He agreed to do an annual inspection and to remedy any squawks so we could fly the plane back to TX. He invoiced me over $4k to adjust the gear swing, fit a new tail wheel, fix a balky generator (turned out to be a wiring short), and replace the plug leads. He handed off the plane in a filthy state. The gear swing was not right, the solenoid was clunking on every time we hit a bump while taxiing. It would not fully extend on landing either. He had to be cajoled into fixing it, got nasty, and threatened to dump the plane outside on the ramp. Yes, a fabric plane with a wood wing. When I returned two weeks later to claim the plane, it had a fuel leak from the pump. That was worked on by Cascade. We attempted to fly it back to TX, power seemed off, got as far as AZ where we had to leave it due to a bad oil leak (oil cooler had 3 fresh punctures in the honeycomb) and an oil temp excursion (first diagnosed as gauge but turned out to be wiring). Also, the starter, which was weak, fried. The battery died. The generator, tested by Hinkel, had to be rebuilt as it was sparking badly. The ignition switch had an intermittent malfunction. One magneto had loose points so the timing was off. The carb mixture was also off. All that cost $20K to fix within 4 flight hours of Hinkel's annual. On the flight from AZ to TX, we experienced low fuel pressure and then a breather tube fire due to fuel in the oil via a leaky pump diaphragm; also discovered a wing tank leak. I guess we were luckier than one of his other customers, who experienced an engine out after his "annual". Bob, sadly, is no chip off the old block. He inherited his business from his Dad who was by all accounts a great guy. Not so much the son.

Customer service has always been friendly and everyone goes over and above. Today, especially, we had to follow up on a warranty issue with our phone screen protectors. The Best Buy "concierge" answered my inquiry with ease, then found my replacement items and handed them to me. Once we explained everything to our cashier Isabel, she handled our exchange with patience, exemplary service and a friendly attitude. She quickly rounded someone up to help us with the replacement of our phone screen protectors and we were on our way. I'm so grateful for the staff at Best Buy, especially Isabel!

They did not offer an extended warranty because apparently you have to purchase a 179.00 membership. They used to always offer extended warranty for a cost. Then I was told that the item had to be returned in 14 days even though Sony even gives you a 60 trail. The product is not the issue but the store is. As well as I call a local number and it goes to a different country and as told we could not talk to a local store as they no longer take phones in the store. My husband wanted to know about the warranty stuff as he was u sure if he wanted to keep the item. Needless to say we will NO longer purchase from them. I think quality of service is so important.

It's disappointing when a company doesn't stand behind their product when issues like this arise, particularly within a reasonable timeframe. It makes sense that you'd feel they should honor the replacement even if it's four days later. If the screen isn't damaged and it's just the adhesive or seal that's been compromised (resulting in the bubbles), the issue could still be linked to a manufacturing defect. Since it's not physically damaged, it seems reasonable to ask for a replacement or resolution, especially if the problem started shortly after purchase.
