I've lived in the neighborhood for over 6 years and am a little bummed that I am just now learning of Chanara! Better late than never. Signature Free Waxing is a nice and private studio tucked away in the corner of a strip mall off Irving Park. Chanara keeps the space safe and private. The services she offers are extensive. I appreciate that she worked with to assess if I really needed a service I originally requested. She did a great job on my eyebrows! She is gentle and thorough. My skin is sensitive and gets crazy red and pimple-y after a wax. I appreciate that she took the extra step to apply some cream to calm down the red. Finally, she is so pleasant to talk to! I will definitely be going back and am thankful such a nice person and place are in the neighborhood. read more

Immediately after, and actually during having my arms waxed, I broke out in terrible hives. I was assured that this was perfectly normal and can sometimes happen to those with sensitive skin. It's now been around three weeks and I have a terrible skin rash that has not gone away. This leads me to believe that the waxing itself was done improperly, and possibly unsanitary. I now have to schedule an appointment with a dermatologist to figure out exactly what I contracted from this waxing, and hope that it is nothing serious. read more

I've been going for a few years to Signature Free Waxing....I recently moved and now travel 45 minutes to see Chanara - she is so worth it!

First time coming here but certainly not the last! Chanara was amazing! The place itself is very cute and low-key. The service was incredible. Chanara is very professional and made me feel comfortable. Also less painful than other places I've been to. To the person complaining about breaking out in bumps- it happens to the best of us. I have very sensitive skin and it happened to me once after going to the same place/person I always went to. I called the place the next day when I broke out (my hives/bumps were bigger) and they told me it was normal and to avoid wearing any tight clothing and sweating after waxing so that the skin can breathe. My breakout also lasted a few weeks if not months, and I was very itchy and uncomfortable throughout that time without knowing what to do. I started putting aloe on it instead of lotion and that helped a lot. read more

I've been seeing Chanara for my brazilian waxes the last few months since moving to this neighborhood. I've been to a number of waxing places, including high end spas, but Chanara's work blows everyone else out of the water. Her space is cute (and pefect for being covid safe since she sees one client at a time.) She is so friendly and sweet too. Had a great experience for my first waxing appointment at Signature Free. Chanara runs a professional and friendly business. Super easy to call and make an appointment and she has a texting system so you can set up a pre payment or appt reminder. I made a next day appointment for a full arm wax. Her pricing is very reasonable and lower than some of the competitors I checked. $30 for both arms and she will include hands (even though most places charge $35-40 for the arms and an extra $15 for the hands). Her place was cozy and welcoming. She's in the process of expanding into the space next door so things were in a bit of disarray but that's certainly understandable. And most of all, Chanara does an excellent and professional waxing job, making conversation and putting you at ease the whole way. I'll definitely come back to see her. read more

Chanara is the best! I kid you not! Her technique is unmatched. Yes waxing is painful but Chanara knows how to make a pain go from 10 to 1 really quickly! She can talk about anything under the sun she is like the bestie you go shopping with and having a good conversation is key to helping to calm you down during waxing. Ok so now to the nitty gritty: -She uses oil instead of powder to prep the skin, it helps reduce irritation -She is highly sanitary and does not double dip unless that whole waxing can is going on you for me I had a lot of services (full brazilian with buttocks, full legs, full arms, underarms, stomach) she is also very thorough and will ask before she tweezes if needed. -Her prices are quite affordable check it out on style seat if you can! -She checked with me during the service to see if I was ok and how I was holding up, and her technique was as gentle as a wax could be I felt like she was excellent in putting herself in my shoes. COME HERE IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A GREAT WAXING EXPERIENCE I have been waxed - correction, i tried to get waxed in the past but the experience was horrible! I decided to come to Chanara because of the excellent yelp reviews! The anticipation before getting there was the worse! I honestly thought that i was going to chicken out but i stayed. Everybody knows that waxing is not a pleasant experience and that it hurts. Chanara made this experience wonderful and very pleasant. She was talking to me while i was getting my Brazilian and after 5 minutes i felt like we were best friends. Chanara is a professional with an amazing personality! This is an update!!! I still give 5 stars! I drove in from Detroit to see Chanara!! I love her! She has moved into a bigger location and the place is gorgeous even though she states they are still "working on things". I received a full face hair removal and keep looking at my face like I've never had it done and my skin feels so smooth. She also sells her own essential oil good for men and women for skin irritation and ingrown hair. Keep doing your thing and never change! I can't wait to see more big things from you!! .... I feel like Chanara is my new bff!! She is great I have had awful waxing experiences and now I know all hair removal does not have to be painful or take off a layer of my skin. She may have even convinced me to do "down there" my next visit! She did smaller sections so you aren't overwhelmed with pain. And she got every hair the bare eye could see. Chanara is fabs! She is just so matter of fact and sweet and genuine! I have been searching for a great place for waxing and this is definitely it. Soon we were chatting like old friends even though we had just met and I'm often reticent. The location itself is kind of a funny little place- she just rents a room- although conveniently located, but once you get over that you're in for a treat. Can't say enough nice things about Chanara and Signature Free Waxing. I've been waxed by 3 other companies and individuals running their own salon, and her wax and technique is the most painless and the longest lasting I've had. I have been seeing her for about a year, and I get the full Brazilian from her. It's a quick 30 minute appointment, and I usually don't have to make a follow up visit for another 5-6 weeks. Other places I would have to follow up in 4 weeks, and the wax would hurt. She has never used clippers or hard wax on me. She rarely tweezes, but I'm always clean. Besides all of that, her prices are reasonable, and she's a very personable and kind person. She genuinely cares about her clients and just emits such a positive vibe when you see her - she feels like your long lost friend or sister. Chanara is the best esthetician I have ever been to! I had so many body parts being waxed, that my session lasted for 2 hours but those 2 hours were a breeze! Chanara is super friendly and we talked about so many different things, it made me feel as if I was visiting with an old friend. I do not have a high tolerance for pain and in the past I have had people stop mid wax when getting a Brazilian because it was way too painful, but Chanara's waxing was painless!
