This place came up in our IG feed and we immediately went. Small brightly colored venue on a residential street. Free street parking when available. One table and two chairs inside for dining in, but this is truly a to-go venue. Staff were busy making online orders so we waited awhile before getting served. Once they did it was fast and polite service. They actually allow you to make combo meals, so we had an Oxtail dinner and a Goat/Oxtail dinner, as well Jerk chicken by itself. The food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! We sat outside and ate in the car, cause it was hot inside. The cook came outside & we took the time to compliment him. This is TRUE AUTHENTIC Caribbean food. I really love the curry shrimp and jerk chicken. Rice and veggies are always tender. Once I asked for my shrimp to be bagged separately so that the heat from the other food didnt cause my shrimp to overheat and be overcooked. That was done without hesitation. Jerk is authentic and spicy for those sensitive to spice, mild for those who can take the heat. I suggest getting the sauce on the side, taste like a likkle pineapple jerk bbq sauce lol cant speak for the ambiance, someone always picks up my order. Fair prices. My co workers like the oxtail and the mac did look good. I ended up having the oxtail. Good flavor but way too fatty (could benefit from braising) and NOT tender. Will not be ordering that again. Everything was fresh, delicious and generous in portions. Usually side vegetables are not as fresh, soggy or overcooked in most places, but this place, even the sides are cooked to perfection in my opinion. It was my first time ordering here. The owner was extremely friendly recommending me what's good. My first time trying pumpkin rice that's a surprise. Also their purple cabbage, maybe slaws, was so fresh and crunchy. I used to dine here annually. They changed the menu which is fine but didn't serve that day what we saw on the menu, service was slow, food came cold because we waited so long for it to be served. I don't care if the food was excellent. In this case average at best. But when you spend $45 dollars and the person serving you has the attention span of a ant, it don't add up. When I arrived the Mac n Cheese was low. So I asked the guy, is there anymore, he said yeah. I order my wife's plate. Oxtails (not a lot of meat), Peas and rice (nothing special), cabbage (under cooked), and Mac n Cheese (loved it). Then I order the Jerk Chicken (asked him to put the jerk sauce on the side, he didn't), peas rice, Cabbage, Mac n Cheese (never put any on my plate at all). When a person spends hard earned money to gett home to find your instruction were not followed, sends fire through me. I saw this place on InstaGram and had to try it! My husband and I stopped by this establishment last night after work around 7pm. As we were parking I couldn't help but notice the steam coming from the food. We went inside and were greeted by the Chef himself and proceeded to place an order for oxtails, red beans and rice, mac and cheese and vegetables. When I tell you, they are not stingy with the portion size. We were also given a taste of the jerk chicken. I must say the food was delicious and we will be returning for future orders!!!
