As someone with some scientific expertise in what is natural and what is good, I find this is overly simplistic and misleading. Nonetheless, if you drop in, I suspect you'll find that it holds true for everything they have here. I have tried a few local smoothie places, and while this isn't the cheapest one, it seems clearly the best. Of course, anyone can throw some stuff in a blender; I suspect juice bars persist largely because it's difficult for most of us to manage the logistics of keeping fresh fruit at home. But here, they're not just doing the grunt work for you, they're bringing some serious skill to the table. Could I use dragonfruit and coconut and get something that looks and tastes like bubblegum? I'm guessing not. Could I duplicate their wondrous "whipped fruit", a sort of fresh coconut ice cream made right in front of me? Not a chance. Their creations are both delicious and innovative, and I've not found an average one yet (and I've tried quite a few). The proprietor says he's from Brazil, which would explain why he is so good with topical fruits. It's a neighborhood vibe kind of place, and there's a decent chance of free samples. If something is on special, I suggest trying it. Most of what they use is fresh fruit and nut milks and coconut water and they are mostly vegan (save for a few clearly labeled pastries), making this establishment friendly to most customers. Besides their smoothies and bowls, a mouthwatering assortment of salads and baked desserts beckons. I still haven't tried any of those for fear of getting addicted, and if it instead turns out that they're terribly underwhelming in some way, I suppose I'll go back and revise this place's rating down again. Doesn't seem likely.

I've loved açaí for years, having tried it in Rio long before the açaí bowl trend caught on in other parts of the world. The taste is just so nice, something like in between blueberry and chocolate, but this smoothie seemed really light on the açaí taste and really heavy on the raspberry and strawberry taste, which was a let down. It also seemed overpriced given I could easily have thrown the same ingredients into a blender for way cheaper. But my biggest gripe with it was all the seeds. Yeah, berry smoothies are bound to have seeds -- the raspberry ones especially are annoying because they're so tiny and they just clamp onto your molars like a needy ex-boyfriend. So I expected some seeds, but the amount of seeds in this smoothie was RIDICULOUS. I needed a spittoon like in the Wild West to spit all those puppies into. Made for a really unpleasant smoothie experience. (First world problems, I know.) On the plus side, they have their vegan menu options clearly marked. I'm also guessing their açaí bowls are way nicer than their smoothies, and if I ever went back I'd try a bowl instead, but right now I'm not too inspired to go back. Staff seemed bored and undertrained -- they made a couple of mistakes while I was here.

Now whether you believe this fruit is really one of those panaceas for everything that irks you (personally I do), let me tell you something - these bowls of fruity goodness are delicious! It's a pop up shop so don't expect any fancy decor but I will say the minimalist set up gave off a very clean and cozy feeling. When you walk in, you'll want to go straight to the back where you can hear the buzzing blenders. So as the store name suggests, this place is all about the berries. The menu has 2 main choices: bowls and smoothies. I haven't tried the smoothies yet but I reckon I will at some stage. The bowls consist of the following: a layer of acai + other fruit puree, granola, banana and strawberry slices topped with a sprinkling of flax seed. That's what they call the Original and the one I've liked the most. I've tried a couple of the others and they seemed to be variations on the same theme. I work out at the Jetts right across the street and a bowl of berry is the best award after coming off an early morning session. The cool tangy puree meshes beautifully with the sweet crunchiness of the granola. I usually get the large ($10) and it's more than enough for a filling hearty breakfast that (gasp!) is actually pretty healthy. The price however is one of the reasons I'm not here every day and probably the only negative I can think of. However, that being said, it's addictive enough that I have been going about 2-3 times each week! I've recommended this place to all of my coworkers and friends to try at least once. It's unique and as a longtime devour-er of acai berries, I'm very happy that there's now a shop that champions its cause!

From others' photos, the food looked decent, so I chose this one place. I had high hopes, after seeing their breakfast options and fairy floss dessert, but alas, I was underwhelmed. The location and place itself is decently decorated and in the middle of Spring Hill, but it wasn't particularly eye-opening. The girls there were friendly, but a bit disorganized service-wise (throughout my entire meal). I ordered a coffee to start, and as expected, was just alright. For sustenance, I had the corn fritters with smoked salmon on the side, but I almost didn't finish the corn fritters! They were lukewarm, chewy, and tiny! There were two - and smaller than the size of my palm, with a bit of smoked salmon, a poached egg, and rocket with tomato relish (that just tasted like tomato sauce). The presentation and the service were alright, and their lunch options looked good by the way other customers were chowing down... but they really need to work on their breakfast if they're going to keep serving it all day!

The original Coco Bliss, situated in Bulimba, was the first serious contender we found in a sea of sloppy, thin Acai soups mix with frozen Coles muesli. But at Coco Bliss Bulimba, the acai is semi-frozen and is blended with banana for thickening. It is then matched with "Buckini" granola and a variety of different fruit/nut toppings. Unfortunately though, this second shop in the franchise pales in comparison. I'll admit it has only been open officially for a few days (with a "soft opening" for a few days prior to that). But in that time, driven by our acai cravings, we've visited twice already. And left disappointed, twice. I could go on about the incredibly unprofessional staff (guys... bitching openly about customers when *other* customers are still in the shop? Ignoring customers waiting to order because you're too busy teaching the new staff how to flirt and up sell? Really not cool) But really the proof is in the pudding (acai)... Sloppy warm acai with stingy amounts of granola. For $11? Added strawberry costs $2 extra? For now, I'll stick with the original store in Bulimba and hope these guys pick up their act.... Actually maybe I'll forego both and stick with the new-kid-in-town Kiss The Berry.

And yeah, my feelings of smug rose by at least 110% with each sip. Be warned though, fair Yelpers, this is a meal in a bottle. They're not kidding on the label when it says "Liquid Meal." The James Street store is the third in the chain of Liquefy's opening across Brisbane and given they're newly open, it's easy to forgive the stacks of cabinetry, draws and yet-to-be-put-away adminy-store stuff cluttered around the already small space. It's a grab-n-go kind of set up and from your take-away 500ml cold press juices (pressed daily in Mount Gravatt) you can earn bonus smug points by pairing it with a protein ball, a packet of kale chips or bypassing the lot for a smoothie bowl. The prices are on par with other cold-press juice places I've frequented interstate and the quality of the two juices I purchased were delicious. Handy if you're in the area and a great healthy option along James Street.

But when I ate it, it tasted like a plain acai bowl and the acai was sour (like plain acai) and usually acai is blended with banana or other fruit to make it sweeter. There was nothing to indicate a Mars flavour? I queried this on their Instagram and said that I was disappointed only to have them delete my comment! When I posted another comment querying that, they were rude in their response and said my post wasn't reflective on quality or taste! Which was exactly what my post was about. So they also have very poor customer relations and don't care about any feedback that isn't positive. Extremely disappointed and I don't think they'll stay in business all that long with such poor customer service.
