Got a hotel for the night and hit Auto Zone first thing in the morning for a check engine light scan. I've never had such GREAT COMFORTING customer service. He walked me through how to do the DIY scan (wasn't hard but I've never done it), he checked on me multiple times outside as I was attempting to change my coil/spark plug on the side of the building. Just about everything went "wrong" mainly because I had no idea what I what I was doing or that my tools weren't the right size but I was giving it the college try. The last time he came out I was sitting under my hood bawling my eyes out, I just wanted to go home but no mechanic shop was open and I was getting no where on my own. I had two dogs at a hotel, only 4 hours to drive, alone in a small unfamiliar town ... I was a wreck under that hood on the phone with my dad. He told me and my dad that he also has a daughter who travels a lot and that we were going to figure something out. He called a few local guys, even family to try and assist me. He pulled through and found someone to help me and I was back on the road in no time. I would have probably had to stay another night in Deming if it wasn't for this customer service! I should have thanked the man a million times more before I rolled out of town.

BUYER BEWARE! Yesterday, we had a car battery go bad. We removed the battery and lugged it over to…read moreNAPA for replacement. After installing the new battery, the car still did not start so we arranged for tow to a local shop. We discovered that NAPA sold us a "new" battery that was almost four years old and was also bad. Returned to NAPA and found out that their only other available battery was also over three years old. We then found another battery at another shop. Needless to say, I am incredibly disappointed with NAPA passing off old batteries as new and causing additional expenses. We all know it is not a pleasant experience to have car issues. But it's exasperating to have the issue complicated by NAPA passing off old inventory as new and causing customers additional and unneeded costs. I highly recommend avoiding this particular store in favor of other local auto parts retailers.

Its engine "runs hot," even though it doesn't register a high-temperature on the dashboard thermometer. These Promasters have a reputation for running hot, but risking a stall-out in the desert was intimidating. Not only did the mechanics at Mitchel's squeeze me in for a pre-trip checkup, they took my Promaster for a test drive, & afterwards assured me that all was well under the hood. When it came time to pay the bill, they floored me when they said "No charge--there was nothing wrong."
