In 2010 I went on SSDI. As a single father of a then 10 year old son, I paid over $700 a month for cobra for 2 months, but just couldn't afford it. Neither one of us had health insurance for 2 years. Then I became eligible for Medicare. My SSDI income was over the maximums for CHIP and Medicaid for my son by $1500 a year. Obamacare was worse. Over $200 a month premiums and deductibles starting at $7000 that just rose annually to $12000 most recently. Simply absurd. Cash prices were not bad. $65 a visit if he became ill. Maybe once a year. Well, last December of 2016, I decided I had to get him something. I went to see Vanja Sullivan at Sun City Financial. Her knowledge and expertise was impressive to me. She found an HMO plan with Aetna for $141 a month with very reasonable deductibles. Has vision and dental coverage as well. I am extremely happy. He's now getting preventive blood screenings, visit to allergy Dr. and just in case of an unexpected visit to emergency room, were covered. It's also from the market, not subsidized Obamacare. Aetna has been good too. Answering questions promptly. Vanja then asked about my Medicare. I had done Senior Dimensions advantage plan for the previous 3 years. It looks good on paper, until you need to use it. The dental was a joke. No vision. I needed a referral to a podiatrist. A three month wait. Still would pay full cash price to see my orthopedic not on Senior Dimensions. So I went back to just 80/20 Medicare. I'm under 65 and Nevada law says I'm not eligible for the 20% gap coverage until age 65. (Why?) Vanja saw this and I purchased a for $88 a month, an upgraded PPO advantage plan through Aetna. It is amazing! I get into Drs. In a day or two that had a months long wait time for Senior Dimensions. Make no mistake. You DO get better service and treatment with better coverage. My previous work insurance was $200 copay for MRI. I had 2 recently on new Aetna plan, $40 copay. Plus it comes with $1000 of dental per year which you can use for whatever you wish. That covers the $88 a month. Vision is free exam and $125 towards glasses. I'm now looking at hip replacement surgery. Finances are not an issue. Plus excellent Drs. Bottom line. Do yourself and family members a favor and call Vanja Sullivan at Sun City Financial. Won't hurt a thing to listen to what she has to say. Long review huh. But truthful. read more

Attended a Social Security Benefits information class held by this firm at CSN on a Saturday, it was very informative and when leaving was told that with the class I was entitled to a sit down with the instructor Steve for a strategy session at his office, while my husband could not attend this meeting I was intent on going because, well it was included in the class but Steve Roeth was the kind of person that you just knew was genuine and trustworthy.
