I was told the warranty was no longer valid since I did not purchase the new battery from them. I had to purchase a battery from somewhere else so I was able to get to work that day. I even asked for a store credit and was denied. The manager told me that the warranty is only good if I continue to purchase batteries from them. I paid $169.99 for a battery that only lasted though 1/2 it's life and was there is nothing they could do. This is very poor customer service and I will not recommend or ever return to Interstate battery again! Update: After talking with a represenative from the main office in IA and the business manager they determined that there will be no action taken for the warranty left on my battery. The clerk on duty waited until I removed my battery, dragged it across the parking lot, [in my wheelchair], into the store. I had difficulty cranking that morning and was on a journey to photo an "hot rod club" event 60 miles away. After all that, he informs me that the "warranty" was not valid at this location, go back to the store where you purchased, and a new replacement will be over $200. Unbeknownst to him, I have been an Interstate Battery dealer for 15 years!!-- and I know he is lying!! -- I was lucky enough to barely restart, complete my photo shoot, and return home that day!! They also take customers word no matter what and never defend the employee in any way. The company had a huge falling out at one point due to Josh refusing to hire a kid who was I believe 17 and had a mild case of aspergers and he refused to hire him on the basis "it's a liability for me on what he can say to customers" even though the kid applied for over a year and didn't even land a Interview or a call back. He had to work out in the parking lot with a cold September wind blowing and dismantled a large section of the battery box and front end trim. In ten minutes he had the old battery out and in 5 minutes had the new battery in. I called these guys and they gave me a couple of options with prices over the phone after they got my make and model. They quoted me $150 for the battery and didn't charge me anything extra for labor to install the battery. I pulled up to the front of the building and it took them less than 10 minutes to replace my battery. They were very friendly as well and gave me a dog treat for my dog on the way out.
