The owner was so lovely and friendly! We came here twice while staying in Montreal because we loved the food. Everything we had was so delicious! We had tempura, poke bowl, sonomono, sushi combo, vegetable yaki soba, bento box, and probably a bit more that I can't remember. I loved how they prepared the sonomono, even the tempura was well prepared using real Japanese ingredients. Yaki soba had the taste of Japanese spices. Best sushi in town! Please visit and try their food because it was excellent! The place is cute and successfully decorated with a Japanese-style design. We saw a lot of pretty items from Japan. Excellent food and service. Highly recommended!

Our waitress was super amiable, smiling and simply lovely. She was also very helpful with the menu. My sister and I ordered from the lunch menu. My sister got chicken teriyaki, which comes with rice, kimchi, miso soup and ice cream (green tea), and I took salmon and tuna bowl with kimchi, miso soup and ice cream (red bean). Food were good but not fantastic; ice creams were the highlight of our lunch. All those food cost us 30$ with taxes and tips! Amazing! Definitely, a lovely place to go!

Once seated, things happen very quickly...it is go, go, go (in the best possible way.) We ordered appetizers first, the tempura green beans with a delicious truffle mayo, gyoza and the tofu salad (they make it fresh every Sunday). Green beans were everyone's fave, but I have to mention the (pickled?) vegetables on the salad. So flavourful! Also tried the egg drop soup which is so tasty. Mains were the salmon tuna bowl, the beef short ribs, the shrimp burger, and 48 hour pork with curry sauce. Everything was wonderful! Finished with their soft serve ice cream, I had the cherry blossom but one of us had the sake, which is a shot of sake poured on top. Amazing! You can even have wasabi or ginger... I'll try that next time (and there will be a next time soon!)

You can also order to go here I believe. They really operate efficiently, expect fast service! Tables are tightly situated and there's a cozy bar situation where I sat this time, able to watch the chefs cook right in front of me. The daily specials are posted on their Instagram page, as well as written on pieces of paper around the restaurant. My server quickly helped me to water and a glass of sake. I placed a to go order for one of the daily specials, the grilled sea bass with sushi rice and salad, with some kimchi. I also ordered the BBQ chicken with tortilla and salad, as well as vegetable gyoza. Everything was incredible. Truly. The gyoza came topped with green onions and was SO crispy and hot and was perfect with their soy sauce. I thought sea bass was wonderful with a unique almost smoky flavor that melted in my mouth paired with the slightly sweet sticky rice. The barbecue chicken was great as well and better the next day. One thing I don't really understand is why they served plain flour tortillas cut into quarters with their food. We didn't utilize this, nor the white butter/mayo sauce that came alongside it. I hope to eat here often, for years to come and am so happy to see this iconic Japanese restaurant still thriving years later.

On the other side of the restaurant, you can get products like mochi and Pocky among other Asian products. I thought the poke bowl would be the usual but was very surprised at how delicious the sauce was! It's a mix of teriyaki and spicy mayo and it's just divine. I especially loves the mango and takuan bits in the bowl. The fish in the sushi rolls were really fresh as was the rice. We loved the sauces that went with the different rolls. It's a little bit more expensive than the average poke/sushi place but it's worth it. I enjoyed the ambiance although there was a lingering smell of cleaning products. But I would definitely come back and eat the same thing again.

Although we were the only customers in the restaurant, their online delivery service tablet would not stop going off, so we figured the food must be good. And it was! I got the Shushu poke bowl, which had a mix of salmon, tuna, and tempura shrimp. Good rice to protein ratio, good dressing, and a good mix of bell peppers/ avocado / mangoes. My mom got the eel poke bowl, which was also really good with its seaweed salad. Service was good, the space was clean, and the food came quickly. Great place to stop for some quality Japanese food
