. 3. Fed up with their lack of service and wanting to pay off the car quickly so I wouldn't have to deal with the credit union any longer that I had to, in 2007, I requested in person and signed a document to increase my monthly payments so I could pay off the car even earlier. Yet four or five months later, I see that the old payment amounts are still being incurred. So again, I have to call them again to correct it. 4. After I paid off my car in April of 2008, they sent me a letter dated May 2008 thanking me for my prompt car payments, saying that I really must value my credit rating, and gave instructions to go change the ownership at the DMV. When I got the window at the DMV, the clerk asked me for the title, to which I looked at them blankly and said, "Oh, they were supposed to give it to me?" In that instant, dreading the thought of having to call or pick it up from VADPFCU, then going back to the DMV another time, I elected to pay $17 on the spot for a replacement copy of the title. It seemed such a small amount compared to babysitting for free. 5. Finally, and this one really takes the entire cake, just today, July 1, 2009, they sent me another letter thanking me for my prompt car payments, saying that I really must value my credit rating, and gave instructions to go change the ownership at the DMV. How prompt of them, just 14 months after paying off my car. Do you think they'll reimburse me $17 to cover the cost of their untimely delivery of the title? Likely not, but it's worth a shot asking for it when I go in tomorrow to close my account once and for all. read more

Update after dealing with them for an auto loan and returning to the office 3x, 20+ emails & countless phone calls received letter from DMV that the registration is incomplete. Mind you this dates back to June 2015. The level of incompetence is reprehensible. read more

I've been a member of this credit union since 2009 and am proud to say that my Credit Union has made many changes that are moving them forward to a better way of doing business. I've financed my Auto loan with them and receieved a 1.90% interest rate (Which is the lowest I could find from any financial institution). They're convinient being that I could use their atm at any 7-11 store. I did a balance tranfer from my AMEX (15% Credit card ) to their Visa (6.9% Credit Card) and saved tons of money! I'm all about saving and this Credit Union has helped me a ton! I'm very greatful and wouldn't change them for anything in the world. read more

Helen always helped my husband in the past, she has been there forever, but I was sad to hear that she is in another department, we hope she will be able to help us next year to buy a house. My financial advisor suggested I look into my mortgage refinance with a credit union for the best rates and am I glad I did! I chose this credit union since I was familiar with it. Jose Ojeda was my loan officer and did a super-great job from beginning to end in having everything go through quickly and seamlessly: he always kept in touch with me and answered my phone calls and e-mails quickly. Extremely poor service and unprofessional! Began an account in good faith, hoping to be able to access benefits at some time during my long career with the VA. Communication was slim to none and the rules for minimum balance change without notice and with instant penalty. My account balance was sliced in half over a number of months without notice or communication. When i received a letter threatening to turn over my money to the state due to "inactivity," it was noted that money was missing. My attempt to restore the measley $60 that was due me was met with lecture and a $5 refund. No way to treat customers... who are actually investors! read more

If I can give this credit union a zero star I would. My debit card expired July. 2 months before it expires I proactively called to make sure that I will receive my card in time. They told me it will be automatically sent to me and that no request is needed. June 29th I called and followed up that my debit card has been sent but I was told that it's not until mid-July as they need to chip the card. I'm wondering why do they need to wait the last minute to send my new debit card. Mid July I called and asked if it has been sent as I am going out of town and I need my debit card as I don't have any other credit card to use. At this point I thought why do I feel like I'm begging for my debit card when that is my money to use! To cut the story short, my debit card did not come and August 5th when I called to follow up I was told it was mailed August 3rd! My debit card expired end of July!!!!! Why do they need to wait for it to expire before they send a new one? Very incompetent! And customer service???? Forget it! They keep telling me information that apparently was not true! read more
