While waiting for an appointment, it's kinda tacky to hear staff loudly talking about a call with another patient who was frustrated with them about scheduling, and hear them make fun of her and say things like 'I was gonna tell her the information she needed but she cut me off so good luck to her I guess haha' like... I get this is your job, and everyone wants to complain about their work or 'clients/customers' that they view as annoying, but this is the healthcare field. This is people's lives, and yeah folks get frustrated in regard to their personal health and trying to navigate the hell that is our healthcare system. Leave those conversations at home, or at a low enough volume that folks in the waiting room can't hear you. It does not fill me with confidence that patients information and struggles are going to be taken seriously and not mocked when I hear that in the waiting room. Also not being able to schedule an appointment 3 months out, when I was specifically told by my doctor that I need to come back in 3 months, is kinda ridiculous. I'll try and remember to call back and schedule myself in a few months, but it's very likely I'll forget which is why I wanted to get it put on the books today. :(

I was searching for a new physician after my primary…read morefor more than 6 years began to have longer and longer wait times to see her, then longer wait times to see PAs. It got to where I had to schedule my yearly Pap 6 months in advance, and regular visits (once for bronchitis at least 3 weeks out) as well. Dr Kemp was a physician at a local practice with several other physicians. About 6 months after my first appointment, I was alerted that she was moving to her own private practice a few blocks away in Orenco Station. Her staff consists of a very professional (and delightful) office manager and one of my favorite nurses ever; as the practice has grown, she's added a nurse assistant. The clinic is in one of the cute Orenco Station townhouses; very elegant with an Italian theme and three clean, comfortable rooms. Dr Kemp has helped me manage my medical issues with compassionate care. She is very professional, yet warm, and always takes time to explain to me what the issue is and the treatment approaches. When I had an on-the-job foot injury a few years ago, she worked with my podiatrist and Worker's Compensation to make sure the process leading up to the surgery (by the podiatrist) was smoother than it otherwise could have been (WC is a pain to work with). The only downside of her new practice is that she is extremely popular and *does not* shuttle her patients out the door after the insurance-required 15 minutes - and this means more time in the wait room, but it's worth it for a doctor who truly cares.

Annie Grossarth, Aubrey Harding and Elliot Taxman (doctor) have a questionable value system and moral compass for providing "high quality care" as a profession. People get away with things because they rely on others being quiet about it and I won't be silenced. Here are some more details I initially left out of the below review because Taxman seemed confused. While I was having a panic attack he held up his wedding ring hand in front of him and waved his hand around showcasing his ring-- I'm not sure why he thought that was appropriate? What does his relationship status have to do with my appointment? Is this standard for all his appointments? He seemed confused, I told him while in the middle of a panic attack I'm not here to date you??? I'll continue to repost this until the end of time, no patient should have to deal with this and then pay $800/hour My appointment with Dr.Taxman was incredibly disappointing. I had a panic attack at the beginning of the appointment, when I recovered I looked up and his head was tilted down and eyes looking up glaring at me... he looked angry? We just sat there and stared at eachother for maybe 60 seconds until I broke off the stare off. It was scary, bizarre, and cruel. Nothing warrants that response from a doctor. I asked about my issues, I have year round allergies I asked about and he shrugged and mentioned one drug, that was it. We went over two prescriptions I have, he said wow that's a high dosage when referring to my antidepressant, he did not elaborate. There was a knot on my throat he said he would be willing to see through till the end-- I'm OK, I'll go to another doctor. It's clear he didn't want me in the appointment and he had an attitude the majority of the time. He rolled his eyes twice while I was talking. I read glowing reviews from other patients who he's helped with similar issues before booking. There were STILL several other issues but I'll leave it at that. I overestimated his abilities as a professional and as a doctor. Taxman has weak character and questionable moral compass if this is how he treats people/patients. Imagine asking a doctor for help and the above happens. Then having to repost this review 83 separate times, Well Life & Taxman are trying to hide what happened. The next step is going to the Oregon Board of Natropathic Medicine. I thought Taxman was a good doctor but he was horrible, self flattering, snide, and indifferent in helping me. I'm still flabbergasted because I thought I was choosing a good doctor who could guide me to other good doctors and give me advice. He could have rescheduled me with someone else if he knew he wasn't going to help me. Edit: Since I said I was going to report my experience with Taxman to the Oregon Board of Natropathic Medicine because Dr Harding and Annie Grossarth weren't doing anything to help me they cancelled my medication appointment with a different doctor. Well Life denied me access to healthcare and created issues accessing my medication because I reported Taxman to Oregon Board of Natropathic Medicine. Annie kept trying to get me to talk to her on the phone instead of email, she lied about there being a glitch in Athena and needing to cancel my appointment. She lied about a required transfer of care phone call, she put a hold on my account until I talked to her over the phone. She was extorting me for more information via TELEPHONE ONLY which is undocumented until I received healthcare. This place is so gross, Taxman is gross, Annie and Aubrey are gross, the facilities are also musty and gross. The paper liner on the patient seating was dirty with spots on it when I went in for my labs and also when I went in for my appointment in a different room on a different day. How many other patients have had similar issues here and they couldn't defend themselves. Try giving patients kindness and dignity, get some ethics training as an organization. The one who I read had openings was not my first choice, so I was led to believe that another doctor, whose online bio appealed to me, would be shown the form I filled out and I'd get a response. So, I never got a response. I called in June to remind her and was told "the doctor was on vacation" blah blah blah. She promised she would show the doctor my inquiry and I'd hear back either way. This didn't happen. That conversation was on June 5th and it is now over a month later. I give up on this practice. How can you be offering "concierge" medicine which is supposed to devote extra time to patients and completely ignore a potential new patient who is willing to jump in and pay the practice MONTHLY whether being seen or not? Ugh.

They are never pushy, get your consent for any labs ordered, and don't go crazy and order things that aren't unnecessary. My pocketbook likes them. And it feels like a judgment-free zone. The MA's in the past have been great, but not too keen on the gal who took me in today. Nowhere is perfect but this place is comfortable enough.
