For some reason in Copenhagen, suspicious people like to hang out at this train station and I saw at least one pick pocket in action on the Metro platform. You can tell the suspicious people they are the ones that are just "hanging out" looking like they have no where to go, or just walking un circles looking at you and everyone else and are not self directed toward their transportation or just following other people until they are noticed and they break off. I had to use this confusing station to get back to my hotel a few times but until I was on the train my anxiety level was up. Once on the train there were numerous security agents. Wish they had a law in Copenhagen that you can not loiter at or near train stations, you must always be directing yourself toward your transportation would make it a safer place. What is it about train stations in Europe that attracts suspicious people? PS. If you are from the US with a US credit card the ticket machines only take debit and coins for tickets. US credit cards require a signature and ID check and machines reject them. read more

I love the metro in København and Nørreport is one reason why. The station is super easy to navigate. It is completely handicapped accessible. There is very good signage in both English and Danish. And because it's in "downtown" København, the trains run often. Nørreport is not just S-train, but also serves the metro and main lines. It is actually the busiest railway station in all of Denmark. Even more so than the Central station. From here, you can catch the M1 and M2 of the metro, most of the S trains and even regional trains to Zealand and Sweden. There is a ton of bicycle parking at street level and yes, bicycles are allowed on the trains here (just not during rush hours). Nørreport is between Vesterport and Østerport stations. It is in Fare zone 1. There are bus connections at street level, too. read more

We spent several days in Copenhagen, Denmark. Whenever we took the train or Metro, our travels seemed to always intersect with this stop. Norreport seemed to be just as busy as Central station. Transfer trains available here. When you walk out of Norreport, the area is quite nice. Torvehallerne was my favorite destination. It is one cool food hall. :-) The little 7-Eleven store at Norreport station did not satisfy my food cravings. read more

Slowly getting better and nicer. Just a few months ago this place was under insane constructions and it was difficult to walk around not to mention biking. Things look much better now and it is not as hectic as it used to be. Station looks much better and there a nice parking spot for bikes (even though I have the impression that there were more bike parking spots before the renewals). Many restaurants and tourist attraction nearby. read more

So this is for me centre of Copenhagen & is one of the busiest stations in Copenhagen. The great part about this station is that this has all trains passing through i.e. S-Train, Regional trains as well as Metro. Add to this there are quite a lot of busses which pass through which means people can easily transit from here. Also there are tons of shopping places & also the lakes are not too far away. This station just went through a renovation recently & although a lot of people have not liked the changes & new look, but i absolutely like it for the fact that there are tons of places to park you bikes & also trains & buses are easily accessible. Getting into the walking street from here is also not too much of a hassle which is one of the great things as well. read more

There's a lot of construction going on at the moment. Apparently it's part of Copenhagen's long term planning vision for extending and renovating its train lines. Regardless, it's a little more than confusing since some signs are obscured or easily overlooked by construction. The inside is like any other, a little grungy with graffiti, cigarette butts littering the ground, and the faint smell of urine. Still, compared to New York subway stations, it's bearable. Keep an eye out for train arrival times, the ETA changes frequently. I think it's the busiest of Copenhagen's stations so cosmetic issues aside, it gets the job done in terms of transportation. read more

I have been waiting to review Nørreport until after it's renovation was finally completed. It was a bit of a nightmare with all the renovation, but it's finally done! The station is (in my opinion) really beautifully designed now on the outside and I love the giant area for your bike parking. This is a very busy station with tons of people passing through but they've made it very spacious on the outside so you don't feel so crammed with all the tons of people here at all hours of the day/night. I love that there is a small 7 Eleven inside the station so you can quickly grab something to drink on your journey, or they even have one right outside the station as well. Overall, I think the renovation has made a big improvement and it's super easy to navigate your way through the station to the metro. read more

This a great train/metro station. I am constantly here because I live nearby and I always use the Metro to get to the airport, since it only takes about 15 minutes by metro to get to the airport. I really like this station because it is clean, convenient, and easy to navigate. There are tons of signs as to where all the metro and different trains are. All of the signs make it very easy to get around this station, and since I usually get confused with public transportation, the signs are great for me. However, this station can get super super crowded and feel too packed, which I don't like. Also, there are no shops and food places here. And while that is not necessary, I like when stations have that touch! read more

What can I say? Nørreport is the busiest station in Copenhagen if I am allowed to say completely. Maybe it's not true, maybe Copenhagen Central station in reality is busier, but the fact that Nørreport is cramped, small and serving S and A buses, S-trains, regional trains and metro (Copenhagen Central doesn't have metro line yet) makes it looks like it's very busy. Now that they've finished "modernizing" the place, the regional train platform does look brighter and "cleaner" (please understand that the word "clean" here is relative when we're talking about Nørreport station). The metro station is pretty much the same like everywhere else, apart from the fact that they have two elevators on both end ( I do like the new shortcut to Torvehallen ) and the bus stops? Sometimes they smell of vomit and urines like major bus stops in Copenhagen. But then again, Nørreport is the necessary evil. Can't live with it, can't live without it, especially me who lives near a metro line - I tend to make my switch at Nørreport because it's much more convenient due to the connections. They no longer have ticketing office now, just a so-called "customer service" booth next to the other 7-11. A shame, considering this is - again - busiest station in Copenhagen ...and Denmark, please - we need more shops at the station. I adore U-bahn / S-bahn stations in major German cities, because you can never go hungry if the world above were infested with zombies and you had to go underground. Here in Copenhagen? This station is the one I use to get into the center of Copenhagen! It is very conveniently located by Strøget (a street with incredible shopping) and Toverhallerne (the Glass Markets, amazing atmosphere and food)! It's always busy but never too crowded and it is cleaned well for public transportation. The bus, metro, and train all come to Norreport, making it a very common place to transfer from one to another. There is a 7/11 down by the train - great for a quick bite or something last-minute. read more

We were staying at the generator hostel and wanted to go for a day trip to Malmö. The nearest station is Nørreport so we headed that way. It was easier to get there and it's less busy than the central station. Only problem was that it doesn't have humans selling tickets, only machines so it was quite difficult to find the discounted tickets. Thanks to one very helpful lady we managed to confirm we were getting the correct ticket. Basically, if you are two adults travelling it's cheaper to select family ticket with no children than buying two singles. For Malmö return day trip was 288 Kr. Again no idea if the return is open....you also need to validate your ticket. Plenty of bike parking as expected for Copenhagen. Lovely pastries outside the station. read more

One of the busiest stations in the country, but it has a good flow and it's easy to get between all the services (bus, S trains, regional trains & metro) despite it's small size thanks to the underground thoroughfares. The Metro station is probably the safest station late at night thanks to the guards who are always about. It also houses probably the only Metro station lift that doesn't smell of stale urine. read more
