A quick perusal of the rules and regs for renewal dictate that I find a 'full service' center for renewal, not one of the handy county clerk offices if I wish to stay 'active' while my renewal is processed. Images of a veritable mullet-filled zoo flash through my mind as I try to merge my daily life schedule into what I imagine will be either a full morning or afternoon held within the tight grasp of the state bureaucracy dealing with the administration of this right. Sigh. . . . . Fine print points out that 'any' full-service center will suffice. Hmmm. . . . . perhaps one Far from the Madding Crowds of Knoxville? Perhaps "Tess' will be there, or "The Redman". Ahhhh, Clinton, Tennessee. Near, but far enough away. . . . Office opens at 8:30, a nice compromise between early and late morning. I pulled the Green Mule into the large parking area and noticed that at 8:29 there were only three people in line at the front door. At precisely 8:30 the door was opened by a pleasant lady (Tess?), who greeted everyone with a smile and directed us toward the well-lighted counters. The staff behind the counters were, without exception, very professional and pleasant. I was given a 'call number' and directed to "Have a seat 'till we call for ya." While sitting I noticed that the entire waiting area was clean, well-maintained, and smoke free. (Yay!) A screen overhead indicated how many clients weere waiting to be called, what number is being served, and the current time of day. A well-modulated voice announced when each counter window was ready for the next client. Less than three minutes later my number was called, I wrote a check for renewal, sat for a fresh ID photo, and was out the door by 8:40. I learned that cash, check, or major credit card would have sufficed for payment for the Carry Permit Renewal. Monday - Friday 8:30 - 5:00 Cash, Check, or Major Credit Card Fast, pleasant, and totally convenient. It doesn't get any better than this!

Even those our connection has a dark history, the bell is meant to signify a brighter future. The bell itself is huge and very heavy, suspended in air with the ability for visitors to "ring" it. It is under a pavilion in the midst of Bissell Park, which has a great walking trail and a park/playground a short distance away behind the library. Worth a stop, in combination with the Children's Museum of OR, and the American Museum of Science and Energy, which both cover more history of the Manhattan Project and the creation of our small town.

Complaint about Preferred Living Homes 7140 Clinton Hwy, Powell, TN…read more Selling us a Modular Franklin "Woodland" home. I do have pictures to back up everything I have to say. When clearing the land , the workman did not listen and was going to put the home in the wrong direction, resulting in new footers being put in and the killing of a very tall beautiful oak tree. The modular home itself, from Nashville, looks fine however everything that could go wrong did. The inside showed poor workmanship. All the can lights had to be replaced, in the electrical panel all the breakers had to be replaced because they were not the correct size.( ie. when I used the microwave, it kept tripping the breaker) When setting up, the work crew did not do their job testing the water at the sinks, resulting in mold and mildew because they all leaked. The company in Nashville did respond and had to replace all cabinets under the three sinks, wall panels, the floor and insulation under the floor. This after I called the Health Department and they explained the illness that can happen with mold and mildew. I in turn explained to the Nashville company how my husband had been very sick for 4 months. The kitchen counter would not line up, the wood beam was painted two different colors, doors not closing properly, shower doors not lined up, and more. These are things that eventually had to be fixed,(the counter still will not line up) but all this took time. It was all on their time and not me the customer. The AC had to be taken care of to work right. The appliances, well, everything inside just seems cheap, the cheapest way and the cheapest things to construct the home with. They left the land "rough" in other words not smooth where you could plant grass or anything. I would research and think twice before any purchase of Preferred Living homes.

I filed a complaint with the BBB, 3 times against the same delivery business, in less than a month…read more The BBB did not do anything and basically stated, "Fed Ex's financial responsibility for a shipment tendered into their custody lies with the shipper, the party who paid for Fed Ex's services. You will need to contact the shipper for restitution. If the company who shipped the item will not cooperate with you, you may file a BBB complaint against them." Why would I want to do this if FedEx is the one who is committing the problem? This idiot, Luke McDowell, closed out another complaint because it was detailed with the listed FedEx's tracking numbers and stated that it was a duplicate, which was not true. So, he wasted my time and I had to submit another complaint with less detail. He ended up closing my last complaint because I rejected FedEx's response. He must be some kind of stupid because all he does is just sit there and click on buttons to close out cases without reading anything.

It was clean, had comfortable chairs, an outlet, and a whiteboard. The only thing that ruined this was the fact that it isn't enclosed at the top so the large study group next door would have been able to hear everything I said just like I was very aware that they're using all their smoothie and coffee trips and Kroger runs for their class. I ended up only writing my speech and filming in my car in the parking lot. It wasn't even private enough for me to be able to take a quiz or efficiently study. I thought being that it was so close to a college that it would have been a typical study room and be quiet with privacy.

The first liar I talked with, was quite nasty in his attitude and told me that I did not serve in 'nam so I was not eligible (I was sent to Germany where I served honorably to the end of my enlistment). Now retired, I applied again. This time the disrespectful person told me that I made too much money during my retirement and was not qualified for VA assistance. Then he tells me that was what I was told the first time I applied for assistance. Wrong ... but I was told one thing and the liar wrote down something else. VA appears to be full of liars .... from the recruiters to those who answer the phone. VA, shame on you!

Gatlinburg is a tourist town near the northern entrance of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The…read moretown is filled with restaurants, souvenir shops, attractions and hotels. During our visits, the traffic was a nightmare and the streets were crowded with tourists. We visited last week to see the sights and have lunch. The town has an arts district, filled with merchandise, some by local craftsman. The restaurants are mostly local and good, we checked Yelp reviews before selecting a spot. The souvenir spots were packed either merchandise, some had sales that were really enticing. My granddaughter bought a nice sweatshirt. There are tons of interesting bars, many with mountain themes. We didn't get to try out the bars because we had the grandkids either us. The attractions are overwhelming. We saw an incredible amount of roller coasters and rides that wind up and down the sides of mountains. The kids visited haunted houses and took heart-stopping gondola rides. Every attraction had long lines, even though we were there in off season. Public restrooms were hard to find. We found a set tucked in a walkway. Sidewalks are wide with occasional art sculptures. Pedestrian walkways are clearly marked with buttons to stop traffic. Parking is a challenge, but the town has the foresight to offer a free trolley service (with free parking). That said, even the trolleys have trouble accommodating the large influx of tourists. In general, I'd say the infrastructure of Gatlinburg is at its limits for the influx of tourists, but the town tries to address the need. I'd go for the restaurants.
