Break n Anger is the place to let that urge out safely and legally. Here's how it works: You get to choose 2 items from the top shelf and 5 items each from shelves 2, 3, and 4 -- so about 17 items total to smash. After signing the waivers, you suit up in a jumpsuit, gloves, and a helmet. They offer earplugs too, but I skipped those -- the sound of breaking stuff is half the fun. Honestly, the time flew by -- I went all in for 10 minutes and it felt like seconds. I probably should've paced myself, but I really wanted to let the rage out. The exhibits do such a great job celebrating the many communities that make Hawaii unique. It's educational without feeling like a lesson, and I appreciated the thought that went into it. Everything was sooo cute!! There are also areas for younger children to explore, creative play spaces, climbing and movement activities, and plenty of exhibits that engage their curiosity. Parking was simple and convenient, and I also enjoyed the café and little gift shop. Those small touches made the visit even better. One thing that really stood out to me was the staff. Near closing time, we were in the toddler area while an employee was cleaning. She still took the time to interact with Laylah and was so kind and patient. She never seemed bothered or rushed, which I really appreciated. I also love that they offer both kamaʻāina and military discounts. We took the first boat out and it was not very crowded. We were able to spread out over several windows. The kids were entranced! They excitedly pointed out huge trevally, sharks, and pretty reef fish. We even saw three graceful spotted eagle rays. This tour has expanded since I went last with a few new sections of artificial reef, which will be amazing in a few years of the ocean taking them over. They have sections of two airplanes which is where we saw the dozing sharks. The best part of course is the two ship wrecks. I've dove these and done the tour. The sub is close enough to enjoy the wreck without being a diver. His diving was really impressive. They gave us plenty of passes to see as much as we could at 100 feet. Narration was good and informative if a little loud. Absolutely recommend this tour!

As soon as you walk in, there's super cute Sanrio backdrops to take photos in front of, Sanrio bags/merch for purchase, and you start your experience wearing hello kitty socks and slippers (optional but highly recommend). After you enter the shop, you can decide whether you want to do their basic package of gel nails + unlimited nail stickers or you can do their upgraded package to have unlimited charms and gems and sparkles. I recommend choosing their unlimited charm bar because they have so many cute items to decorate your nails with! The nail shop is a little different than your typical nail salon. Here, you'll choose your polish (they now have Japanese gel!) and then Kelly (the owner) will teach you how to apply the gel polish on yourself. That's right, it's all DIY but Kelly is a very good teacher. I don't like applying my own nail polish but I found the experience super easy with her guidance. Once you've decided on your nail colors, you can choose from a huge array of stickers or charms to decorate with. Depending on whether you're using the nail stickers or the charms will be a different process but both super simple. And since it's all gel polish, there's little wait time so you can enjoy your nails as soon as you're done! What a perfect way to start your vacation in Oahu! Oh, and the best part? It's BYOB so bring some bottles and your girlfriends and have an amazing time doing your nails together! Entry is only $12, which feels like a great deal for what you get. It's on the smaller side, but still really entertaining. We loved seeing a monk seal swimming around, along with tons of seahorses, jellyfish, a couple sharks, and lots of colorful fish. We even spotted a humuhumunukunukuapuaʻa, which was a fun Hawaii highlight. Only downside was getting bitten by mosquitoes inside, which was a bit annoying. Otherwise, we had a really good time and would recommend it as an easy, affordable activity in Waikiki.

The Waikiki Aquarium - is affordable, and focuses on local sea life. I have been to many aquariums with all the same fish. Most of the sea life here are smaller such as fish, jellies, sea horses but they do have a rescue Hawaiian Monk Seal in a large outdoor area. I was 13 the first time I went to this aquarium with my grandparents and I was so captivated by the sea dragons - this was the first place I ever saw them. I still have the stuffed one they bought me on that visit. My boyfriend also commented that he enjoyed this aquarium because it is focused on the local sea life. They are currently having some construction to expand and add some additional exhibits but overall it was one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend especially if you have younger children as it isn't a huge aquarium but alot of local sea life.
