This is probably the first Advanced Auto Parts store I have been to, I always hear their…read moreadvertisements on the radio, you know what I'm talking about if you listen to the radio. I always just went to Autozone or someplace else close just to pick up one/two simple things a few times a year for the car. Well I was driving by here the other day and thought about something I needed to pick up so I thought why not and checked it out. I asked the staff member for assistance to see if this particular product would fit my vehicle. He said "lets open it and go try it out!" He assisted me in installation and everything worked out, very nice staff! The store layout and price is probably the same as the other auto shops I've been to. I don't get any specialty products so I have no idea what sort of products they would carry in that department or what services they offer. I would return again! Great store with a big parking lot!

Took in a 2015 Toyota Highlander for a prepurchase inspection. Brian checked me in and was so…read morehelpful! I told him of my concerns and he reassured me that they will look over it thoroughly. I received my inspection report within a few hours, and I am so so happy I did this! This was the most in depth, thorough prepurchase inspection I have ever gotten. My suspicions were right on with the vehicle. At 120,000 miles, I saw that the Carfax didn't mention any maintenance or service past the 100,000 mile mark, BIG red flag! At that mileage there's much that needs to be done...timing belt, all fluids flushed, possible water pump, gaskets, shocks/struts, etc. None of that had been done to this car, resulting in needing a timing belt replacement (I thought I heard the faint sound of it being worn out when I test drove it), shocks/struts, gasket leaks, and a new alternator, to the tune of around $7,000. Oh, and the kicker was they found that there were several diagnostic codes that were recently cleared. Hmmm, wonder who cleared those? Needless to say, I did not purchase this vehicle. I did inform the dealership that was selling it of the issues, and as you can imagine, they didn't care and said that Christian Bros was making stuff up so they could sell me more services. Um, you're also trying to sell me something and it smells like lemons! Christian Bros has never let me down, and I've never done business with you. BTW- we live in Ankeny and Christian Bros has been our go to for honest, reliable car repairs. I will continue looking and will always bring my cars to them, they are the best! Best $200 I have ever spent.

Car sound is now my first choice when looking into purchasing or installing electrical work on all…read moreof my vehicles. After having work done on my wife's car (a car starter installation) I was driving around and notice that her blind spot monitoring was having an issue. I called Car Sound to have them check their work, since I was unaware of any issues until the car starter was installed. I was able to get an appointment quickly. Upon inspection of the car, the owner of Car Sound came to me, after inspecting the installation work, with the owner's manual explaining the safety features of my car. I was aware of some of the information, but it was very helpful to have a professional explain the features with detail. During this time, an office manager was looking up information on her computer to find out what could cause the issue. Between the owner and office manager they diagnosed the issues and showed me how I could check for the culprit if I ran into that issue again. I called the dealership to see if they would also check the issue out and make sure that there aren't any other sensor issues. Long story short they told me it would be $180 just to bring it in. I went home pulled a panel off the car cleaned out the rocks and am no longer experiencing issues. Thank you to everyone at Car Sound, not only for your great products, but your customer service that goes above and beyond putting the customer first!!!

The issue for this visit was a parking brake check light and rough stopping using the brakes. It was determined to be the rear brakes, front were ok and sensors ok. So they provided a quote based on what the rear repairs would need for parts and labor. We found them to be very reasonable. The work was done the same day.
