Flower selection is great. The staff are really helpful, they'll work with you through building a bouquet, and are happy to try different flower combinations until you find the one you like. The price per stem can be high in some cases, but they always make sure you're getting quality stems -- you never walk out feeling like you didn't get an excellent bunch of flowers. Have been passing this place everyday since I moved to the area but never had an excuse to go in (it's really small so I didn't want to try to roam around with no end goal). Finally, I had a reason and I sprinted over. The place is small (the size of a medium nyc bedroom) but they have so much there. Their staff is also so helpful. I told the staff what I was looking for and they helped me put together a beautiful bouquet for me to make into centerpieces for a dinner party I was having. It was extremely reasonably priced. I wasn't able to make it to Matles to talk to Yossi about the kind of floral arrangement I wanted for the first night of Passover . In the end, I said I would just leave it up to him. He asked if I wanted a card added so the recipients would know who is from. I decided not to put any name, hoping that this would create a bit of confusion. When I arrived, I could hear among the guests that there was consternation about the person who ordered the flowers. Everybody said no, it wasn't them. Perfect! At one point, my daughter Francesca suspected that it might be me and in the end I fessed up. I was going to take a picture for you, but then I realized that that wasn't necessary because you were the ones who created the arrangement. I got a wonderful message from the head of the household thanking me for the "gorgeous" flowers. And the message also let me know that they were able to use both arrangements for the second night Passover. Definitely a home run. As for value, I can't put it into monetary terms. But I can say whatever I paid was definitely money spent. read more

I was looking for a New York florist to deliver a bespoke corsage to a relative attending Carnegie Hall. As I am UK based had to contact several unhelpful New York florists who couldn't help with my last-minute request before finding Matles, whose owner (himself on a trip to UK) replied immediately and accepted the order. The result was a same day delivery of a gorgeous floral arrangement to my relative, at the correct hotel at the designated time .... just outstanding service. Had the worst experience - placed an order this morning which my husband picked up on my way home. They completely took advantage of the fact that I was not there and sent him home with a third of what I had ordered. Ofcourse I had paid in advance. What horrible people and horrible service. Is this any way to treat customers? Shame on you. Thanks for your reply that began with being defensive. You told me to bring the flowers back that I had bought for my family arriving that evening. What did you think I was going to bring you back dripping flowers that I had already put in a vase in my house? You need to learn customer service 101 - what you should have done is either a) reimburse me for the crap you gave me b) offered to pick up a new bouquet of flowers. You are a disgrace. read more

Flowers were not delivered before 1 PM, despite the fact that I paid $15 extra. The flowers were not even delivered the same day that they were ordered. the flowers were received the next afternoon, were not very fresh looking, and they were not the largest bouquet that I had requested and paid for. I am not sure that I would use Teleflora again, and if I did, I would tell them not to use this florist. The experience was unpleasant, spoiled a special homecoming, and overall was awful. Buyer beware. Reply to florist: the flowers were ordered through Teleflora and through your florist. Please do not try to minimize the bad service and awful flowers that were received a day late. Your comment that I was using a third-party deliver is absolutely inaccurate. The order was placed through Teleflora and you were the florist. They used no one else to deliver those flowers but you. I find your comments disturbing, and as bad as the service and flowers that were received. Teleflora sent you the order and the only person that could have used a third-party delivery service would have been you. I did one thing, order the flowers through Teleflora. Once the order was sent to you I was out of it as a customer until they were received a day and a half late, wilted, and now you try to blame it on me and a third-party delivery service. Somehow I am not surprised. I may use Teleflora again, but I will absolutely tell them not to use you as a providing florist. It's a shame that you did not except responsibility for what you did wrong, because the only delivery involved was you and the only person that could have used a third-party deliver was you. I ordered from Teleflora, they sent the order to you, you then had the responsibility of sending it, and if it was wrong, you should've excepted responsibility for that and made a special effort to fix it. Shame on you. Once again, you ruined something that was supposed to be very special and I would suggest anybody to beware of using your florist. read more

I never got to meet the owner in person or enter the shop but he was great about answering questions over the phone. He was also really good about sending emails with the invoice, arenginf drop offs and pick ups and handling last minute changes. Last minute, I needed something blue and they were able to add some blue string very artfully to the bouquet. I loved all of the flowers that I ordered. Excellent & Thoughtful Service! I realized at 3pm that I had not ordered flowers for a very special birthday. I googled around for a local florist. I found Matles and found a lovely arrangement. While placing the order, i discovered that the recipient would not receive the arrangement until tomorrow. It was after 3pm, so I understood. I placed my order and continued with my workday. After about 10 minutes, I email stating that they were trying to call me. I used my home phone number with the order. I called and the was told they read my gift note and would I like the order to be sent today? Yes, please. On the gift note, I mentioned that the gift is late, but charge it to my mind and not my heart. So thoughtful! My Savta received her birthday flowers and loved them! This review is for their service: I decided to have flowers delivered to my girlfriend's work because it was her birthday. I went with Matles because of the great reviews. To make a long story short, the wrong flowers were delivered to her (it's had some other person's name and address) I called the place and told them about it and the guy just laughed about it (Apparently he thinks that ruining surprises is funny). Eventually they delivered the correct flowers but they never included the balloon I paid extra for. The only reason I give them 2 stars is because the flowers were nice. read more
