It reminded me of rowing where you have to pay a lot of attention to form and figuring it out before you get the hang of it. Though I don't think you'll really injure yourself here like you can with your back in rowing. I do Pilates at least once a week, walk daily, lift and do yoga, but need to find a little extra cardio I actually enjoy, so as a class pass junkie I signed up for this. It's close to my house but less walkable unless you have a lot of time. I'm always surprised there aren't any fitness studios besides Barry's at the waterfront . The highlight of this studio was the staff. From the front desk really being welcoming, having your locker already ready, and quickly able to instruct you on how to use the machine, it was really helpful. The class instructor was also very helpful after class when I explained what was not working well and he had a solutions focused mindset as well as letting me know that it took him 3 to 5 classes to kind of figure out what he liked. I was putting my weight in the front of my foot the entire time-- it seemed intuitive to me because the front of your foot is what's locked into the step -- but I knew something was wrong because my feet were numb the entire time I felt like I was walking in heels on a bike. Then when I sat down, my butt was sore, but I'm sure you would adjust to that eventually. He had a good explanation of where to put your weight in where you should feel the muscle that I will use next time. It was definitely a good workout, I actually sweat which I never do in most classes. Major tips: - if you're large chested in the strength class you'll need a strong sports bra like you would for soccer. You're welcome - Don't start with a strength class. As much as I love the weight piece you get a better feel of the bike, taking the centered class. - if it's your first class come 10 mins early or so + time to park. I came w 5 and cut it close trying to learn the bike and get locked in--literally. - Highly rec if you're in between shoe sizes go up a size. - Push from the back of your legs with your weight on your heels not the ball of your foot. Areas of improvement: - additional mic speakers or better distribution between the mic and music It was hard to hear the instructions sometimes - I wish you'd be able to opt in to receiving your "metrics" I feel like anybody showing up for a workout class has a win--most people don't go. There's so much competition in the corporate world and everywhere outside of work, just knowing your own stats, less so compared to others would maybe be more beneficial. I will definitely be back to try one of the centered classes that seems to be less competitive and more on the bike vs standing while I warm up my skills. Thanks all!

I really wanted to write this because no where at all was I told that there would be flashing strobe lights on the ceiling. I was kind of shuttled into the place very quickly, there was no orientation or safety warning etc. I was helped onto a bike, which I appreciated, but that was about all the customer service I received. It was honestly so busy, like a zoo. I would recommend calling beforehand and going at one of their less busy times if you need a bit of extra support. Staff were clearly swamped and running around trying to get everything handled. Even then, the class started late. Now, I am not epileptic, but I do take an anti-convulsant for light sensitivity. I was stunned that there was no warning about these lights. I think this is a serious safety issue. For those who are epileptic or at risk of seizures, this type of lighting needs to be explained so they have the opportunity to either take an anti-convulsant or just opt out of trying the class completely. Since I was shuttled in so fast, I had no warning about these lights at all. Thankfully, I had taken my anti-convulsant that morning, so was not at risk. It's just crazy to me that there was no warning or safety orientation. I was thinking that there maybe was a warning on the paper I signed when I came in, but there was no reading of the paper - it was simply "Sign this and tell me your shoe size". Otherwise the class was good. I had Lindsey (?) I believe. She was a great motivator. I would absolutely take that class again. The studio itself is clean and seems well taken care of. Everything is kind of all over the place, but that isn't really a problem for me. In the actual spin rooms, there are a lot of bikes so you can imagine they can really fill a room! Water fountain at the front of the studio has seriously cold water! It stayed cold all class, so I was very happy about that.

I walked in not see anyone at the front desk so I was really confused but if you just walk past the front door you'll get to the dance studio area. It's a little bit hard to find from the parking area but there are letters on the walls And you should look for the one under the E sign. Anyways the person who is at the real reception desk was really nice And there wasn't too much instructions when you gotten about what to do. The actual class that I took was strength training for 30 minutes and I would say that this is actually on the easier side for people who are used to intense workouts. It's mostly work on a yoga mat or standing up with smaller weights. The Iffg and there wasn't too much instructions when you got in about what to do. It's mostly work on a yoga mat or standing up with smaller Weights. The average age of people who come to this class is older and the gender is mostly female. Still the class was a really fun high energy class and the prices are usually reasonable for the class. Anyways probably wouldn't come back again because my preferred exercise is really high intensity but if you are someone who's looking for a more chill workout and a pretty energetic instructor and come here just to check it out. It's also pretty close to Fred Meyer's.

Local Business, No Tricks, Nice Facilities…read more I'd been hoping for a long time that a gym would go in within walking distance of my work. I'd tried 24hr Fitness on TV Highway, but it took too long to drive there and back and also get in a workout and look presentable for work. Finally, we have a gym in downtown Hillsboro! The owners, Carla and George are very kind, encouraging, and personable. I love doing business with a "mom and pop" over a corporate facility. Additionally, their rates are very reasonable and you don't have to sign your life away. I pay month to month, and can stop at any time with 1 month notice. The space is roomy enough, the equipment is varied and solid, and they keep it ship-shape. The women's locker room has showers, lockers, and some additional appreciated items such as body soap and a hair drier. They also have a group room and classes, but I haven't tried that yet. I don't need a gym to be big and fancy, so this works perfectly for me. The only thing I miss is a pool/spa, but since all other fitness needs are met, it's a small compromise. If you are interested in joining a gym in the downtown Hillsboro area, I encourage you to pop in and take a tour. While it's great that it's not yet crowded, it would also be nice to see them build this business and thrive in the downtown, Washington County campus area. Go for it!
