Aloha, Like most people, I rarely write reviews when they are positive. Oahu Taekwondo Center has far exceeded my expectations. I am in constant amazement of how patient, caring, supportive and structured all of the leadership and staff are when caring for all of the kids in the class. My son is currently a Green Belt/5 years old and loves Oahu Taekwondo Center. Leadership finds a way to care for newer kids who are adjusting while at the same time maintaining order of the rest of the class. I feel stronger and more confident ever since I started kicking butt in a women's kickboxing class here a few months ago. The gym is clean and bright. The staff is knowledgeable, strong and friendly. Sign up!! My daughter goes here and loves it! Sometimes I have to encourage her to go but most kids would rather just play. Once she's there she loves it. All the instructors are so helpful and supportive. They are amazing!! We only go once a week but she's a yellow belt now and she always talks about when she had to break that board with her front kick. I would seriously consider it if you're any age or experience. They are definitely there to help you grow and not to get you belts and make money(like some other places). read more

The BEST Taekwondo school in Hawaii! I have known Master McCutcheon since we were white belts together. Talk about a man who is blessed! Brian is a gifted fighter and the best instructor in the business. Wanted by many to Coach them to their Olympic dreams, Brian is sought out by many fighters from all over the country. When Hawaii fighter's enter the ring, the question is always asked if they are trained by Master McCutcheon. But that is not all, then you have his talented wife, Master Tamra McCutcheon! Tamra runs the business and trains the students as well. It doesn't stop there, Tamra is also one of the fastest Blackbelts in the school. Ty, Macy, and Mandy are their kids and fighters themselves. Not only would I recommend this school, I would send anyone here. It is worth the drive from anywhere on the island! I always come and pay respect to the McCutcheon's when I am in town. Took my kids here for the 1st time and they had a blast. The staff did an outstanding job at teaching the basic fundamentals of Taekwondo while making it fun for all the little ones. My son has been attending these guys for over a year now and he LOVES it!!! My son is a total "millennial" kid who loves nothing but his iPad and Switch! We couldn't get him to do nothing. We thought he needed some kind of sport to get active! He's a chunkster lol. But he loves attending his Taekwondo classes. I think it's partially because of their air conditioned facility lol. But mainly it's because of the patience these guys have with him. My son has autism, a mild case. However, he loves going to his classes there. The staffs patience is great! They have their regular classes going but manages to pull those that need the extra help to the side of the class to have a more one on one assistance then heads those kids back in line with the others to continue the lesson. Here and there they also play games with the kids at the end of classes. Which is always fun to watch. The staff there are friendly and seem very family oriented. They have a day where they let my son try a class before even committing so I would say to bring your child have them just to try it out, I'm almost certain, they will be wanting to join. read more

He's a very nervous kid and I was worried, but the instructors are very nice and patient with the kids, and my son has gotten more comfortable. He finally wanted to join. I'm so glad. Phew! So I used to take kickboxing a little while back, okay not little, like about 5 years ago at this same place. Starting back up and went for my first class this morning at their new location. Wow! That was an amazing workout. Yes, I have been through the gym memberships, took pole dancing classes, as well as bought p90x on dvd. But I need something a little more motivating like this (plus I'm trying to get in shape for my wedding). I loved it. I actually thought I was going to die when I was on the punching bags and probably regretted the fact that I woke up late so I didn't eat breakfast so my energy level was null. I will need to work on my coordination and stuff but overall awesome workout. The instructor is nice and the other women are pretty motivating too. Can't wait to get back into it again! So my boyfriend had been training here since he was 14yrs old he is now in his mid 20s and is a 2nd degree black belt and branched off to mixing it up and took up bjj and muay thai....but getting to the point...he had mention how his tkd school offered Women's Kickboxing (who is taught by the owners wife who is also a black belt) I was so stoked and of course anything boxing/fighting related always had my best interest, before taking up Muay Thai Boxing @ M-1, Oahu Taekwondo was my very 1st class where I started taking kickboxing for 2 years, it's where I learned the basic 1-6 punch combos, basic kicks, proper form and stance and the plus side we got to incorporate some tkd techniques. I enjoyed coming to class ready to kick, punch and get an awesome workout. Tammy is an amazing and very motivating instructor. Having the pleasure to train here made me realize how much I enjoy martial arts and the art of it! For the last 5 years, I've been a "victim" of the trainers from the women's kickboxing class at Oahu Taekwondo Center. I live in town and I choose to travel to pearl city because of the standard of excellence the school holds itself to. From professional authentic training (to be sure, this isn't your aerobic -punch the air and shake your butt kinda exercise, but boxing in all it's original intent coupled with taekwondo kicking), reasonable class sizes and pricing, and a clean environment with state of the art equipment. The workout is one of the best types of exercise around if you are serious about toning, keeping in shape but you're the type that needs someone pushing you (instructor Brassie is all too happy to fill that role). Kickboxing has also proved to be an incredible outlet for working out any stress you might be carrying, many times even without knowing. Me and my friends call it our "pent up aggression!" lol. Another one of the benefits of taking Women's Kickboxing interestingly enough, is that you no longer feel like an obvious victim in dark alleys or while walking late at night. The classes provide you with the confidence to know that you could for the MOST part, and at the very LEAST defend yourself should the unthinkable happen to you. I've enjoyed my time at OTC so much that i've enrolled my son in Taekwondo classes two times a week. OTC is without a doubt the best Taekwondo school in Hawaii and produces some of the best taekwondo athletes in the nation. The instructors are very nice and thoughtful. I started when I was 6 years old and I enjoyed it from day one. Perfect place and environment for kids to exercise, learn discipline, and just have fun!
