He could see I was visibly upset and gave me some great advice, which was to list it on craigslist as a car that could be rebuilt, rather than sell it to a chop shop which wouldn't pay more than a few hundred. Rick even went so far as to check to see if someone he knew (who was looking for a fixer upper for his daughter) would be interested. You don't get that kind of service many places). In the end, I placed it on craigslist and had two interested buyers within an hour. Ultimately, I ended up trading it in for 2k at a dealership which I put towards a new car. I took my car to get some body damage repaired here…read more I like helping small town places out, although the lady in the front office comes off a little strong at some points. Strong enough that I wanted to look elsewhere. My boyfriend really like them so we ended up getting it fixed there. They did try to help us out and cut out some costs during out estimate, because we were paying cash. Not insurance money. But when everything was all said and done, it ended up being more that the original price. They did tell me they would have my car for 4 days MAX, and ended up keeping it three weeks. Its a good thing i didn't rent a car. I know there's always issues with getting parts on time, etc. But no one ever notified me, or called to tell me they would need it a few more days. I had to call several times to check. They would tell me it would be ready Monday, and when Monday rolled around I would eventually call and check and they would then say something like "Oh no, were going to need it another few days". I would have really appreciated notice in that situation as I cannot drive myself to pick up my car, arrangements had to be made. I also do not have the luxury of being able to leave my job, arrangements had to be made there too. I got my car back and it looks great. I am happy with the work, but not necessarily the customer service. Not sure I would go back..
