In July 2022 I took my car in for an early minor tune up as we were moving and finding a honest, reliable mechanic isn't an easy task, especially for a woman. The only issue found was the car needed a new battery. The shop installed Interstate Batteries model# MR-S1R. We moved in Aug 2022. In Dec 2022 my car started having issues of intermittent starting with no interior lights. Upon checking battery connections, the car would start. After several instances, I contacted Interstate Batteries to locate a mechanic to replace the battery. I contacted a local mechanic, told them of my issues and informed them all I wanted was for them to change my battery as it was under warrantee. They went through their list of possible issues and I explained why none of them were the issue. I informed them of the minor tune up in Jul 2022 and how the only work done was changing the battery. The shop told me to bring my car and they would test the battery and change it per the warranty. After sitting at the shop for 2 hour, they informed me they don't know what's wrong with my car. They said they would change the battery and test my car to ensure if was running properly. If there were still issues, then they would need to diagnostic testing on my car. The shop had my car for 48 hours and I thought something was majorly wrong. Turns out they ran the diagnostics on my car before installing a new battery. When they finally changed the battery and all the issues stopped. When I picked up my car I was informed the battery was known to have issues. I was livid because they told me on the phone it wasn't the battery and needed to do diagnostic testing. The shop charged me almost the same amount of money I spent back in July 2022 when the battery was installed. The shop told me they were required by Interstate Batteries to prove the battery was defective. Even though it ended up being the battery, which was replaced under warranty, I ended up paying the mechanic for a known defective product. Upon contacting Interstate Batteries to complain about the warranty process knowing their product was defective. They said they would investigate and reimburse if they thought their product was proven to be defective. Though they did reimburse paying for another battery, it didn't cover the forced cost of their required diagnostic testing. Some scam they have going on to rid hard-working people out of their money. Then I found out the shop could have installed any battery brand. Stay away from Interstate Batteries as they knowingly sell defective products.

Yes, they did make good on this warranty claim, but it was a long hassle with rude treatment. There was a young man at the counter at the time and two older men. One of the older men was named Eric according to my receipt. I was spoken to like I was a stupid idiot that did not know what he was taking about. I had purchased a replacement alternator online and returned the older alternator in the box the newer box came in the other older man (the one without glasses) spun the box around on the counter violently and nicked my right hand which was next the box and did not even apologize. Eric had me run my credit card in the reader and claimed the card I used in his reader was not the one I had used to purchase the new alternator with. Looking at my O'Reilly printout confirms that the credit card I had used for the online purchase was indeed the same one I put in the slot at this store by looking at the credit card number's last 4 printed on the receipt so this guy acted like an idiot. These two older men seem rude, grumpy and incompetent to be O'Reilly employees. If I were to have my way, both would be summarily fired. Yes, I was glad that my warranty claim was finally resolved to my satisfaction with a cash refund for the newer alternator for the total in full, but I did not deserve such horrible treatment since these men seem to be poorly trained, incompetent or just plain hate their jobs. They just can't handle their work, it seems. I had been treated very nicely by most O'Reilly employees over the years, but these latest two older clowns take the moose-turd pie right in the face!
