My car underneath a sheet of ice, yet close enough to walk 100 feet to the shuttle terminal (which was heated).

Its difficult for me to think of anything bad that occurred to me by parking in Economy Lot E in January 2020. Prices were reasonable (between $10-12/per day), the shuttle bus ran on time (and the waiting area was heated), and there seemed to be enough parking lots available to fly out on a Thursday evening (returned Sunday). Obviously, the downside of parking at an economy parking lot is that you & the car are exposed to the elements. Welcome to Chicago. I left in a light rain, and arrived to my car that was covered in snow & ice thanks to a weekend snowstorm. No big deal, even if I had to use a credit card to scrap the ice away from the door lock. Much love for O'Hare parking. The interior waiting area had enough room to fit 30-40 people comfortably. Almost like an old school Greyhound bus terminal, where the employees actually talk with you, as well as indicate when the next shuttle is arriving for departure.

Remote lots E, F, and G are not bad, and they are served by some of the best City of Chicago employees I've ever encountered. That part is really inexplicable. It's reasonably safe, and pretty convenient. You get picked up by a bus and then go to the rental car stop for the airport tram. It's busy and there will be bad travelers from this stop on out, expect it. Take a PIC of your location for the return, the bus drivers will help you find your car from the PIC. This is a better deal than the private garages around O'Hare both in terms of cost but also in terms of time from locking your car to getting to the departure gate. Plan on 45 minutes from the exit ramp, finding which of the three are open (the other two will be filled up), to the bus, to the tram, to your departure terminal. It's O'Hare, you want to be at the departure terminal check in 3 hours before your international flight and try to eat before you arrive.

So much for economy all 4 lots full! Forcing us to park in daily parking $43 a day. FU o'hare airport.

    1000's of cars!!!

I've never had a problem here but recently had an issue with Abe O!!! First he was slower then molasses...I totally picked the wrong lane. The other lanes were checking cars out like crazy. So here I sat waiting for Abe O to get his act together. It was late and pouring rain. Finally I got to the window and went to hand Abe O my ticket. He just stood there starring into space. I thought he might have died. After two minutes of complete silence he takes my ticket and says, "I can't take your ticket it's wet!" it took every muscle in my body not to explode. I looked at him and said, "Of course it's wet...it's raining outside and if you would have taken my ticket instead of standing there for two minutes we wouldn't have this problem!" He gave me some more lip...I was really shocked, then I saw the sign that said, "Call Us if you have comments or problems!" After painfully taking 10 minutes to pay my parking charge and waiting forever for him to open the gate. I had to ask, "Can you please open the gate and let me out?" He again just stared at me. I think something was going on here but I can not speculate. I then decided to call that number and then got an answering machine. I left a message with my phone number and what happened. And I've never gotten a call back. It has been almost two months and no call back. So I am assuming they are not going to call because they probably don't care. Luckily I've never seen Abe O again...I'm sure I wasn't the only complaint the rain night!!! (This is the Economy Lot)

For an airport this large and cramped real estate for parking, ord does a great job with their economy parking.

The main Chinatown parking lot is now a pay-by-phone operation. It might be intimidating and…read moreconfusing the first time you approach if you don't have a heads-up on this change, but I will tell you here what you need to do to make it a smooth and convenient operation for yourself. The main tip is to download the Metropolis phone app, enter your credit card info, phone number, and also the license plates of your cars. If you don't do it beforehand, you will be fumbling around doing it in the parking lot should you still choose to use the lot. As you drive in, your car plate will be scanned. You still have to scan a QR code either upon entering or before leaving the lot so it knows it was you in that car. You will then get an acknowledging text message from Metropolis. Enter and park. When you go to a restaurant that validates, scan the QR code in the restaurant, and the app will apply the discount to get you a parking rate of $3 for up to 3 hours instead of the lot's regular high rates of $10.99 to $18.99. When you depart, at the gate, your car plate will be scanned again, you will be recognized, and the gate will open, and you drive off and are done. Your credit card will be charged the $3 or whatever. Assuming everything works as I described, lol, and it did for me on my first use of the app today, it's all quite nice and seamless and no human interaction needed, nor any physical use of a credit card or paper receipts. I guess if you don't have a mobile phone, and/or don't want to use the Metropolis app, you can't park here any more! Anyway, I say thumbs up!

We got there and there's no sign displaying hourly rates itself. It's not until we go up a corkscrew ramp to get to a kiosk that it said $30 for two hours. For 0-2 minutes is $13. So either we bite the bullet or try to back down the windy ramp and hope no one was behind us... we bit the bullet thinking that if we went through and had to pay $13 and then pay for another parking spot which would've been more expensive than $30. We were parked no more than 2.5 hrs and pulled up to $62 due!!! Completely predatory, bate and switch false advertising. Do not park here. We pressed the assistance button and a lady said she was unable to waive the fee or reduce the rate because it was a posted rate. Posted where? I didn't see 62$ anywhere and we would've risked backing down the ramp if we did. She said the manager would come in a moment but failed to provide accurate timing of when he'd be there because "Tracy" if that's his name pulled up with his lunch 20 minutes later. In that time two cars passed both shocked at the rate they also needed to pay. We were met with very little empathy. They provided very poor communication. We literally just started our trip and didn't have time to checkout one of the landmarks on our list because of this ordeal. Awful service.

As I…read morerode down in the elevator, there was a prominently displayed sign, stating in part "$24.25 In by 10am up to 12 hours." I left the garage at 2.33.08PM for a total parking time of 4 hours and 36 minutes. All conditions of the sign to get the price of $24.25 were met so I submitted a request on 7.24.2026 for a refund. "Audrey" emailed asking for my receipts and other information which I provided. She then gave me a lot of song and dance and double-talk about accounts, rates, passes, and a MINT something, then passed me along to the location manager. Well apparently "Glenn" is too busy to email or just doesn't give a damn. It seems this company, garage, and Glenn have all never heard of a few little things called false advertising and bait-n-switch. RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
