The quality of the work for both parts of this project was fantastic, and we're happy with the end results. The team was professional, friendly, and respectful, which really is important when they're in your home for a month. If we have any small quibble with anything, it was sometimes unclear with whom we should be communicating with questions or for updates. I own a few properties in the Renton area, but I live remotely. I've received a notice from my renters that the deck needed repair after discovering some damage. Until recently, I hired a management company to deal with all of these, but the communication with them could have been better, so I decided to take care of it myself. I was looking for a reliable general contractor to perform the job ASAP. From the initial assessment to the completion of the project, their team displayed a level of professionalism that set them apart. I live remotely and couldn't be there, so all the communication was via phone calls, emails, and zoom. I needed to set a time for them to come and communicate with my renters, so I went back and forth between the two. First, they came and assessed the situation and checked the shape of the decking itself. The deck has yet to be maintained throughout the years. They had to tear up all the old materials and prepare them to put on the new. Even though the deck was in a rough shape, Omer said the structure was still in good condition. He saved me money by removing everything down to the core structure, making necessary repairs, and installing new deck boards. They replaced the support post with the damaged joints, replaced all Rim joists, and added blocks between them. Finally, they level the overall structure. They ensured the framing structure was safe, secure, and at the right level. They laid the new deck boards using the Camo Fastening System, which worked out GREAT! They also made sure that the gaps between the boards were consistent. The balcony looks as good as new, and my renters are equally satisfied. Had siding installed, looks great, competitive price, was honest when I got an alternate quote for gutters that was hard for them to be at as an add-on. Only downsides were sometimes it was tough to communicate with the painter they subbed out to since my Spanish is poor. I also need to validate the final touch-up still. Also make sure you get any add-ons as part of the quote. I was hoping they'd repair some minor damage to the garage door as part of the project but while we're doing the final touch ups it seems that might get subbed out and may not have been included. Similarly was a bit bummed that there wasn't communication about restoring a small section of fence back that had to be removed but it was pretty rotted. They did restore a different section of fence that wasn't falling apart as much. The construction guys seemed top notch and supposedly are part of Hardie's warranty program read more

Had bathroom remodel in 2023. They left caulking residue everywhere , shower rod installed upside down, they drilled holes in door for incorrect towels rack placement and did terrible patch job. Had crawlspace serviced this month and they discovered bathroom pipe was left exposed and has a leak, not set up properly , company wants to charge me to fix. They state pipe must have been damaged by crawlspace staff. They say caulking needs replace due to wear and tear ..this residue is from install not use. If they would have offered to fix pipe issue without charge I would not be writing this. I let some stuff slide but this is rediculous after spending 10k on remodel read more

We had great service with NW Builders. We did have to stay on them about changing out some of the rotten pieces of wood that they were just painting over. They responded quickly and fixed the situation. We had several walk through to make sure we were happy with the work being done. They listened and fixed as the project was being done. The price for painting the house, railings and garage I felt was very reasonable as well. We are so happy with work that we have the team over for a swim party with pizza and pop! My wife and I were recently soliciting bids on a home repair job. NW Builders & Renovation was one of the companies we reached out to. They initially scheduled someone to give an estimate. I was then texted by another person that wanted to schedule an estimate, informing me the company has a $5000 minimum. Before I could respond, I received yet another call to schedule an estimate. Ultimately no one even showed up for the originally scheduled estimate. Over the following 5 days I received about 30 calls from NW Builders & Renovation. One woman that calls has provided me with numerous different names before asking if I have any other projects. It's as if she's unaware that she has a very distinct voice, and is easy to pick out. Especially when I've had the misfortune of answering calls from her every day of the week. Sometimes numerous times a day. I've told them several times that I've decided to go with another contractor and they say they'll make a note of it, and that they won't call back. If only that were true! Would steer clear of this company because if their front office is any indicator, working with them will be an absolute nightmare. UPDATE: I was just called AGAIN, just after posting this review, by a man that identified himself as Abraham. He was upset about my 1 star review, asking for a remedy. He then continued by admitting that NW Builders & Renovation records conversations with people they speak to without proper notice or consent, by stating that he reviewed phone conversations between the company and I. This is illegal in Washington State, which is a two-party consent state. At this point I feel uncomfortable that a business is so comfortable engaging in harassment. read more

These guys are amazing! Ben is awesome to work with and he really took care of all the project needs. He's the most responsive contractor/foreman person I've dealt with and I've had years of renovation experience with multiple homes I've owned. With anything, you have to have realistic expectations with construction. You need to have constant communication and the more detailed your plans are from the beginning, the better the outcome. I would give zero stars if I could. We hired this company to complete some work and paid a deposit specifically for them to file a permit. Not only did they fail to do the work, but they also completely stopped responding to us. We've tried reaching out multiple times--emails, phone calls, you name it--but they simply won't give us an update. They took our money and disappeared. Extremely unprofessional and frustrating. Rarely do I write negative reviews, but if I can help one person to NOT USE THIS COMPANY for any roofing needs, then I feel compelled to write this. This is quite possibly the WORST company to do business with. If you love your home and don't want to feel cheated, then DO NOT USE THEM! If I could give negative 100 stars, I would. Here is what happened. WARNING: long review (rant, really). Back in March (a few months ago), my sister was in town and thought she would be helpful by calling a company to fix a leak we've had in our house for some time. It only leaked when heavy rains came in. My father said he would take care of it, but unfortunately he passed away in February. A project manager named Aviran came by to inspect the leak and said they can fix it for around $1850, which was manageable. Side note: we really should've went with 2 more inspections / bids at the time, but it seemed like the matter was urgent. A subcontractor came by to fix the leak. They mentioned that a portion of the roof needed to be re-shingled (we updated/shingled our home around 2012-2013 btw) for an additional $950. They said it was a must and said that once we fix this issue, there will be absolutely no leaks moving forward. I told them I would like a warranty to guarantee this because I didn't believe him. The invoice came to $3031.88, which was paid in full and the 2-year warranty was included. Fast forward to late September (6 months later) and heavy rains came in. The leak at the same spot started happening again. I called the number on the invoice and there was a busy signal. I then called Aviran, the project manager, who's number was also on the invoice, and told him the issue. That the leak was not fixed. He then said he can come and check it out. I told him that we have a 2-year warranty and it states it on the invoice, so there shouldn't be a charge to come and repair it. He says he no longer works for NWBR (and yet he wanted to come over to "check it out"?!?!?). I had to ask him to confirm the phone number for NWBR and he gave me a different number than what was on the invoice. Odd. I called the number and spoke to a woman name Joy. She was pleasant at first until I felt like she was trying to brush me off the phone when I explained that I had a 2-year warranty and the leak is not fixed. She said someone will call me back later that day. No call at all. I then emailed them from the email address on website and attached my PIF invoice and ask for someone to get in touch with me ASAP. Next day - no response from either phone or email. I called Joy again and asked if somebody is going to call me back today and she said someone will. Finally, a person by the name of Ben called me back and told me that they will try to get someone there soon, hopefully by EOW and will let me know as soon as he hears back from a project manager. The next day, the doorbell rings and it's 2 guys in a van with a ladder. No NWBR logo on van, so not sure if it was them because there was also no warning or phone call ahead of time that they were coming. They inspected the roof and said it was a different issue. A project manager named Ron who called me to verify if the "guys were there" told me that "the guys" are telling me that we need a new roof and that there was mold in the attic, etc. I was completely in shock. How come they didn't inspect the whole roof and attic back in March? I'm not a roof expert, so I'm not entirely sure what's entailed in a roof inspection. Why did they tell me that after they "fixed" the problem in March, they guaranteed me that we would no longer have the leak? Now they claim we need a completely new roof?!?! ALL LIARS. Ron even had the audacity to say he was willing to subtract the money we already paid them to build a new roof for us. His exact text reads, "I don't have to, but I'm willing to help and deduct the 3000 from the cost of the roof if you want". I argued with him about our 2-year warranty and it just seems like it went in one ear and out the other. Ron also told me that if I call other roof places for an inspection, they will say the same thing. Now, come today when I had someone from Near Me Roofing company come to inspect my roof. They told me that my roof was fine, no mold and that the issue was not a "roofing" issue, but something a general contractor needed to do to the exterior of the house. Since our house was extended back in the 80s, there's a part of the roof that didn't sync well with the extension and now has some wear and tear, so a general contractor would need to fix it. He showed and sent me both videos and photos. He said he doesn't seem to think it would cost a lot of money, but, "...I'm not a contractor, so I really don't know". Very honest and dependable! I recommend Near Me Roofing and highly DO NOT RECOMMEND NW BUILDERS & RENOVATION AT ALL!!" STAY FAR AWAY!! Maybe I realize why Aviran doesn't even work for them anymore... read more

Hi, Erica. You are now the 3rd owner I've heard of. I never spoke with you during any of these exchanges. Perhaps it would have gone better. However, I didn't exaggerate or make up anything. That's why I kept records of everything, and passed all of that along to the AG. My mother was told the highest cost for the job would have been $2500 for two men and work done over 3 or 4 days. My mom is 72 years old and isn't familiar with contractors or how much work like this typically costs. (For reference, Home Advisor currently states that fixing a leaky skylight should cost anywhere $300-800). You sent one guy and he was there for 2 hours. You still charged $2533 (including a $1000 charge for a $100-300 flashing kit). My mother was also charged for "cutting away damage", but as you can see, there's still water damage around that window. We don't know if that's from the 9 days it sat with a crack open to the outside, or if it just never got done. My mom complained to Moshe about the window not looking "right" to her, but she was told that it was fine. Nobody came to look - they just brushed her off. The window sat that way for 9 days until I found it unsecured. I could see through a crack to the outside and could hear air coming through. You guys would have never come back unless I had checked it. When I pointed out the problem, then I got brushed off and told that I just "don't understand windows". That's not even what got us here. We didn't try to get the price lowered or refunded. We actually asked to pay in full to attempt to get you guys to leave us alone. My honest experience was that that the work wasn't done well, the customer service was awful, and by the end of it, I felt harassed over a bad review. Especially after being told that my mom would be taken to court over it. My advice would be, treat your customers with some kindness. And even if it is an old lady who you think doesn't know anything, listen to them when they tell you something is wrong and check your work because it may not have been done very well. This is the first and only time I have ever filed complaints with the BBB and the Washington State Attorney General's Office. This was truly a nightmare for my mom and myself. Arranged for NWBR to come out to my home to provide a quote for exterior painting. Rep arrived- nice guy but within about 5 minutes of our conversation I really didn't have any confidence that he knew what he was doing and based on that I knew that I wasn't going to move forward hiring the company for the work. At that point I thanked the rep for coming out, apologized for wasting his time and told him I wouldn't require a quote from the company. He was upset and asked why I wouldn't at least look at his quote - my issues weren't with price but lack of confidence that he was experienced enough to provide me an accurate quote and scope of work. He told me he was new on the job, and asked several more times to give me a quote. I apologized again for wasting his time but told him I wasn't interested and finally had to tell him to leave. About ten minutes later I got a call from the company - asking me why I didn't want the quote. I didn't want to throw the rep under the bus - told the dispatcher that their rep is the face of the company before I could go further explaining my lack of confidence the manager suggested I didn't want the quote because the guy was black (?????) at which point I told him not to contact me anymore. Five minutes later the rep calls me and starts yelling at me telling me I'm a racist - told him not to contact me again. Really rather odd. I don't blame the rep, after 25 years as a commercial sales person it was clear to me that he hadn't been adequately trained and was set up for failure - making both his and my experience in the course of our interaction pretty dismal to say the least. I wish I had come on here to read reviews prior to reaching out to this company to request a quote. I never write reviews whether positive or negative for companies, but felt absolutely compelled to write this review because of the constant spamming this company does, even when you have told them you are not interested in using them. If I could, I would have given this company a 0 star review. I requested a quote for vinyl flooring to be installed on Tuesday 11/26/2023. I had already purchased materials and was looking just for an installation of the floors. I understand how large companies can have mix ups in their office in regards to who is calling a lead, but this company is either blatantly ignoring requests to stop calling or not communicating internally. Either way, I received 6 phone calls in a 2 hour period asking to set up an appointment. I set up an appointment with the first person who called and within the next 2 hours received 5 more calls from the company from different people asking to set up an appointment that I had already set up. Fast forward a few days to the appointment date (Friday 11/29/2023). I met with the gentleman (David) who let me know it could take up to an hour to get everything he needed to quote. I personally thought this was too long, but thought, whatever, this guy is trying to be thorough. After proceeding with the measurements, I received a phone call. I let David know that I was going to be take the phone call while he kept writing up the quote. The person who called me was from NW Builders trying to set up a quote. I quickly let the person know that I was already in a meeting with someone from their company. At this point, I was getting ticked off because of the constant requests, when I was already meeting with them. David proceeded with giving me a quote, at which point I had to do a double and triple take because of how astronomic the quote was. I asked if he understood that I was asking only for an installation of snap in vinyl and he said yes, I understand. At which point, I asked him if I was doing the math correctly and he said yes. In the end he gave me a quote for $14,000-$17,000 for a snap in vinyl installation (labor only) for 650 sq ft. or in other words, he quoted me at $21.50 to $26.00 a sq. ft. depending on if it was off season or peak season. I let this gentleman know that I had received quotes for a quarter of the price he was asking and how it was an absurd price and quickly let him know that I was irritated in him wasting my time and that his company has also wasted a lot of my time with the constant phone calls. At this point I thought I was done with the company. Today, 12/4/2023, I receive another phone call asking if I was needing a quote. The person didn't initially tell me who they were from. I asked "what company are you calling from", to which they replied "NW Builders". This company will spam you with phone calls and my 1 experience left a very sour taste in my mouth. read more

Representative came out to the site in order to set up work, talked about work being negotiable and ending their visit totaling the options and stated a very reasonable and desirable price in person. They were very professional and enjoyable to talk with, so what could the problem possibly be? After all this they send me an email with a price being over double and an estimate that contained little to no information on work being done. Not a single line item had a cost attached to it. After three attempts reaching out without a response, I've given up. I would never recommend a single person waste their time on a business that operates like this. read more

BEWARE! Beware of invoices with charges added for work that was already included in the original contract. Beware of cancellation by Contractor of parts of project being cancelled without adjustment to contract pricing. Beware of the fact that although the contract states they will not begin work if a permit is needed-they will and do. Beware of the supplies they use which are not code authorized. Beware of Contractor refusing to give the name of the sub-contractors on your roof. Beware of lack of safety procedures being followed to protect the employees. Beware of Contractor previously hiring unlicensed sub-contractors that I found, not once but twice. read more

A gentleman named Richard called me unsolicited and started to ramble on about services I don't want or need. I let him know this and also let him know I was on the do not call list and I've never asked for any info from this company. I asked Richard to remove me from their list and to no longer call back and he hung up on me. I tired to call the phone number back to make sure my info was removed but it was a dead bother didn't contact me to anyone. I googled the company and called the number listed and the gentleman that answered was somewhat helpful but still questioned me when asking to remove my contact info. Just based on the un professionalism of their cold call and Richard's poor attitude and disconnecting the call when I asked him to remove my info causing me to call back, I'll never use this company and I'll make sure I let others know of the complete lack of professionalism of this company. read more

We had an some issues with our roof the past few months and really needed it replaced. We contacted them and right away set up an appointment with Ofek. He was very professional and knowledgeable. I learned so much about our roof and attic. I was very impressed with the whole process so decided to move forward. The communication with Ofek was so smooth. He got everything lined up to have our roof replaced. The installation was very smooth and now we have an amazing roof that is the best on our block. I feel so good knowing my family is safe under this new roof by NW Builders and Renovation. read more

READ their CONTRACT! Yikes. They make no guarantees and our deposit can only be recovered for 3 days after you sign. At first it all seemed great. After the 3rd day, they ignored their promises and my requests. They don't have the right equipment or people. I wanted a licensed carpenter and they said the company is a licensed contractor and that's all they needed. They sent one man two weeks late who was not licensed, with only a small folding ladder that was too short and no one else showed up to help on my steep roof. After their installer showed up he unloaded supplies and left. He came back 3 hours later, took a video of the material, loaded it back in his truck and I never heard a word about another schedule until I sent a threatening letter. They are playing legal games to get your deposit and not do any work. I lost my deposit and I have no confidence in this contractor to do quality work or send qualified workers. My attorney advised me to cut losses. read more

We used NW Builders for a roof repair and new venting. They were prompt and professional. They were very accommodating.

I called to get a quote on a resealing of a skylight. The project manager (Yanai ?) came out during the 2 hour window time. He gave me a quote of $2600 wanting to redo the roof around the skylight including replacing boards. I told him the roof was completely redone in October 2019, so it's not the roof--it's the skylight. He wouldn't listen. After sending the ridiculous outrageous quote, I once again asked for a skylight resealing quote and his response was idiotic. He said something something like "you want me to find a cheaper solution to fix the leak?" Yeah, resealing the skylight would be great. Incompetent and out for money only. read more

Wow this was an experience. We had a leak develop in our roof during the snow/rain the last week. After trying to find someone to take a look at repairing it this company actually responded quickly and scheduled an appt the next day between 9am to 11am. I took the morning off from work and no one had shown up until the "tech" as he was referred to called at 11:10am said he was late but on his way. This dude pulls into my driveway driving an $80k BMW suv, pulls out a briefcase of some sort and proceeds to stand outside looking at my roof. I asked him where his ladder was, don't have one I use the satellite to see the top of your house. I ask if he wants to go into the attic so I can show him where it is leaking. He replies no I know what we need to do. How? The issue is clearly from the flashing/valley. This nimwit proceeds to first tell me my 15 year old lifetime composite roof will need to be replaced in 5 years and begins to start showing me roofing material samples. Then says your looking at $3600. Seriously, you stood in my driveway, sat in my living room and never once ever even actually looked at the problem. This guy needs to go back to selling used cars. What a complete joke. Run away. Tomorrow I am turning them into the the BBB. Total scam artists. read more

Ben is a great person to work with! He is very responsive and was able to give us a reasonable quote and bring a team to fix a roof with lose shingles in 2 days! They did a great job! we were happy with the results and have also recommended him to other neighbors that had a similar issue. Will definitely hire him again for any future projects! read more

We contracted NW Builders & Renovation for removal and replacement of existing steps and railing with the addition of railing, gates and fascia boards. Initially, the bidding was equitable, however, with our addition of two gates, one additional rail and fascia boards they prices started to change drastically. We were also inconvenienced by their hiring of a few different contractors who prolonged a three day or one week job into six weeks plus. The owner wasn't very accommodating and only offered excuses without pricing reductions. He said he gave us a great deal and overcharged us. So to be completely honest and candid with you potential customers, please don't call this company because they quoted $8700 and we paid $13,000. This is ridiculous and the contractors covered our outside electrical outlet and didn't cut away access to it. I contacted the owner and he said he didn't like my tone and didn't fix the error. In summation I'll say use another company with better customer service and skilled contractors. By the way the steps are okay and railing as well it's just not okay to treat homeowners like this and then not fix your errors or overcharge for multiple reasons that the customer isn't responsible for. Moshe hasn't contacted me again about correcting the errors and I shouldn't have to call him over and over again. Not a happy customer here so buyers be aware. read more

I don't know where to begin, but first off, they are very expensive and don't think they are worth the money I paid. Then come to find out they don't give you the option to make payments and badger you with calls and texts to get their money, you do know it takes time to get approved for a loan! Then they threaten to put a lien on my house if I don't get them their payment. I would never refer my family or friends to this company. The project manager wasn't around to see what was going on the workers were sloppy and a friend of mine looked at the project and said it wasn't worth the amount they charged me for! Excellent company!  They did a roof/gutter project for me on a old home(1907) which required putting the overhangs/eves back into place with an additional wood shingles to remove.  This was on a tall 2 story structure and not an easy project. Ofek, the project manager, was outstanding! He communicates precisely and under promises and over delivers.  You will be so pleased to work with this team.  I called them back out for gutter corrections with some additional work and they did not charge me anything for this.  Truly a company with integrity and care for excellent customer service. Do not hesitate to call them for your next project.  You will be very pleased with the result.  Everyone in our community is totally impressed by the qualify of work that Northwest Builders and Renovation has done.
