She has a lifetime of experience in hosting events, from working on cruise ships to managing stage productions and of course her officiating marriages. She took all of the stress away from our wedding. She met with us before hand to find out exactly what WE wanted, but she also gave us great ideas we could use from other weddings to help us figure out what was our dream wedding. THEN she helped us edit our vows! My husband is Italian and doesn't speak much english. Michelle found us a translator at the last minute when I was freaking out! She goes well above the call of an officiant and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Lastly, because my husband and I were both too nervous to say our vows, she orchestrated the entire wedding so that she could say them for us. And Oh my goodness did she do an amazing job with that! She added my personality to a T, and she captured the sweet caring side of my husband. There wasn't a dry eye in the crowd. We cannot thank her enough. Minister Lanci came with a glowing recommendations from one of the venues we were considering and after an initial phone call we knew she was the officiant for us and were so happy to she agreed. We made sure to secure her services well before our wedding date and she made sure that we were tracking to have everything we need for our wedding day (in regards to the ceremony), license, vows, decoration, etc. Not only was Judy very attentive to our needs, she also made sure that she got to know us as a couple, and made our ceremony personalized based on who we are as individuals and together. Minister Lanci went above and beyond our expectations and made sure to get in contact with our venue and to be sure that they have everything in place for ceremony which took a load of stress off of us. To this day we still see parts of things she said during our ceremony being quoted by friends and family on social media.

She did not give clear instructions and gaslighted us while being held accountable. More tellingly, she announced my wife and I, two women, as Mr. and Mrs. Our parents, friends and family members were shocked and visibly upset. When I asked Rachel about it later on, she did not respond to my text message. Instead she unfollowed my wife on instagram. Days later my wife sent Rachel an email calling her attention to what I already communicated on night of July 26th and sent the email below. I can understand a mistake, but its unethical and unprofessional to not respond or issue an apology. Too, even if this has never happened before, it and you should have held yourself accountable in the moment and issued an apology. However, as hurt and disappointed as I was, I wasn't shocked. As a marginalized African American lesbian woman, I felt betrayed that even on my wedding day, someone could feel that entitled, make a detrimental mistake and still not issue an apology while being paid to perform a service. I would not recommend Reverend Rachel to officiant another wedding. In fact, I strongly recommend that she take a break, a sabbatical to get closer to God.

From the moment we spoke with Jeddah, we knew we were the lucky ones in finding her. She just has…read morethis calming energy that immediately envelopes you, even via a Skype introduction phone call. My now husband and I were most looking forward to exchanging our own vows. There is something just so special about sharing such an intimate part of yourselves with your most trusted friends and family. As excited as we were, we were terrified! Terrified we would be a puddle of emotions, unable to focus in on the moment, or one spouse's vows would far exceed the other's. Jeddah took care of ALL of that...and then some. Even let us know how to tweak our vows to mimic more of the other one's flow (because we didn't want to hear the other's until the day of!). We had multiple Skype conversations over the 6 or so months leading up to the day. Talked about our concerns, or whatever evolved from there. It's so easy speaking to her. She has this total 'fairy godmother-esque' vibe. We got our 'homework' - an email consisting of a myriad of intimate couple questions to further let her in on your relationship. That's the greatest part about her. She takes the time to get to know you so she can create a ceremony specifically tailored to the two of you. On the day of the wedding I actually got emotional when she greeted us at the venue. During that time it was feeling overwhelmingly chaotic...and when I saw her I immediately knew I could decompress with her one hug. Everyone guest at the reception mentioned how beautiful the ceremony was and that it was their favorite part! We couldn't be more pleased with Jeddah. We actually got a lot of compliments on our…read moreceremony - if you've ever been to a wedding (especially a bad wedding, especially a wedding in which the officiant goes rogue and starts rambling on about some political/religious tangent that has nothing to do with the couple getting married) you'll know how shocking and crazy that is. We went in to officiant-browsing with a few simple requirements, and Jeddah met them all, and them completely exceeded them, and then made our requirements look silly because she was so beyond them. Here were our requirements: 1. Must be 100% comfortable performing gay weddings. We aren't gay, but no way would we get married by someone who we couldn't recommend to ALL of our friends. 2. Ok with our lack of religious beliefs but aware of our extremely Catholic and Protestant family members (wheeeeeeee!!!!!). And somehow able to make that work. Kind of a tall order. 3. Open to non-traditional ceremony ideas. And was she ever. Rev. Jeddah was totally warm and kind and exactly the kind of person we wanted to have standing next to us on our wedding day. She made our ceremony completely personal and she did an amazing, amazing job of calming our nerves (standing up in front of 100 people is SCARY, man) and keeping us focused on each other and the moment at hand. I can't recommend her highly enough, she's a wonderful lady.

Hiring Shauna for our marriage ceremony was the worst decision and I do not recommend working with…read moreher. We decided to reschedule our wedding because of the pandemic, and when we started choosing new dates for a small "micro wedding", Shauna would not tell us if she was comfortable or not performing the ceremony. She left us completely in limbo. We asked Shauna to please let us know if she was uncomfortable performing the ceremony so we had time to find someone else. We understand that in August some people were still worried about the virus. She did not answer a single email closer to our wedding date. We were scrambling to find someone else in time. We also lost a $200 deposit. Her contract (that she and I both signed) says that if she does not perform the ceremony, she will find a replacement and the deposit will go toward the final cost. None of that happened and we lost our money. At one point she said that money went toward putting the ceremony together. I had a ceremony layout ready before I hired her. Cutting and pasting the vows I wrote myself in a Word document is not worth $200. We also paid a travel fee on top of that, and obviously she did not travel anywhere. Re-planning a wedding during a pandemic is hard enough, but when one of your vendors completely ignores all of your attempts to reach out to her, it makes the situation so much worse. Overall, Shauna is extremely unprofessional. My reason for writing this review is so nobody has to go through what Shauna put us through.

When my partner and I first met with her, we immediately felt a connection. It was as if we had known her for a long time. She gave us a fun assignment -- answering thoughtful questions about ourselves and our expectations of the big day. We had to fill the surveys out separately and not share our answers with each other. Then, Shauna wrote a beautiful ceremony, which we were able to read, edit, and review prior to the wedding. I should also mention that Shauna has a skillful way of nudging you to move towards the goal of the big day. If she needed us to share information in a timely way, she was proactive about getting in touch with us. Our wedding was unique, as we didn't have the blessing of my partner's family. They did not attend the ceremony. We both had some important conversations with Shauna about how to navigate this in the writing of the ceremony. We wanted to acknowledge my husband's parents and their contribution to his life but in a way to not highlight the drama of their absence. Shauna brought a lot of empathy and sensitivity to this task. In the end, we had a marvelous celebration with all the people who love us and our story, which Shauna told so personally. Evidently, Shauna is also a talented playwright and director. She founded her own theater company, VoiceTheatre. Her skill set in this area really pays off. She has professional knowledge of both how to write your story, but also how to stage it. After all, weddings are very theatrical events, and it's essential to have someone guiding you with these skills. She helped us coordinate the use of the outdoor lawn wedding space at Woolverton Inn, planning out all the details (order of the wedding party, music coordination, speaking volume of both grooms, etc.). After our wedding, many of our guests commented on what a wonderful job Shauna did. She was so joyous and happy for us and brought an enthusiasm to the event that made it very personal and warm. This is much, much, much more than a person standing their and having you say "I do" and "I do" before you sign the legal documents. Shauna takes lots of time to interview the couple, craft a personal and very professional ceremony, then delivers it with sincere feeling and joy.
