I've tried the wings, steak fajitas, and coconut shrimp tacos here. The coconut shrimp tacos deserve 5/5 stars!! So flavorful and well cooked!! Everything else was okay...nothing to write home about. Literally my family's favorite place ever. They do an amazing job perfecting the texmex bbq vibe they got going. My family always does the big time which is a huge platter of tacos, quesadillas, burritos, etc. whereas I always get the honey bbq wings. Their blue cheese is extraordinary (I love ranch and blue cheese but theirs hits so diff). Their crab cakes were a special once and literally blew my mind. I love their fried avocado tacos as an app also. All the different bbq sauces they have are phenomenal. We get takeout a lot but nothing is better than sitting in the restaurant and having the whole experience! This restaurant is a MUST visit! The menu is extensive with bbq and Mexican options. The restaurant offers a casual vibe and has the nicest server I've ever encountered. Danielle greeted every customer with friendly enthusiasm. She offered excellent service. I opted for bbq and my husband ordered oxtail. He said it was some of the best oxtail he's ever had. My bbq platter was flavorful and PLENTIFUL! We also thoroughly enjoyed our sides of Brussels sprouts and coleslaw. I think I just ate the best chili I've ever tasted. It was so good, I packed it up to go and ordered wings just so I can take it home and eat it in the comfort of my robe....we need some alone time. This restaurant has a tex mex flair. We have had so many different things on the menu we highly recommend. Baby Back Ribs w/the spicy rub, the special : Sliders & Street Tacos and Chicken /Steak Fajitas for entrees. For starters we suggest going with guacamole or a soup. There's homemade chicken tortilla & Black bean soup. The chips are great and salsa tastes fresh medium spice level. To finish we recommend the award winning flan its *chefs kiss*. Each table also has some homemade sauces that range Fromm mild to spicy and a bit Smokey you can add to your BBQ or Tacos. Ordered take out on a Saturday night, and while the containers don't hold the best heat when traveling - the food is NEVER a disappointment!! Fried ribs - amazing! Burger - superb!! Full rack of ribs - phenomenal! When we got our order via chow we didn't get the tres leches and a side of plantains. When we realized the plantains were missing we didn't care too much, but we wanted the dessert. I called and can you believe they came back out to deliver the cake. And as expected - a delicious piece of cake and I'm glad they made the drive for us and received the best customer service. We got assorted appetizers off of the happy hour menu and all were great. The Baja flat and tacos were probably our favorite. I've always loved their fries too! Ambiance: the interior is warm and inviting. It's a smaller place but well decorated and cozy Service: Our server Danelle was the best. Grub Hut never disappoints. Funnily enough I was in the mood for Taco's and couldn't think of a better place to curb my craving. Got here & had the meatloaf ‍ it just sounded so good! We started off with the coconut shrimp taco's however, which were banging! Nice and crispy, not greasy, tasty, mango salsa was delicious. The meatloaf was a mix of chorizo, sausage & beef (if I remember correctly) with a nice flavored gravy that wasn't too thick (I hate thick blobby gravies) served on a bed of cilantro rice (their sweet potato mash was unavailable) and julienned carrots & zucchini. Mike's Famous Cheesesteak was cooked to perfection, cheese melted beautiful over the shredded rib eye with onions & peppers, comes with two sides, corn bread & fried brussel sprouts (or little balls of hate as we call them) were chosen. GRUB Hut is one of my favorite local restaurants for BBQ and Tex-Mex food. They offer a number of daily specials in addition to the regular menu, so it is always difficult to choose. My companion had the two-enchilada platter, pulled pork with red sauce, and brisket with molé sauce. I got the "Yankee BBQ" sandwich, which is fried bologna, pork belly, smoked bacon, sautéed onions, melted cheese and pickle chips on a brioche bun, with creamy coleslaw and baked beans on the side. Not worth the hype. The food and the people here were just doing way too much. We ordered several items but the guac and queso were truly the stars of the show. Everything else was either bland, salty, or the flavors didn't make sense. We came here specifically for the beef ribs, which are still on the menu, only to be told they didn't have them because they make "good food" and the beef ribs weren't very good. There were a few other items no longer available. The Nola enchiladas were not good at all. If there was one dish that was truly doing too much and not enough simultaneously, it's that one. I also want to point out that they charge $3 for more chips and salsa. We ordered two appetizers with chips and asked for additional salsa just to even it out. Instead of being like, "oh, yeah, salsa DOES go with guac and/or queso," our waitress (who looked like Rachel Dolezal) was like "I will have to charge you." I cannot believe how many times I drove past this place for the last 18 years and have never popped in!!! 2 of my buddies swear by this spot and have been trying to get me to go recently so had to stop in when in the area... I don't know where to start - went in for a late lunch and it was literally the owners running food and serving tables. Talk about sweat equity! The food was unreal!! I have never seen a more unique menu of southwestern BBQ & a Cali-Tex flare. All the specials sounded incredible and revolve weekly so had to try one of those as well as some tacos of course. Food is always outstanding here. We usually order takeout, but the restaurant itself isn't the largest inside, but they can get busy. There's little tvs with either the local games or news on, and a Southwest vibe to the decorations since it is a Tex-Mex BBQ place. The baby back ribs are what's in the photo. Weren't overcooked where the meat falls of the bone, they were nice and tender to get a clean cut and bite. The best part about Grub Hut is you get a healthy portion of whatever you order. The pulled pork sandwich, the tenders, all excellent. Grub Hut is that little dive you might pass right by heading into Manville, but it should be a place you stop at when you're hungry. read more

I did order my steak for my fajitas well done, but they were tough very hard to chew. I know you're thinking "duh it's well done you heathen" BUT HEAR ME OUT, steak should be still nice and juicy. It was still alright not super flavorful. My boyfriend on the other hand did enjoy his meal, but he says the same it was pretty pricey for what it was and he thought the meat was off. My wife had the chili, which was flavorful and fresh, albeit a little too spicy for her tastes. I had the chicken tortilla soup which was seasoned well, with plenty of chicken and vegetables. For our entrees, my wife had the ground beef enchiladas with the red sauce. It came with rice and black beans. Absolutely delicious and filling. I had the platter with brisket and a leg quarter. I tried a couple of the sauces that they placed on the table. I preferred the house the best. I had the NC vinegar slaw and plaintains as my sides. The slaw needed a bit more seasoning, (S&P) but the plaintains were sweet and delicious. Our server was polite and attentive. If you want great Tex-Mex, hit this place up. Food - 5 star - This is a local spot with a "unique" mix of bbq and Mexican food. Everything I have ordered has always been great. This time we ordered the burritos with Xmas sau that my son loved, my daughters favorite avocado tacos, and my wife had the keto version of the but Chicken sandwich (no bread). I experimented with the fried ribs, good solid 3.7, next time I'll get the BBQ platter or regular ribs. Ambience - the location is on a main street by a busy plaza, the place itself is small but when it's nice outside they have outside seating and it is great. Excellent BBQ/Tex Mex in Manville. My favorite thing on the menu is the chicken tortilla soup. So flavorful with just the right amount of kick. Over my many visits I have also tried their Tacos, enchiladas, burritos, ribs and pulled pork. Everything is always good and their servers are always so friendly and timely. My problem is it's pricey for what it is. Went to lunch yesterday and had a burrito with no sides and it as $20. Very tasty indeed but just expensive for a quick casual meal. Plus they charge you if you want a refill on the chips and salsa which I really hate. Not that I even need a second helping but just to know that if I did I would be charged seems petty to me. These 2 things are the only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5. read more

The food here was magnificent. What I got was the hard shell chicken tacos with lettuce, cheese, and chicken. I also got a side of fries (you can choose between rice and beans or side of fries). The chicken was cooked to perfection with a taste that makes me want to go back there and I am a picky guy so this is great. The fires were also fried and seasoned to perfection and they looked so good. Sadly I didn't take a picture but if you saw it you would probably agree. I also want to talk about the service there. There service are really sweet and nice and they give you and welcome when you enter there building and they are understanding and thoughtful towards you. This is why I'm giving this 5 out of 5 stars and I would definitely recommend going here and I'll go there again read more

I ordered the Texas Two Step and my man got Mel's Country Ribs. Turn around time was great; 15 min tops. Texas Two Step came with Pulled Brisket, small rack of ribs, beans and Mexican street corn. I ate it all except for 1 rib!!! The man loved the Country Ribs. There were brussel sprouts that came with it, as well as Mexican street corn. The brussel sprouts were delicious! However they cooked them (deep fried? Not sure...) they cooked the bitterness out. The street corn was great, and as messy as to be expected. Flan was for dessert. Very tasty. Overall the food was good, but I ordered french fries and they were the worse french fries I have ever been served. I am surprised the cook sent them and surprised the waitress served them when they were so unappetizing. The fries were severely under cooked and very greasy. I didn't eat any of them. I asked the other guests at the table and everyone agreed. Incredibly unappetizing. Do not waste your money buying food from the Grub Hut (or as I like to call it the Grubby Hut). I seriously can't believe that anyone gave this place a good review. The whole time we were at the Grub Hut the place was empty. We should have taken that as a sign to leave. We placed an order to go. It was for about $100 worth of food, and all of it was subpar to tasteless. My sister had asked for her rice and beans to be replaced with plantains. They did not do that. She ordered pork, and it was flavorless. We also had guacamole for everyone. It contained away too much lemon. My brother-in-law took one bite and didn't have any more. My brother-in-law's meal did not taste good. He barely had any of it. My sister is the type that doesn't like to waste food so despite the mediocre taste of the food, she put it in the fridge. Two days later when she checked the boxes, everything was moldy. Honestly, I think this is for the best because I didn't want to eat this gross food again. However, it does make you wonder about the freshness of their ingredients. The restaurant is aptly named. It definitely has the ambiance of a hut. It felt slightly dingy. The decor was ugly and garish. The country music blaring on the radio was loud and obnoxious. The worst part of the whole place was the owner. He mean mugged us the entire time we were there. He seems like a miserable human being, and the atmosphere in the restaurant reflected his mood. I definitely had the impression that everyone who worked there felt miserable. The hostess who took our order was not welcoming and seemed annoyed to be asked to do her job. All in all, this was a terrible experience, and I advise anyone in Manville to pick another dining experience. Hands down the best BBQ / catering you'll ever have. We have used the Grub Hut catering for two large occasions so far (engagement party and sons 2nd birthday) and both times were outstanding. Our engagement party was in 2019 and guests still talk about our food. We decided to book them again this October for our sons 2nd birthday knowing the variety of foods they offer (kid friendly options were our main concern) and I can't tell you how helpful the Staff was in creating a menu for me. So many guests complimented the food, the variety we had and assortment of sauces- everything. lt was compliment after compliment about how delicious the food was - and everything was eaten too. My son is two and was devouring ribs, corn on the cob, Mac and cheese, hotdogs, sliders.. EVERYTHING. Mike and his team are awesome. Great communication, super responsive and helpful in creating whatever menu you're looking for. The food is incredible. If you don't use them for catering you're seriously missing out.
