We've been going there for the last few years, while visiting family in the area, and have purchased from them at the Royal Winter Fair and from a couple of specialized retailers in the area. I honestly cannot say that I dislike any of their cheese - but for me the Mattagami and the Missinaibi are my favourites. Their cheese doesn't last long in my household and my wife and I try and hide it from the kids.

Well, the Fromagerie Kapuskoise makes their cheeses on site, and they will take you on a small tour to show you how their cheese is made. Then, they generously let us sample every single cheese that they produce. Our favourites: 1 year aged The Mattagami (so good, crumbles like a cheddar and with a little bite); The Kapuskasing (with ash - reminiscient of the cheese that I ate years ago, while hiking in the Pays Basque)); The Saganash (creamy and full- flavoured). Both the tour and the website are filled with information about what the Fromagerie has to offer. OK, Yelpers, you should just go to Kapuskasing right now and try this cheese! Seriously! I am already planning my return journey next summer. I will be Katya of the North! The desk was having computer problems. When I checked in at 10pm they knocked at my door at 10:15pm for signature. In my opinion Joelle should have waited til morning, its very late and you should hassle a female customer like that at that hour.

The receptionists Amy & another girl (didn't catch her name) were so polite & made sure we were well taken care of. They even upgraded our room for us because they felt it wasn't right because of an odd smell in our original room. So that was a very pleasant unexpected surprise! The pool was an awesome added bonus, it was clean & well maintained. You do need to have proof of double vaccination for the pool area & fitness room! The room was super clean, came with a microwave & a nice size bar fridge, along with a Keurig machine for coffees! The hotel is close to all shopping & other amenities. The receptionists are fluent in French & English. It's right beside an A&W which was cool. I definitely enjoyed my stay here. I highly recommend this place for your next stay in Kapuskasing. New place on the edge on town. Seems as though the big draw here is the pool with the water slide…read more I didn't get to try it, but it looks fun. The rooms are good with soft yet firm mattresses. The bathroom is a little small, but it's ok for just myself. The air conditioning and heating work very well and are easy to adjust to whatever you like. The free breakfast in the morning is a medium thing here. It's not crappy old bagels that are very hard, but it's not very surprising or great. The package muffins are tasty, but the eggs and sausage isn't the best I've ever had. Certainly a good place to stay along a lonely highway.
