Clean, thorough and efficient are the 3 words that come to mind when I think about my experiences at Nwar! After a few visits for waxing services, I believe that Chandra is one of the best estheticians I've received services from! Aside from her spotless studio and level of care, she's one of those people that radiate happiness--you leave better than when you walked in. I found her through reviews after my previous esthetician moved out of state and I have only had the best things to say about Nwar. The moment you walk in she takes your temperature and gives you sanitizer, you're led to the table where you're instructed to place your belongings, and she gets to work when you're ready. I've had waxing services before so I know what to expect but she kindly explained the process (as every service provider has their own methods). As mentioned, she's very thorough and will take a tweezer to missed spots and even cools down waxed areas with a cooling wand (I imagine to reduce swelling/provide comfort). I'm looking forward to getting other services done (I.e. facials) and will sign up for her monthly waxing subscription. For about half of what you pay for a Brazilian, you're entitled to 1 waxing service of your choice and 15% off additional services. I HIGHLY recommend Chandra! read more

Chandra is so sweet, personable and informative. If you are within a 75 mile radius of this studio than do yourself a favor and schedule an appointment for a facial. It is such a great treat after a long work week or stressful day. I thought I was going to fall asleep I was so relaxed. I haven't had a facial since high school days so I was a bit apprehensive but mostly excited to try the exfoliate + facial option. I loved the immediate results. After a little over an hour I walked out feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and renewed. One of the things that I appreciated was that she described what she was about to do before doing it... Kinda like the dentist does. There were so many lovely parts but one of my favorites was the steam going on my face while Chandra massaged my arms. The salon is trendy, spotless and intimate. Unlike E.W.C. with their bright, blinding fluorescent lighting, Onyx was comfortable and inviting. My experience at Onyx Studio was so great! This was the first facial I've ever gotten, and Chandra was so warm and welcoming from start to finish. Chandra is great and her studio is awesome! I used to go somewhere else with a similar setup but the aesthetician was icy and uninviting, to the point that I didn't look forward to any of it and didn't even use my whole Groupon package. Not so with Chandra! She is warm and friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The studio has a really cool and stylish ambiance that's not stuffy or pretentious. I love that her personality comes through in her studio and her work because you can tell she loves what she does and takes a lot of pride in what she has created. I also liked the music she played (not the run of the mill ocean/nature theme so typical of most places) and she was great at explaining everything she did step by step. The location is in a great neighborhood and the establishment was very clean, chic, and modern styled fashioned. While experiencing my treatment I was given the one on one attention, I didn't hear chatter, constant phone ringing, or loud blow dryers. The ambiance was perfect!! THE BEST!!!! EVER. And no women ever says that's about a wax. What a great experience! I arrived just before my appointment, rung the bell waited outside for a few. She was finishing with another client. I was warmly welcomed by her student. Yes, I did choose to go to the student. Thinking the student would be waxing me. Which I was fine with everyone has to start from somewhere, I knew Chandra would be right there. But it was actually Chandra that did the waxing. And wow wow wow! It was almost as pain free as something like that can be. She took her time explaining to the student what she was doing and why. And wow let me tell you I learned SO much too. Honestly if Chandra was not explaining everything in detail, the wax would have taken minutes, she's that good and that quick. It's a such a cute studio place, just her. A table that moves up and down (I've never seen that at a waxing place before), cleaned the table in front of me, all new papers were placed, hands washed, and then gloves, and then the wax and I was out less then 30 minutes after I arrived.
