Been part of K-Team for about two years now. It's a great jiujitsu school. They have knowledgeable instructors who genuinely care about you and your growth in this discipline. Professor Kimo, Kyle and the rest of the instructors have created a family oriented culture which I enjoy and appreciate. I set up an appointment with them online on Veterans day because I work monday-friday and those are the only days they have appointments. I get a confirmation email from them, and Well I show up for my appointment, nobody is there, doors are locked and not even a reach out to reschedule. I was hoping that this would be a good spot for my daughter after all the good reviews but having the two of us standing outside of a locked facility is not a good look at all. read more

One of thee most technical, professional, highly talented, Ohana (Family) style jiu Jitsu environment I can fathom. Location: Kaneohe, East side of Oahu Owner: Kimo K. Location is prime, H2 if you live in town, H3 if you live in the west side. I make the commute from town because of the knowledge I will receive from Kimo and his team of black belts. Instructors (Black Belts) at K-team are very high level. I am a blue belt and seen my Jiu Jitsu IQ grow tremendously. I am able to apply the knowledge they share to me on the mats. Their style is more of a, "let's see what works for you!" Type if method. They are also in with the new up and coming techniques. Definitely a school to look into! Has it really been 14 years since I first stepped foot into Kaneohe's premier Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy? The year was 2003, and a normal day in the sleepy town of Kaneohe--rainy, cool, and I had just come back home from another crazy day at the office, when my friend Brad called and said, "Eh, Mark, you like go practice tonight? Come to the Gracie school in Kaneohe--you gotta meet the instructor Ronn--he's just like you." I wasn't sure what he meant by that being a little off balance back in the day and didn't think there was anybody that could match my chaos, but battle after crazy battle w/ Ronn later, I knew I had met my crazy equivalent. Ronn and I became very close friends from then as he mentored my Jiu Jitsu growth and supported me through friendship during some of the craziest years of my life. For this, Gracie Kaneohe and Ronn will always have an immovable and deep rooted place in my heart and soul. In 2008 Ronn needed to take a sabbatical and he relied on me to take over the school and continue to grow Relson Gracie Jiu Jitsu in Kaneohe which I was honored and privileged to do. During that year, I was still just a brown belt and for the most part mentor-less but blessed with a ton of fantastic coaches who helped me run the school. As luck would have it, a huge influence (Kimo Kreis) in my Jiu Jitsu path returned back from Colorado and decided to start training with me. He was an incredible asset in teaching some of the purest versions of Relson's Jiu Jitsu I've come to experience outside of the man himself and when I decided to step away and move to Southern California in 2015, he took over the school from me. Since then, the school has continued to grow and even upgraded its facility to the bay at the front of the building with more square footage and beautiful white mats which reflect the purity and "Budo" of the spirit that can be felt within those walls. There is no doubt in my mind that the essence of what Ronn started all those years ago, carried on by Kimo and his excellent staff today, is thriving and alive. This place is so amazing!! Coach Brandon is absolutely phenomenal - he breaks things down really slowly and gives great examples. He also lets us know WHY that move works and in what situation you could use it. We got lots of practice. This was way more of a work out than I anticipated but I loved every second of it - an hour flew by. Coach Marco was also incredibly supportive - we felt like family when we walked in. Everyone took such good care of us and make sure we had what we needed and understood the moves. Would absolutely recommend this place for adults and children. We could only commit to a month but would love to see an 8-week Womens Course happen!! read more

My daughter and I got invited to go to class by one of her friends. We arrived and were greeted by the instructor Scott Wright, who was very personable and friendly. While waiting for class to start other students started to arrive and the vibe was really friendly. Once class started we warmed up and were shown some great techniques. Professor Scott explains techniques with great detail in terms that are easy to understand. He keeps the class interesting and fun in a way that keeps students engaged. We really enjoyed the class and would recommend it to anyone who wants to try jiujitsu in a friendly non intimidating place. read more

I have been looking for a dojo for my son to begin practicing jiu jitsu. The physical and mental benefits seem like great character builders for a 5 year old. I had come by at a previous time but was told by a parent that the owner was on vacation. So we returned, and were just in time to watch a class that was just starting. Afterwards, I asked the instructors there who I would be able to talk to regarding possibly signing my son up for classes. I know literally nothing about jiu jitsu. I mentioned to the instructor that my son had seemed to lose interest in his Tae Kwon do classes and we thought jiu jitsu might be a better fit. I think he might have actually rolled his eyes. He gave me absolutely no information that was helpful; it was like pulling teeth. I felt like I was talking to a wall. They divide the classes by age group so I learned the smaller kid's class is 2 days a week, Monday and Wednesday, or Tuesday and Thursday, or Friday and Saturday. This is not the way he put it to me. Keep in mind I'm coming to this facility with no prior knowledge of both the art form or schedule. I just wanted some information, as I think any parent would. I got confused on how the days were split up and he had a really rude attitude about it. He then handed me his phone to sign a waiver (without saying anything), and I started to put my information in, as the screen read: "Name, Address, phone number, email, etc." After not telling me anything at all when he handed me the phone, he then said, "No, HIS name." Okay, cool. There was some more electronic signing, with ZERO information coming with this signing. Then I said, "okay, I guess we'll bring him tomorrow to see how it goes." I got a dismissive head nod. He didn't introduce himself, ask my son's name or mine, the entire time. I own a business and if I was as dismissive and condescending to potential customers as that guy was to me, I'd have been out of business ages ago. I really wanted to send my son here but getting talked to like I was an annoyance and receiving virtually no more information upon leaving than I did when I first got there has made me change my mind. If he was that condescending and rude to me, I'd hate to think how he'd treat my son. None of the great principles that are associated with jiu jitsu were exhibited here. Definitely not leading by example. I don't even WRITE YELP REVIEWS. This is the first one I've ever written. read more

After a few classes I have come to really enjoy this place. The instructor is very helpful and shows respect to all his students. I wrestled for years but only dabbled in BJJ, so coming here I knew I would be in for a much more in depth world of grappling. I honestly have no complaints, the classes are fairly small so there is plenty of one on one time.
