We were going to the movies and stop by here before to have a quick bite. It was very good food, but we thought this place was similar to the one in Jersey City and Morristown. It has not. The service was excellent and attentive, and the decorations in the restaurant were festive. I've been coming here for awhile. Especially now that they reopened after the major flooding in Manville from hurricane Ida last September. This is a family run business, and it shows. The staff is extremely nice, the front desk girl who answers the phone and takes the orders is always happy and smiling. The food is very good and authentic Mexican. My favorite, and I usually get is 3 beef tacos, the traditional way with just a squeeze of fresh lime and thinly sliced red radishes, and fresh cilantro with salsa verde and hot sauce on the side. I also order rice and beans. The beans are very fresh and creamy,along with an order of grilled onions (aka it looks like scallions with an onion at the bottom.) Everything here is homemade and quality. There is street parking in front and around the corner. If you don't want to park across the street in the lot and walk. At O'rale Restaurant you can dine inside. They serve all the traditional Mexican foods and frescas. This Mexican restaurant has become my favorite in Manville. I've tried them all, and this one continues to stand out. read more

My boyfriend and I were hungry after visiting colonial park community gardens. I decided to let yelp decide what small business we should support for lunch! We came across O'rale not too far away. Yelp delivered again! This is authentic Mexican food! We got takeout but they are open for dining in and masks are required. My boyfriend ordered carne asada tacos and I ordered their enchiladas and not only was it delicious but you really get a bang for your buck here. We also ordered nachos with carnitas. A staff me never recommended it to us and I was very impressed with the quantity and flavor. I only give this place four stars because parallel parking seems to be the only option on a main road and I wish their menu was more descriptively the items. First time trying a local Mexican restaurant in Manville...must have passed it hundreds of times but very happy to report that the entire experience was excellent! Locate right on Main St, the establishment isn't large but has roughly 8-9 tables of four. We were greeted by the very friendly staff who provided us with the menus and glasses for our wine (yes...it's BYOB!). They also provide complimentary chips and three dipping salsas...two of which have a pretty good kick! We started with the guacamole and chips which had a nice fresh taste from the fresh lime. We order four entrees which included chicken enchiladas in green sauce (excellent), shrimp burritos (super flavor with good spice), chicken taquitos and grilled tilapia w/ veggies. All the food tasted fresh and well presented. Staff were very helpful and attentive. Overall, great experience and would highly recommend for your local Mexican food craving! read more

O'rale Mexican Restaurant is a hidden gem located on the Main Street of Manville. Park in the lot across the street if there isn't a free spot in front of O'rale. Specials are listed on a chalkboard on the sidewalk. There are about six tables for eating in but they do a large take out business. Regulars stop by for a taco and to pick up dinner. We went on a weeknight. Although I intended to have something new and authentic, I went for the Carnitas special. It took a while but there were orders ahead of us and everything was freshly cooked. I ordered a steak and pastor taco which was ok the meat had a decent amount of flavor a tad dry . My younger daughter order chicken tacos which she said was ok as well . You had to add salsa to give it that extra flavor boost. My husband and older daughter ordered each a different form of bistek which was actually a fairly large plate which a decent size piece of beef and rice and beans . You have 3 sauces to put on whatever you like, fresh and crisp condiments. They are set up with a half dozen tables so keep that in mind if you plan on eating there. Great go to Mexican place. Came across it because I was craving tacos and nothing else was open! As soon as we got there we were seated and they brought out three different salsas with chips! Today is May 5th, a.k.a. Cinco de Mayo. I called six other places and no one answered, one person even said "I don't speak English". HAHAHA...Like WTF?? anyways.. And then O'rale was #7...lucky number seven. So I took a 20 minute drive and I see 3 employees working their tails off. The phones were jamming, 5-6 customers in and out and they were cranking out food orders. I was very impressed of their teamwork. As far as the food goes, when I opened it up at home I was very relieved and happy. It was very warm, ingredients were fresh & tasty.
