My grandfather deserved better care, and when he brought his concerns to administration they refused to help him leave the facility. Taking away his only means of mobility. I am not sure who is running this place but it needs to be looked into. Please consider other rehab facilities in the area unless you can ensure you're physically checking in on your person multiple times a day!

She also pays for 30 meals/month but doesn't use them all because Royal Park Place in Zeeland often serves fish, which she doesn't like. (I bet they also don't serve beef much.) We visited her about a year ago, and the food was very good. In August, 2024, the food is pretty bad. The cream of broccoli soup was oddly sweet. The broccoli was fully cooked, but there was something soupy about the cream portion, and it tasted sweet. I ordered 2 portions of the American fries/country fries, but they were neither. They were very thinly sliced-up potatoes, and heavily peppered but not salted. It was very unenjoyable to eat these potatoes, but as it composed the majority of my meal, I ate 'em. I'm just happy they weren't undercooked. Props to the chef! I also ordered green beans, which appeared to be the cheapest canned green beans on God's green bean planet. I ate them, but without relish (please pass the relish, ketchup, mustard, anything to make them taste better). I think the kitchen workers heavily sprinkled the green beans with black pepper, but again, no salt. For the meat portion, I ordered roast pork. I could have ordered 1/2 pork and 1/2 chicken wings ("drummies"). When my plate arrived, it had a very distinctly odd smell to it. I lifted the roast pork to my nose and smelled it. It smelled okay. I tasted a forkful. It tasted okay. But to this day, I can't get the stink out of my nose. I brought the crappy roast pork home to my dog. My relative, who was also visiting my aunt, was also dissatisfied with her meal. Except for the salad and ice cream. I'm imagining the Royal Park can't screw up those entrees. So, overall, the food at Royal Park, Zeeland, Michigan, in 2023 was excellent, but in August, 2024, it was, really, terrible.

I'm hoping future security will be on top of issues and inform residents quickly as what has happened and if any action needs to be taken. My parents have been told there is another room that has opened up and no longer need to be crammed into a one bed one bath. Thank you for correcting these issues. Some of the reviews aren't telling the truth or they plainly don't have a clue. There is one medical person who they call a nurse but he has nothing to do with the care of your loved one. IF YOU HAVE A LOVED ONE THAT NEEDS DAILY MEDICAL ATTENTION AND CARE -- STORY POINT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT THE PLACE TO BRING THEM. The story point staff managers are great and they are there to talk to and help with your situations but they don't do the carrying of your loved ones. MOST OF THE CARE STAFF IN ASSISTED LIVING ARE "TEMP"!!! They are people going through training. THEY DO NOT CARE OR EVEN ATTEMPT TO CARE ABOUT YOUR LOVED ONE. Some are foreigners and can't understand them. They have ZERO knowledge of anyones medical needs. I've tried for weeks to get a return phone call just to ask questions. I get bounced around from department to department, all with the "this isn't my job" style of help. Not a great impression at all.
