I called the doctors office from an urgent care facility to ask if they could call in a referral to a cardiologist for me. I was having heart palpatations and the doctor that I was seeing at the moment was recommending that I see a cardiologist. The cardiologist had an appointment ready for me to go right over. However my insurance requires I have a referral from my primary care physician. Andrew Goldstein was listed as my primary care physician. The receptionists response to this in an angry tone was " Well why did you go to an urgent care? We have been here all day. You are our patient you should have come here. If they want to treat our patients they should be able to write their referrals. Go to an ER you wont get an appointment for a cardiologist right now anyway to which I responded ... they have an appointment for me to go in right now. I just need a referral. Her response "well you can book and appointment with us for tomorrow and then we will assess if you really need to go to a cardiologist." This doctors office clearly does not care about the well being of the patients. They left me with the option of going to an over crowded ER or taking a chance that I could have had a heart attack over night when a cardiologist was ready and available to see me just so that they could bill me for the referral visit! I cant comment on the actual doctors care and I wont find out because I will be finding a new primary care doctor. This doctor seriously needs to re think the staff he has working at his office.

After years going from Doctor to Doctor with no results I was speaking to someone at Dr B Wells in Plainview and they recommended that I see Dr Belfiore. When I went to my appointment I waited less than 20 minutes which is not long at all, my second and third appointment there was less than a 10 minute wait. The staff are very nice and pleasant. Dr Belfiore is very nice, he explained things to me in a way that I could understand and even sketched on a notepad to give me a visual. What Doctor does that? None that I've ever gone to. He didn't rush our time together. He looked me straight in the eyes when he spoke to me. I have much respect for him even after reading these reviews. Nothing will change my mind about Dr Belfiore. I will continue to see him and recommend him. What sealed the deal for me was when he told me about the close professional relationship he has with another doctor that I really love and respect. They have the same work ethics and the same diagnosis and treatment approach.
